I did think it was odd that Jesse was clear on the other side of the ring yelling at Festus.

I enjoy Kenny Roda of ESPN 850 here in Cleveland. But that's mostly because he does a sweet John Lucas impression that he'll bust out from time to time. *raspy as shit, ready to lose his voice* We gotta get the bigs like Ildrunas Zygowskas in the game.

The OAO Impact Thread (4.10.08)
MillenniumMan831 replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in TNA Wrestling
I dunno, based on tonight's match, Consequences Creed really does nothing for me. He may grow on me but he just seems kinda blah, especially when in there w/ Jimmy Rave. -
I got be honest, I'm curious to see how the Undertaker/Festus match goes. I read the spoilers but I'm still intrigued to see how the match plays out.

I remember a PTW ep where Monsoon happily announced that they would be bumped to Friday due to the Westminster Dog Show to which Heenan gets pissed off. Monsoon just chuckles as only he can.
-
First dumb question of the thread - So which promotions does HDNET have rights to air live events with? I know they air IFL and I remember seeing the Strikeforce show w/ Bob Sapp a while back. I would have sworn I've seen other smaller level promotions on its network but I can't remember for sure.

That was fuckin awesome. May as well have been Barry Hardy and Duane Gill by the way that match turned out.
-
And my #1 concern is that they better have Knox put over Stevie on his way out.
-
He's way too pretty to be from Cleveland.

Just got done watching IC Title Part X. Good stuff seeing Tornado treat Perfect how Perfect treats jobbers by bullying his mangled face to the camera and trash talking. EDIT - They did indeed archive the Raws - http://www.wwe.com/subscriptions/247online/raw/

I scan through it but I can rarely sit through an entire ep, even if it's only 1/2 hour. -
Thank goodness they're at least archiving the specials. I don't know why it's so hard for them to archive the individual matches though. That or if they really wanted to be gems, they could upgrade the 300k vids to make them 750k. Ah, that'd be paradise.

Ric Flair just did the starting lineup for the Hornets. CHRIS BY GOD PAUL, WOOOOOOO!!! -
I can relate to that. Bad enough to be caught on the internet at work but to have it on the fuckin WWE website is the pitiful pits.
-
I skimmed through it to see the lineup: Mr. Perfect vs Texas Tornado (SuperStars Feb 91) Mr. Perfect vs Shawn Michaels (Super Stars & Stripes Special) Mr. Perfect vs Big Bossman (WM VII) Mr. Perfect vs Bret Hart (SummerSlam 91) I watched the 2 Raws. Heenan just doesn't seem the same now that he has no meal ticket given Luger is a face now. I mean he's getting behind Yokozuna but I missed the days where he'd have an 'investment' of a wrestler (Heenan Family, Flair, Luger). The Headshrinkers look like they're having so much fun squashing shlubs. Such tremendous squashes. Venkman, how could you forget to list: The Bobby Heenan Show - Debut Episode July 17, 1989 | Approx. run time: 24 mins. Before The Highlight Reel, The Cutting Edge and even The Barber Shop, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan hosted his own show, rightfully called "The Bobby Heenan Show." While David Letterman and Johnny Carson didn't have to worry about their jobs, we promise you that this is one of the most entertaining programs in the history of WWE. Bonus Features: Exclusive introduction by WWE's current brain Matt Striker. Any predictions on the 15th's lineup? I'm sure the 2 Raws are a given including Michaels vs Jannetty once more to settle the score. I'm thinking another Flair video will be in the works (a match called by Solie I reckon) as well as videos involving the rest of the Hall of Fame Class of 2008 . . . wonder if we'll see Johnnie Mae Young give birth to a hand in crystal clear 750k quality.

Did anyone else spot Vladimir (sp?) in the crowd before the 8-man tag? I swear that guy hasn't aged a day in over 20 years.
-
If the machine gets behind Punk a bit more, they can have a Cena/Punk dream match in a couple years.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that was the last episode hosted by Monsoon/Heenan . . . if you don't count the Las Vegas special. I remember getting up super early on Sundays when I was a kid to go to church. They had a 8:30 service and a 11:00 service. Challenge started at 10. If I went to the early service, I'd be home in time to see most of the show. If it was late service, a segment or two tops and just a plain bummer to have to leave while the show was still going on.

I think it was when he dropped the 2nd A and became merely Armando Estrada.
-
The interviews never actively bore me. They're only a few minutes long. They remind me of an easter egg of a dvd. Caught the 1st half of the 7/5/93 Raw . . . Interesting to note that once Bill Fralic actually got Yokozuna up off one foot, Hebner dashed in to break up the attempt. First he gets hosed out of the WM2 battle royal, now this. Also, the 1-2-3 Kid and Blake Beverly had one hell of a match. Kudos to both. I thought it would be a 3-4 minute basic television rasslin match but these two lit it up with some innovative spots and a very nice heat segment. Put over both guys very well.

I think it had to do w/ Vince referring to Crush many times as "The Original Hawaiian Punch" Crush. But of course, they messed that up. I haven't had a chance to see most of these vids (currently on my lunch break) but damn, the source quality of the Hart/Flair match is putrid. Hopefully, they keep that off of IC Title Part XI. Looking forward to checking out the Johnson/Maivia matches as well as The Bobby Heenan Show.

I know it's a pipedream but I'd mark the fuck out if Dreamer wins the battle royal and defeats Chavo on the grand stage. -
I think that was Daivari that he made do all the squats.

I'm hoping the stream on Streams Mania doesn't crap out every 3-5 minutes.
