State of the Fed Thread
Lightning Flik replied to HVilleThugg's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Actually, back with my first e-fed that's how I did it. I made things happen. It wasn't a bad way to do things, but a ton of people in the e-fed were absolutely pissed off that I basically jumped the que and was doing stuff that took a year at least to get to (I was pretty much like how Brock Lesnar was), so I've been on my heels (no, pun was intended) to make sure that doesn't happen. Becuase I don't like making people angry with what I do. -
I believe that the crowd popped for Cena because they thought that the WWE would actually let him cut loose and rip into people hard, but he didn't really get too. If he was still like he was this past Monday, that pop would fall back to where it was originally.

Dace that is what I was trying to say about shock value, so thanks for getting this down. Just who exactly are you giving credit for that "good job"? Thuggy should probably get it for starting this up. So Thuggy, thanks for doing so. Back in the IGNJL, I almost always consulted with everyone before I did anything because I wanted to make sure that whatever I did applied to the greater of the whole. Gave me a little more self-purpose. -

And then if we start doing that, we end up going all out for the "shock" factor and we end up in the freaking slump of what can we do for "shock value". I agree that taking 4 months to leave is kinda draging it out, but if everything happened monthly, we'd get no great buildups or rivalries that we can actually remember. Or something that shook the very foundations of the SWF, because it actually had significant meaning to build up to that point. I'm not saying that shock factor isn't a great idea, and it works quite well. But you can't have some things not getting some buildup. -

Um. Slam, when we speak of a Listing Thread For Feuds And Such, we're saying all CC does is this: Alan Clark ------> Feud. Last match was against Maddix, Coy and Annie for the USJL Championship at last PPV. Maddix and Clark's feud is still on-going. Edward James -> No Feud. Returning writer whom is in a bad slump, so no-showing happens often with him. Last match was against Johnny Dangerous in a rematch at last PPV. Stuff like that. You just say who's available and who's not. That's it. You don't try hooking us up together, we still do that. You can make suggestions, because you want to get us more involved, but that's about all. Maybe you could even put up the booking schedules for people here as well, to let CC have a one stop "shop" for looking and seeing who can and can't attend. Edit: Why the hell did I originally think I was responding to Thugg? -

That could work too. Hell, why don't we have that SWF.net Exclusive stuff cover this stuff? You know? I mean, I kinda liked the concept that was started, because it was interesting and entertaining as hell when done that way. -

Then if we want to do stuff like that, we need everyone to get into talking with others. You can't just write it up without the other person knowing. What should be done in these cases, is let the people who are writing the matches in the know of what happened previously in a segment, so that they can build that into their matches appriopriately to sell the effects easily. -

As I said, I get passionate about my ideas. Hence, I start becoming an ass about it. Sorry about that. I understand that you don't have the time for doing it all, but I'm just saying that this in itself does cause some problems that CC is having. You should probably have someone who can at least be there 12/7 (since you gotta have 12 hours in a day to yourself) for CC, so CC can keep up with everything. This might help with your own recent problems themselves. I think that doing it the public fashion would be a great idea as well, since it would keep people in the know of who's tied up and who's not. Also, I think that newbies should be placed in like a little area in the Listing, so that they can be evaluated firstly before they get any feuds. -
I would trade Cabrera's ass in a moment if I knew I could get his production back in like three-way deal trade (I've got my rookie Edward James, but I'm letting him make some better stats down with my Godly Trappers team, besides, James would replace Everett and too many trades). Hell, I'll probably offer his ass up at the trade deadline since Mateo was doing quite well before I got Cabrera back. Although, he wouldn't hit as many HRs... So there's always a downside. But it's not just Cabrera, I've got Biddle on my ass becuase he isn't getting paid enough. I've got Everett, and practically everyone on my team, from the AA to MLB harping on my ass besides the three-four people I created (because I actually paid them good) I bought it new for a deal. Like about the price of a used. Hence, why I bought new. Oh and here's the NL East: Expos -> 20-7 Marlins -> 15-11 Braves -> 12-13 Philles -> 10-15 Mets -> 10-16 So I think my Expos are much better than you give credit for. Although I've got 133 RS and only 54 RA, that's not realistic of how I've played. When my team gets its bats going, I win huge; when the bats are cold, I struggle to win. My record would be closer to 14-13 if I didn't pitch like greatness.

Actually, Canadian teams in the finals would go over fine, but you NEED to make drama out of it. You need to make it seem like these Canadian teams want to kill each other and drink the other team's blood in the top of the Cup when it is all said and done. People are suckers for TEH DHRAMAH~! as most US people I know can actively recall the brawl that just happened between Nashville and Calgary and the Vancouver Incident. If it has a hell of a story that can be bought, then it will sell, regardless if it is an All-Canadian Final.

But with a TSM Guild, it would make things a lot easier as we could band together to make life a lot easier for everyone who plays. I play AC2 and frankly, I enjoy my Guild because we do just that. You need help, and we do so. It would make life a lot easier.

