Did you meet very many non-theatre folk that were much better?

I know of one teacher at the Williams Bay high school that has been arrested twice for spousal abuse & after verbally attacking a student there repeatedly (the student, of course, was his own son) this was all brough to the attention of the adminstrator. He promptly took the information and tucked it, nice and neat, under the rug. The teacher is an active fundamentalist.

Everytime I visit Lake Geneva/Delevan/etc I feel like I'm in some kind of time-warp. The fundamental Christian bloc seems to have it's filthy grip clenched tight on alot of people there. It seems like a really twisted episode of Leave it to Beaver. I dread every visit.

Walworth County isn't known for it's educational system.

Maybe it's time for Czech to grab hold of some of that old Jack Kerouac vibe, drop out of school, and travel about the country. Just be an asshole and forget about your teachers & other supporting cast. Hit the damn road, man! Hitchhike, guzzle wine, and fuck girls you meet at Greyhound stations.

A new Tim Sandlin novel, Jimi Hendrix Turns 80, comes out in January. I like his stuff. Not really a pretentious fellow.

Poetry has agreed with me alot more since I decided to ignore everything that every English teacher/professor told me. Alot of English faculty seems to be ridiculously pretentious considering how little most have ever/will ever actually accomplish.

I should also mention that I think Corso is completey justified in his pretentiousness.

I saw Bernie Sanders make a speech here in Wisco during Fighting Bob Fest last year. It was very good.

The Iraq War is resembling the War On Drugs...a continuous, heavy spending mess where the sole purpose seems to be based on our leaders' refusal to admit that mistakes happen and they should be corrected. Even if a Presidential candidate was able to make such a speech as this on tv, even if America listened, even if that person were elected...with the military bases being built, the incredible amount of money involved, will we actually see an end to the Iraq War in the next 5 years? 10? 20? A good friend of mine, already scarred from the first two, will return to Iraq for the 3rd time early next year. By the time of the next presidential election, if he remains physically safe, he will probably have had more tours of Iraq than Dick Cheney had draft deferrments. Sad.

When he gets banned, will he return a half dozen times out of our jealousy?
