    More Gay Marriage?

No, when I go vote I am not telling other people that they have to vote as I do. I am not saying that any individual can't run for office or can't vote for office because he doesn't live up to my personal feelings. What aren't you getting here?

    I'm enlisting in the Army.

I hope it works out like you've been told.

    More Gay Marriage?

They're applying their personal opinions to the lives of other people. That's the problem. It'll have to be crayon font if I have to type that up again.

    More Gay Marriage?

It seems too stupid to believe but that really is all there is to the anti-gay argument. It is an irrational argument based on irrational foundations (religion and "my comfort = your laws"). I hope that a few people have improved upon themselves since 2004, but I lack confidence. And how anybody can deny the struggle that gay people have faced when they can go to prison for years for having sex with one another is beyond me.

    Whose business?

    More Gay Marriage?

I agree, but I'm not necassarily trying to be 'productive' here. I am well aware that those that oppose gay marriage rights will not be swayed by messageboard posts; we've covered this particular ground many times before. I certainly hope I have my act toned down for my forthcoming Church Tour in an effort to hustle future votes.

I'd take that trrain if we were talking about slavery, rather than the denial of marriage rights based upon differences.

    More Gay Marriage?

Many homosexuals have been brutally murdered for being so and have spent decades trying to overcome those that would deny them rights solely based upon their differences. The comparisons are definitly apt, 909. And I have no desire to see my children taught that it is ok to have separate rights for people who better exemplify contemporary social mores.

    More Gay Marriage?

Do they give any particular reasoning for it?

    More Gay Marriage?

Nope. I'm not telling anybody that they have to be libertarian or can only marry the person they love if they're both libertarians. I can break out the crayon font if necessary.

    More Gay Marriage?

This is like if, two thousand years from now, the policy in a country is to force everybody to be gay and do ample Benzidrene because it was in really popular Jack Kerouac books of the 1950s. Well, to be more accurate, a Kerouac copycat from the 1990s.

They're allowed to read their book. They're not allowed to dictate others' lives based on what's inside of that book.

I sincerely hope that you actually didn't call someone's opinion "dead wrong." I did. It is.

I agree, and they (Obama included) are pathetic for doing so. But they pandering to the religious when they do shit like that. It is organized religion at the absolute center of this problem. And, remember, that organized religion is far from innocent of hypocrisy.

Being upfront about being dead wrong doesn't make you less dead wrong, or respectable. And I've already argued that Obama is guilty too. It doesn't matter if I voted for him, if I support him, or if I like a fair number of his ideas: He's wrong about gay marriage.

Where do you think all of that Yes rhetoric was originating, Atticus Chaos?

    More Gay Marriage?

You seem to drag out some variation of that tired line in every thread on this forum. Then you, and the rest of your fellow cult-followers and leaders, need to stop dictating other individuals lives based on millennia-old (and lifted from previous fiction at that!) stories that have long been used to direct hatred at women, homosexuals, etc. I used to go to church too, but my associations therein should not, ever, give me any motivation to stand myself up via oppression on another human being. I am not arguing that every member of every church is a hate-driven bigot (just as not every athelete is a steroid addict, not every rapper is affiliated with a gang, not every Wal Mart associate enjoys the goings on inside foreign sweatshops, etc) but that is not the point. The point is that it is organized religion that most exacerbates the problems of oppression over human beings. The Bible was a long-grasped crutch beneath the armpit of slavery, an irrational comdemnation of women persists to this day, and it is the Christian church, far moreso than any other entity, that fuels the hatred that we have seen cast towards homosexuals. If you would like to argue in Christianity's role in violent/oppressive homophobia or its borrowing of previously written Babylonian material for its major storybook, I might read it.

You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory

This turned out really bad. There are far more Ones to Watch in 2009 than I had previously thought.

People who don't believe that girls have cooties are also harboring distaste for organized religion.

Wont anybody even consider the precious feelings of those that wrote the Old Testament (plagiarized from others before them actually) way back in the day?

    The Concert Thread

Rothbury announced their lineup. I have no idea why they hired Bob Dylan to headline a night when a better Bob is right there in state.