Whoa, whoa, whoa there Thuggy. Now then you got me working with theories? I'll have you know I failed Physics 20 (Physics for Grade 11 if you will) 5 times in a row, so please don't tell me it's a theory. *shudders* I've wnat to slap you for saying going into that kind of detail. Excuse me, but WHAT DETAILS? I gave barebone descriptions at best, as to let the example Insane Luchadore have just an idea of where they want to go. How can you tell me that this is hard to do? It took me, what? Four minutes to do? You don't even have to do that much, the person SHOULD be following the federation, shouldn't they? I just put it there, because I was assuming Insane Luchadore (the example) had asked for the info, and plus, I'd be covering my explanation. You can just say, they came off their feud, with so and so, that should cover bases. Here's where I get to look smart and suggest something to counter this problem. You remember those rankings that you have? Make even more use of them, by making them how the feuds work. Since Toxxic is #1 ranking person here right now, he'd get the prime cut of feuds. Whoever is #2 (unless whom Toxxic wishes to feud). This way, the more active people get the more active feuds. If someone's at the bottom of the rankings, then they have to work harder to get more rewards by choosing whom they'd like to feud with. The lower you are, the less your chances of getting a feud you want are. Yes, that seems hypocritical since it smacks a lot of people, and could create a "clique" but it also builds the need for people to get off their asses to do stuff. This would then bring back the competition thing, because being the best means you get what you want. Yes, this means that in a month's time, a feud might be over. Unless we do the rankings for every PPV, which would make more sense, since that's usually when blowoffs or backburners (we finished our feud, but IT'S NOT OVER YET; we just moving on for now) are. For newcomers, they have to get a ranking before their fate can be decided. This way then, we get drifters for people who've got nothing better to do and decide "hey, let's take so and so and add them to what we are doing". Or we can get fair judgement of someone before we give them a major angle. Half the problem with SWF that I'm seeing is the competition is taken from it. Some people just don't have the creative fire, so why not try a competitive route to go with the rankings and giving people who work their asses off, the prime cuts of the SWF. Might help with the creative fire people are lacking. If they don't follow the federation, then how do we expect them to actively contribute? Besides, I don't want you guys (CC) to except everything to be done by you alone. Yes, a Listings Thread would be wonderful, and is a great idea. Edit: And yes, I'm being an ass. I know this, but when I get passionate about an idea, I kinda go full out on the ego scale. I apologize for being an ass ahead of time. -
True. Or at least till Toronto goes against Ottawa, then he'd play. You'd wanna know what would be really weird? Eastern Finals have: Toronto vs. Ottawa Western Finals have: Edmonton vs. Calgary With the guys who've always come out last winning it so we'd get... Stanley Cup Finals: Ottawa vs. Calgary Who wouldn't say that just is really weird and COULD possibly happen depending on where Ottawa and Toronto finish, as well as where Edmonton and Calgary finish.

I'm not doing too bad with my Montreal Expos. My only bitch is chemistry. I've got almost everyone on my team complaining (especially Orlando Cabrea) about pay, and they then turn around and are bitching about how awful it is. Then, I have people bitching about playing time, since playing time for them sucks ass. Man, I've got so many players complaining about playing time. I don't understand why Cabrea is bitching about his playing time, since he's been playing nonstop besides a freaking injury. Nick Johnson was doing the same, but the guy was freaking injuried and I wasn't about to play him. I'm getting to the point where I want to trade half of my freaking team. Ugh... Thankfully, I built some created players (no, they aren't godly, beside Chris Morris) and sent their asses to the minors. I'll probably have to call up every single minors player I've got because dammit, everyone's just bitching. I'm loving every freaking minute of the game.

First of all, sick dude he is. Second of all: How about this? We have CC come around and go up to people saying (like IL), [WARNING: EXAMPLES AHEAD, WITH IL BEING THE FOCUS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, I'M ALSO ASSUMING THAT IL IS HEEL AND MAKE UP A LOT OF THIS] "We've got Coy, Grappler, Aecas, Alan Clark, Toxxic, Va'iaga, Johnny Dangerous, Maddix, Todd and Wild Child, are in some feuds coming up. The others have current plans going on that we can't tell you about, since they wish to keep them secret. We've got drifters in James, Annie, Janus, and Thugg as drifters. Here's what's going on with them: James is coming off of a loss against Aecas and is kinda down in the dumps about losing a high profile match like that. Insane Luchadore, perhaps you can be the guy who kicks James while he's down and out by continually referring to that loss and proclaim that you could defeat Aecas whereas James can't. Might be an idea for you. Annie is coming off her win against Coy for the USJL Championship and is looking for a #1 Contender once again. Since you are a former USJL Champion, you could be the itch in her side by winning the #1 Contendership, and since she's all about being the "Hardcore Queen" sink to those 'insane' depths you can go to, and be bugging her about how she may think she's all Hardcore, but your damn well INSANE~! Which of course makes you better than her by default. Janus is coming off a disappointing loss to John Duran in their recent feud. Apparently, Terrance is back in control and you, Insane Luchadore, decide that Janus would be a perfect canidate for you climbing up the ladder of the SWF roster. You make Terrance out to be nothing more than just that rung on that ladder, because if he can't beat Duran, how does he expect to beat your sorry ass. Well, it'll be sorry, because you'll start up Janus once again, but hey, you can deal with it there. Thugg is just returning to the SWF after being banished forever. How does he get back? Well, he found a convinent loophole, and has come back to being a babyface (if you can ever say that Thugg had a face that was babyish), but needless to say he is BACK~! However, you don't like that IL and hence you are going on a mission to finish up what Alan Clark started (since Clark is tied up in his own feud), since you'd like to stick it up Clark's ass that you managed to put Thugg away for good." See? Instead of picking at random a superstar, you give them the full amount of superstars to deal with. Plus, instead of blabbering what Clark is doing, you just explain that he's tied up in his feud. For those that are missing, they've already got plans, so if you or someone else wants to find out if they can join in or do something, all they have to do is ask the appropriate person this. ...yes, I just wrote out the above paragraph becuase I can't explain things very well. -

