I just figured shit-talking in MMA is basically all a work to draw extra interest in the fight.

Tried catching the online feed toward the end of the game but only got the dreaded "Connecting to Server..."

IIRC, that Funk/Poffo match is excellent. It's on one of CV's old Best of the WWF Volumes. Poffo has the fro going into overdrive.

In theory, Punk can win the ECW Championship and cash in for the WWE Championship.

They should plug Teddy Long danceoffs for every market as an After-Raw delight. Fuck random 6-man tags. Just have Long call out the most random people to come dance w/ him after Raw goes off the air . . . Burchill/Lea one week, Duggan another, Batista the next, JBL the week after, ect. -

Well, it was slightly less akward than Bush dancing with the Africans. And far less awkward than Hacksaw Jim Duggan hosting WWE Kiss Cam -
Medium rare sirloin hits the spot for me from time to time.

For no technical reason at all, I feel very confident about my Scott Norton selection.

It feels like the WWF Magazine w/ Heenan on the cover has been out for 3 months in PTW time. I know on the Challenge shows during this time, Heenan tirelessly would plug the magazine every chance he'd get even saying "I'm on the cover" just as the show would fade to black. Tremendous. God bless torrents for letting me download many of these PTWs. I should note I mark for every time Gorilla refers to someone as "a piece of garbage"

AWA Wrestling back on the air

"I am the greatest wrestling manager in the universe . . . not the world, the universe!" - DDP in his AWA debut -
It was his ode to Owen Hart from WMX.

I wonder if Vicky ends up getting dethroned as Smackdown GM leaving Regal and Vicky to hook up and try to regain their power.

The fans (well I'd like to think most of them) just play along to Sheik and Volkoff's antics. -
44 years and counting for Cleveland sports. LeBron couldn't have done more for that team. Do the Celtics have any black fans other than Randy Moss? The Garden looked like 20,000 clones of the PC from the Mac commercials. Annnnnnddddddd fuck Boston fans. I'm guessing the Browns will lose to the Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs this coming year just to complete the cycle.

SoCal Val was on the Girls of Stare last night. Tremendous.

If anyone has a spare 5-10 minutes to kill, the Super Crazy vs Burchill/Lea match on Heat is actually quite the treat. Crazy's comeback was pretty slick as was the dickish behaviors of Burchill/Lea. Plus, Lea has done a good job of not drawing any sympathy when a face ruffles her up a bit. Reminicent of Sensational Sherri where as much as Hogan would kick her ass, no one would feel the least bit sorry for her cause you knew the bitch was going to get up and be meaner and louder than ever the next show. -

Let's Talk About...Vince Russo's first stint booking WCW
MillenniumMan831 replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I may be the only one on TSM who enjoyed the 32-man WCW Championship Tournament. Does it age well? I'm sure it's horrendous now. But it was intriguing at the time which was a HUGE step up from the summer of 1999. Russo did wonders for the WCW midcard. He gave every on-air talent some sort of purpose and direction. Did a lot of it miss? Sure, but I'd rather he swing and miss than just be complacent. Remember, this was before Russo was exposed and we knew he was completely unadaptable. When thinking of Russo's 1st run, think of the summer of 1999 and ask yourself which was more tolerable. -
Not a bad lineup at all. Some retreads from the 300K days but I'll take the upgrades w/ a smile. Looking forward to giving the Pillman/Lyger and Snuka/Backlund matches a peek.

I hate hearing about him ALL the time. I'm tired of having him shoved down my throat anytime I watch anything sports or NBA-related. I'm tired of people trying to claim he's better than Jordan (guess what? Jordan never lost a finals let alone get swept!) It has nothing to do with other people liking him. People like Chris Paul, I like Chris Paul. I've been told Lebron James is the best player in the NBA since he was in HS. I'm tired of it. I react badly when someone is crammed down my throat. You have no idea what a verbal bj is until you've heard Austin Carr call a Cavs game on the FSN Ohio feed. "L-TRAIN taking all five defenders to the hole, consequently, he was fouled for the AND ONE!!!" That said, I love it.

Fuck those honky Boston chachis in the crowd.

Funny they spent two months hyping it and followed it up by not mentioning it at all after the event. That weekend, they started hyping up the Slammies and didn't give Survivor Series a 2nd thought until the next year's Survivor Series.

Garnett was looking quite salty last night. Boston better pray LeBron doesn't get into "Game 5 2007 Eastern Conference Finals" mode on Wednesday. I would imagine the way the Cleveland PA guy yells "TTHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" after every Cav 3 would annoy non-Cav fans.
