I had a similar experience prior to X3. In the preview when the guy did that BUTT-scrunch thing, a few of the audience gasped, while the rest laughed like it was the funniest thing ever. I don't see the connection between Keane and the Doves. Doves more of a melodic trippy feeling to it, whereas Keane is pure British adult-comtempo/pop music. Anyway, I've seen the Doves live twice and they were amazing both times. Elbow is another band worth checking out for their trippy, laid-back jazz/funk inspired stylings.
