    NWA-TNA Wrestlecrap

I know he was called Eduard Chastein, and he's probably a NWA Wildside guy, I'm not 100% sure. He's Iceberg from NWA-Wildside. They called him Edward Chastain in TNA - he was on for about 2-3 shows I think. Oh, Iceberg was totally wasted in TNA. First they make him into an anti-hardcore generic fat guy, when much of what made him cool was his hardcore style (yeah, we'd probably never see the veggie peeler on a TNA show, but you know what I mean). Second strike -- and this is nothing against Callis, who is great in his own right -- they didn't have Jeff G. Bailey involved in any way. His ranting while Iceberg did his dirty work is what helped him seem more and more like a killer. I hear Iceberg since turned face against Bailey in Wildside, though.

Vince McMahon Pushing Again For Bret Hart's Return

Erm, after I read about Benoit winning the RR, it took me maybe 5 seconds to figure out that he wasn't main eventing because they wanted to get him over, it's just because he was a human peace offering. Why not put one of Bret's "boys" in the main to try and lure him to appear at WMXX, perhaps in said "boy's" corner? If they didn't need to come up with yet another half assed apology attempt, I guarantee things would be much different. Maybe I was swayed for a millisecond, but they can't fool me longer than that. WWE = letdowns, which is why I don't buy into their current product. (The video games and definitely most of their classics DVDs are much better though) And to continue my little theory, maybe HBK being in the main event is, among other things, part of this too? As in, a promise for Bret to receive storyline revenge with Benoit playing his part? (And the promise could and probably would be easily broken, if you recall the one Raw where they brought in Stu and family only to witness Montreal Reference #85759) But he's said it will take more than that to make up to him, and I think he deserves more with all the BS caused by the E's shenanigans. Either way, it's just more WWE half-assing. If what I say is true, Benoit is getting jerked around so they can attempt another shallow apology, like when Bret thought he was making up with Vince, only to hear the "get over it" speech by HBK at the Montreal Raw. If not, well the Cliquesters are still polluting his usage at WM, which is why I will not bother. I can only get so angsty about what I used to enjoy pretty much being dead today, you know.

    Spider-Man 2

Yeah, more Spidey barbs please! My one complaint was that he didn't talk far enough in costume, and the "comedian" Spidey is one of the character's trademarks.

    Justice League

I'll go out on a limb as to say that this is the best current television show right now IMO. It helps, though, that I don't read spoilers, as there's been lots of great surprises for comic fans. I can't think of one episode I really hated this season thus far (the one centered around the "Just-us League" was my least favorite though) The people behind WB's live action department can think up as many "edgy" changes as they can to piss on the fan, er, update Superman. But as always, they could only wish to adapt DC characters as well as WB Animation.

    Superstars of Wrestling Themes

And if I may add a request, I am looking for the Filmreel (1986-1989) Superstars theme.

    Crash Holly passes away

Kind of makes you think twice about why Piper was fired. Yes I know he sucked in the ring, but it still reeks of trying to silence someone for bringing up these very problems. And every time I've read about yet another death (yes that's how it's been in 2003), those words "The Sickness" ring in my head somehow. Anyway I just read about this right now...and I am really shocked. Always did like Crash's gimmick when it was allowed to shine through...for all the flak the 24/7 Hardcore angle took, he made that gimmick. And I think I'm one of the remaining few who'll admit to liking the Super Heavyweight Hollys gimmick back in its heyday. RIP Crash...

    Smackdown Spoilers Thread

I know next to no one will agree with me, but I cannot actively bash Linda Miles. In my own pathetic way it's me keeping alive my little fantasy of a home (Jersey)-grown celebrity. What other Rutgers alumni are left for me to hero worship? Calista Flockhart? Yuck... umm...Miles is from Cincinnati... ...but played women's basketball for RU.

    Vince tells Bret what?

True. However, there was the chance it could have been avoided if not for the apparent need to punish him for rejecting the sleeping with Debra storyline.

    Vince tells Bret what?

Yeah, and besides not needing to, he owes WWE nothing for obvious reasons.

    Old School TV format

Well I am biased, so of course I miss anything associated with the Kayfabe Era. Maybe the idea of returning to a simpler time, before the shitty angles, politics, etc. But I know that, to quote Bobby Heenan, "the magic show is over." Which is why you don't see me around anymore on Mondays or Thursdays.

    ProWrestling is #2

Well if it's mostly directed towards WWE, I have little anger and/or sympathy. They've gone down so bad, and are such a letdownto longtime fans now, that I just think they deserve whatever's coming to them.

    The theme music decline.

It had a ticking clock once? Maybe Russo had a point in his 1wrestlingand6059popups.com commentary. Didn't SEX's theme music start with a similar sound (though that one was more like the miner cuckoo clock that starts the Seven Dwarves singing Hi-Ho)?

    Wrestling's biggest FLUCK UPS1

Another one...this one from Nitro. Anyone remember when Mike Tenay was interviewing someone in a car or what have you, and then you hear a sound not unlike flatulence?

    Wrestling's biggest FLUCK UPS1

Was just chatting a little with Rico (who dutifully supplied me with the HHHonk clip) and I recalled another moment I think hasn't come up yet. Anyone remember an instance in which Rock was fighting someone outside the ring. Rock has his mouth opened...just as a female sounding shriek is audible?

One and Only Conan Tenth Anniversary Thread

Ummmm....maybe, just maybe, the fact that he apparently did it THE DAY AFTER IT HAPPENED (or sometime close) is what made it more offensive than it really was. Time doesn't change bonehaded actions into otherwise, you know. And with that, ironically considering what you think about me, I'm through fighting.

One and Only Conan Tenth Anniversary Thread

Funny story...my cousin, who is honestly one of the deepest people I know, thinks he's a genius for some reason. I MUST be missing something...

One and Only Conan Tenth Anniversary Thread

And I'm sure we all remember why wrestling fans should dislike Kilborn, right?

New FLASH Series in the Works at WB

I think at this point we can agree, WB [no heart's] Costumes. There's this, there's Smallville, and a rumored early script for S:THJ apparently had a Superman who didn't have a costume either.

New FLASH Series in the Works at WB

Yeah, I mean who would have thought we'd see the day that a 90s and up BATMAN movie looked to be the most competent thing to come out of WB? Between this and the worsening and worsening rumors of Superman: The Hatchet Job, I mean.

    Jumping the Shark

And it's up right now! Do come visit us, besides my Coupling column, we talk about wrestling, Family Guy, and other pop-culture and real life topics.

    Jumping the Shark

Yeah I think I will resent Ellen's talk show just because of Caroline Rhea going unappreciated. Also, I always considered her a one trick pony...was there anything else to her besides coming out on network TV? Then again I'm not really a network TV watcher. I am a little interested, however, in NBC Coupling in less than two weeks. The UK version will always be tops, but I've heard good things about the tapings. If we don't neuter it too much, of course I'd love to see it get over here too. BTW, my column on Coupling (the UK version primarily) should be coming soon on the site I write for, The Heel's Blurty (http://www.blurty.com/~edisonmstie/)

    Shaniqua marks....

I have from day one, mostly because she is more or less a hometown (or college) hero from here. I used to go to Rutgers women's basketball games around the time she played for them.

    Looking for old school themes

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get an MP3 etc. of the two WCW themes I mention in the topic. I've tried the WWW and Kazaa and no dice.

    Looking for old school themes

Both themes have not been released. Um, released as in on a CD? That never stopped people from putting X theme online, or has it? I remember this guy who had compilation cassettes of many 1990-1993 WCW themes for sale. I wish I knew if he was still in business and/or online...
