Kansas losing hurts me big time in the yahoo league, but oh well I'm fine with MSU moving on. And while I hate UNC them drubbing Gonzaga still brings a smile to my face.

That news makes my day. I was just telling somebody the other day how I wouldn't mind if the Shamwow guy was hit by a bus.

Well the first round of games tonight sure was boring. (Yeah yeah SYR/OKLA has 8 minutes left, it's not going to redeem itself in that time.) I still want Gonzaga to get curb stomped, so I have to hope for Kanas/MSU to be good.

The one causing troubles up here thankfully it's a SUPER DE-DUPER MEGA VOLCANO OMG but it has erupted like 9 times now and while we still haven't gotten ash in Anchorage the lower Kenai Peninsula has gotten plenty, and it's fucked up air travel pretty badly.

I've never made myself throw up to avoid a hangover, but I can say that the times I've thrown up from drinking the hangover has been mild or non-existent.

Multivitamin and water before I fall asleep usually helps A LOT. And after I wake up my favorite cure is a chicken strip basket from Dairy Queen. Works very well for me to settle my hangover stomach.

I'm not sure where this 'Duke doesn't graduate athletes' thing comes from. 2009 sweet 16 team graduation rates Note that Duke is tied for the top rate of the 16 schools. Thinking maybe they had a problem graduating other atheletes outside of basketball or something I kept reading and while their basketball graduation rate is 89%, their overall student athlete graduation rate is 97%. So how exactly is that a bad thing? And the formatting doesn't work to paste the chart showing overall student athlete graduation, but the jist of it for Duke is that they graduate 97% of their student athletes (highest of the sweet 16 teams), 86% of their black basketball players (tied for highest) and 100% of their white basketball players (tied for highest). So unless I'm missing something huge (which i never deny is possible) Duke is graduating kids just fine, so complain about the media love or something, not the academics please.

I have no idea, and hopefully somewhere along the line it gets shot down before it gets enacted. I think the main thing behind it is 'why the fuck do we need DST?' which I completely understand, if we were a stand alone nation we wouldn't need it, and I hate it myself. But as long as the majority of the US is on it we need to be on it. On the upside on June 21 the sun would set around 11 instead of close to midnight. On the downside it'll rise at like 4. Fuck that noise. But more importantly fuck being even further behind the lower 48.

ESPN showed the video. I'm usually on the police side of things, but not in this case. It's not just a case of some guy trying to get out of a ticket by claiming he had to go to the hospital. A car full of people all had the same story, they were AT the hospital, and a fucking nurse came out and told the cop the same story. Then another cop showed up and told the cop he should probably let him go. The guy got a bug up his BUTT and he probably should lose his job for it, or at least suspension and some re-training or something. I'm as anal as they come about traffic laws, but safely blowing a red light to get to a dying relative is a-ok in my book.

It's a one deal a week thing they recently started, and I don't know if they're going to continue doing it or for how long. Hell I'm not sure there was even a deal this week, and it'd only be week 3 or 4.

A bill to get rid of Daylight Saving Time in Alaska just passed the state house. I hate DST, but we need to keep it until the rest of the country ditches it. Being 4 hours behind the east coast can be bad enough sometimes, like when the customer service number you have to call has hours of 9-5 eastern time. And as much as I've been sleeping in lately, I don't need baseball games starting at 8am.

I don't think I've had any really crazy drunken nights. I'm a dull drunk. Best I've got is the time I went to my Russian co-worker's birthday party and learned that no matter how much Vodka you may drink, you'll never be able to keep up with the Russians. I made the mistake of being the first non Russian to arrive, so I got introduced to everybody else, and so for every toast (which seemed to be every 5 minutes) guess who was the only non Russian getting called over? Half of the guys can't speak English but they could yell SMUES COME TOAST. I was puking in the bathroom before the party had really even gotten started. First time I ever threw up from drinking before I got home first. Don't try to out drink the Russians, you'll fail.
