Well, I was trying to be sarcastic as thats all I feel people like Hannity, Rush, Moore, etc deserve...but Kotz went ahead and brought some brain to the thread with a nice little essay. Well said, and very true...people will never educate themselves listening to just one side, looking at neat pictures/graphics, and mindlessly bashing the opposition. Along with programs like newshour...I prefer getting news directly from cspan, where you can see exactly what the people are saying IN context.

Ah...Ive definitly encountered many of these people at malls. What ever happened to rock/metal music being about individualism and such? It seems like every new genre lately has seen its fanbase trying very hard to look as similiar to each other as possible. I did buy a t-shirt at hot topic once...it was a Smiths shirt.

I suppose Ill make a statement on this huge issue, being a libertarian and all... I respect Cindy Sheehan as a mother who lost a child to war, her feelings must be at times unbearable. I can only assume that she honestly believes that she is doing something good for a cause she believes in. I will not call her an 'attention whore', etc, as her loss was a brutal one. Unfortunately, she is defnitly going about some of this in the wrong way. Her decisions (particularly this State/Union fiasco) have hindered her efforts greatly. The SOTU speech is a pretty serious affair and she should realize that it is not the place for protest (or for wearing a shirt that will certainly draw the eyes of many). Whereas she could be doing something far more beneficial to her own cause (such as meeting as many servicepeoples' families as possible and organizing a large group to spread the word of problems within our military system) she has sadly chosen to take a Michael Moore-y route. Was it right for her to be dragged from the building? Maybe not. Should she have worn that shirt knowing it would only cause a scene and a problem. No. Protest should be a thoughtful stride towards progress...not a blind stab at the eyes of the public.

You might want to change the 'this Saturday' part... But, as far as the fight, Calzaghe has earned the label of 'coward' for good reason. This is the first time hes really stepped up in his entire long career. I do think it will be a good fight though...but Im pretty confidant that Lacy will win. Lacy, btw, had a quick cameo in the espn mobile commercial (the one with the guy on the phone walking through town with all the athletes) during the Superbowl.
