Just wanted to say that Green Day were awesome last week in Newcastle. Lots of stuff from "American Idiot" and a smattering of other hits. Great gig.

Ransom (9/10) A great thriller with a original central idea. Expertly directed by Ron Howard and featuring awesome performances from Gary Sinese and Mel Gibson.

It's still better than Kevin Costner's... Ok, I'll give you that. It was like he didn't even attempt to sound English. He did. Basically he knew he couldn't do a British accent, so he didn't bother. Cheadle was (I think) going for a Liverpudlian accent but it really wasn't there. To be honest, it seemed like an in-joke of some sort with the Ocean's Eleven bunch. No way was that a Liverpudlian accent. It had to be a bad attempt a cockney with the use of rhyming slang like "Barney Rubble".

My fingers are crossed for Chris Rock or DMX. And yes, I'm serious. Time to bring to an end this "James Bond is white" stereotype. That's stupid. The point is that the character is a British detective, and to make it accurate, they only use British actors. If you've got a black British actor to play the role and they play it straight, then fine. But if Chris Rock or DMX played James Bond, I would never watch the movie, ever. Don Cheadle can do a british accent He can a do a bloody awful British accent. It's like listening to Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

Office Space (9/10) A very funny film.

It was my understanding that early polls/focus groups indicated there was far less popular support for the decision than would have made it worth Hogan's time and effort; so, he dropped it. I thought the whole thing was just an angle to gain more publicity for Hogan and WCW going into the big Georgia Dome Nitro on the 4th of January.