Thanks Goodear. I just wanted to make sure about that, as I thought it was, but I had to check bases and make sure on that. -
BTW, I find the call for Belak appropriate, since it has been said that Belak is a repeat offender, hence, he gets a stiffer punishment. I don't know when he caused the first incident(s), I'm just commenting on what I heard the Hockey Panel on Hockey Central (SportsNet Channel, 23 Cable, Shaw) said about Belak. So since he's a repeater, he gets the length deserved. Still though, if it wasn't Belak, I could see it being less than 8, and being more like 4-5. I think Enforcers do get frowned at, yet a star does it, like Messier (who was), they get special treatment.

Lightning Flik replied to HVilleThugg's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I have no complaints. However, as I stated in another thread and to Thoth and Z, I'm not going to be your greatest assest. I'm here to try and redeem my struggling self. Simply put, I'm starting at square one. I'm not going to be the guy you all can depend on to be there 24/7. I'm here to try to get back to being able to write with ease 3500. I can't unless it is like this, meaningless nothing (I'm talking about this post, not the matches). That's me currently, this doesn't come to me easily. At least, putting it on paper or simulation paper... Or what have you. So I ask CC and everyone to please understand that I'm not meaning to do this on purpose or anything. I want to do this, all I need to do is shake off a ton of rust and writer's block. I promise to you that I will work my ass off. I still want to do this as I love this place. Hence, I apologize for busting screwing up ahead of time, and hopefully, I can do some something for you guys. ...that's about all I have to say. -
SWF Storm Card, March 27th
Lightning Flik replied to the.weej's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
The guy with all the #1 Contenderships and pretty much better than me vs. The guy who can't write himself out of a paper bag. I'm so dead. BTW Johnny, I wonder what CC has planned to get you all of your Contenderships going. I mean, maybe they are going to have it where there's like this quad-threat, and it is you versus Toxxic versus Alan Clark versus Grappler. All titles up for grabs. I just tossed Grappler in there since you might as well toss the SWF World Title in there somehow. -
I'd just like to say that I apologize for the no-show. It is not your stip that made me fail Grand Slam, because your stip was just fine. In fact my no-show is a result in that I don't really have much to go with myself. Ok, that last little bit didn't make much sense. So let me explain. As I told Z and probably only other person Thoth, I haven't written anything fun and entertaining since the IGNJL days. Yah, it has been that long. Hence, my writing flat out just isn't where it used to be today. As I told them, and now telling you and everyone else, I will most likely no-show now and then, not on purpose, but because writing isn't as easy flowing as I used to have it. I'm still trying to get myself back into a flow of how to write. How to describe stuff, and frankly just have a good time writing. That isn't a good way to come back to the SWF, since the demand for output is pretty damned well needed to be AWESOME, but I'd having to try working my way back into this. And yes, I thought about putting in a single lined bullshit thing saying that I win, but that's just cheap. Bullshitting something like that is just as bad as a no-show. Did I really win? No. Did I earn that win? No. I at least certainly didn't deserve to win if all I was going to do is write up a one-liner match. I'm trying to work my way back into this. Hence why I said I'd just like to do this in "baby-steps". Since that's about on-par with where my writting skills are right now. So please excuse me. I guess I should come on out and stated this so that maybe some people would understand.

Let me tell you three things that make yours more enjoyable of a stay: At least you aren't playing on a team that rivals the Jays (no offense Jays fans, I just mean we start strong, but falter pretty damn badly), getting severely underpaid (and I'm QUITE certain that Memphis won't be able to sign me if arbitration goes my way [which it will]), and you pretty much only have two of your teammates doing ANYTHING (which probably are fellow TSMers, I'd have to check, can't remember) and hence, your team basically has YOU doing everything. Hell, I'd kill to be a Jackoff, just because I know I'd have a chance to win.

If their morales are at 30%, do either: a) Some time off if you've been over using them b) Try hyping them up to make them feel "special". Via angles, interviews, videos, whatever gets the job done. or c) They just are being pissiant bastards and nothing you can do, so just make them perianiel jobbers (if on written contracts) then release their asses when it is done. I'd use C only if A or B have prove false.
