Don't forget the 10,000 + Iraqi's that have been killed..there again they don't count I guess. Before the situation in Iraq is resolved the coalition forces death toll is going ot be MUCH higher than 500. Uh, over a million Vietnamese died in the Vietnam War. I mean, seriously, there is no comparision for it. I mean, when we get into civi casualties, your case gets even worse because of the disparity in numbers. You do realize that the number of Vietnam casualties accounts for some 15 years of combat right? There is a difference between a year of occupation in Iraq and 15 in Vietnam. Its a really big difference too. This arguement of the similarities here is moot....15 and 1 are too far apart to consider total numbers. After dismissing this silly aruguement, you are left with the serious similarities/differences to discuss.

No idea right now...the Lollapalooza page is still all 2003. The press release says it will be considerably cheaper, but no solid details. Whatever the story turns out to be...the lineup is el dandy so far, more bands to come....I dont plan to miss it.

DMB is playing a couple nights at Alpine Valley here in Wisconsin. I was thinking about going with the hope that Ben Harper would open...but hes just doing the LA gigs or something. Guster is the opener....Ill see them at Bonnaroo, and solo Dave. Ill spend this 50$ on something else like Lollapalooza or Phil Collins.

Breeding a terrorism metroplois in Iraq seems to have really done the trick... Heck, terrorism is up and Americans are dying daily, but the War on Terror IS a success...

To hear a little bit of the extent of MC5's influence, check out covers of 'Kick Out The Jams' by RATM and Jeff Buckley. Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band - Get 'Trout Mask Replica', obviously. Also check out 'Songs for No One' by Gary Lucas/Jeff Buckley.
