  1. Pitching has changed. Teams use a 5 man rotation. Starters only go 6 innings. The bullpen is used more with long relievers, set up, left-handed specialist, and closers. Guillen is just foolish if he thinks this benefit the team in the long run. Pitchers today aren't developed to throw 120 pitches every night, and throw CG's. Look at A.J. Burnette. He was a workhorse in 2002. He's only know supposed to return in May.
  2. I remember how awful an actor that girl was. Guess somethings don't change.
  3. AS. Clemens and Pettite don't leave the Yankees don't sign Brown, and Vizquel. Which do would you rather have right know?
  4. Gettysburgh Eddie Plank The Fordham Flash-Frankie Frish Raja-Rogers Hornsby The Hitman-Mike Easler Ron "Papa Up" Jackson Mr. May-Dave Winfield
  5. I think Rob Neyer or someone did this last year. Hell, we might of done something similiar last season. I'll get my Twins/Nationals (Walter Johnson is on my team) lineup later today.
  6. The spirit of the Bartman Ball haunts the Cubs. Gotta give my brother credit if this true. He called the Tommy John surgery when Prior went down the achilles problem. Said there was a worse injury to Prior the Cubs weren't telling people about. Than the news of the elbow problem surfaces right before the season starts.
  7. Remaining schedules and tie breakers for playoff spots. West only. Please note overall record determines seedings after the first round. Minnesota-56-24 vs Utah, at Memphis Sacramento 55-25 at Denver, at Golden St. San Antonio 55-25 at Portland, vs Denver Los Angeles 54-26 vs Golden St, at Portland For the 5th seed. Memphis 50-30 at Dallas, vs Minnesota Dallas 50-30 vs Memphis, at Houston For the 8th seed Utah 42-38 at Minnesota, vs Phoenix Denver 42-38 vs Sacramento, at San Antonio Portland 41-39 vs San Antonio, vs LAL Two-Team Tiebreaker 1. Better record in head-to-head games 2. Higher winning percentage in conference games 3. Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference 6. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed Three-Team Tiebreaker 1. Best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied 2. Highest winning percentage in conference games 3. Highest winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Highest winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 5. Highest point differential between points scored and points allowed
  8. I sem to remember an Asain girl has backround character. Could be mistaken though.
  9. Pretty silly (especially Wedding In Las Vegas), but I enjoyed 'em (duh). And Zack's parents were seperated in the Ms. Bliss years, not in the TNBC continuity. He had a different actor playing his dad in the Ms. Bliss ep and all. Once they got bought by NBC that continuity went out the window. TAT imo was at her best during the Las Vegas wedding. Zack's originial dad was the Captain on ChiPS. I remember him dating Miss Bliss.
  10. The Red Sox did blow a 2-0 lead, going back to Boston for games 3-4-5. Than were 1 out away from winning in Game 6. Miami Hurricanes in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl against Penn St. They all showed up in military fatigue, and Vinny Testeverde threw 5 interceptions. The Detroit Red Wings in 95-96. Most wins in league history with 61. Didn't even make the Stanly Cup Finals. Can't remember who they lost to. Maybe Colorado.
  11. Guess Stern forgets he was fined 1.7 million when Clinton was President. This is not a partisan subject, and if Kerry win the Presidency nothing will change. Both the left-wing and right-wing have people offended by Stern and other shows. Personally I think Stern just wants to leave the air with a bang. Go down has some crusader for the first amendment. When really he only cares about what happens to him.
  12. Don't forget the next scene with Senor Spielbergo.
  13. I remember that game. No knock on Wells, but his was about the easiest perfect game someone could of pitched. The lineup for the Twins in that game was horrible. I'm thinking most of us could of at least gotta a CG.
  14. Mel Ott doesn't even wear a hat. Same goes for Cy Young, Jesse Burkett, and others from the early days of the game.
  15. Why were Zack's parents divorced at first, and than still married in a later episode? What happened to the homeless family? Why were they friends with screech? Why did the school consist of 1 classroom? One hallway? and the Principal's office? Why during graduation where the 6 names conventially read together? Most graduations I know go in alphabetical order. Why did Kelly break up with Zack for that creep Jeff, and why didn't call the police on Jeff for committing statatory rape? Why wasn't Rod Belding on more episodes? Why did it seem like the same 2 or 3 teachers taught every class?
  16. Also Homer jumping into Bart's room screaming "Hey Bart wanna see my new chainsaw and hockey mask!" cracks me up every time. My favorite scene is when Lisa thinks Sideshow Bob drugged Homer. "Oh no, Dad's been drugged". Marge in annoyed voice. "No he hasn't
  17. Expanding on the Yankees and Baseballl in general. Montreal Canadians have had plenty. The best imo. Is the Scotty Bowman led teams that won from 76-79. 11 HOFers. The win totals, 58,60, 59, 52. During the 4 year run. They scored 1420 goals, and allowed only 732. The 1976-1977 team was the arguably the greatest single season team ever. 60-8-12. Most points in a single season. 387 goals scored, and only 171 allowed.
  18. Chris Porter was arrested for possession of cocaine. Nowitzki really doesn't compare to any player in Barkley's day. The 7'0 swingman, who could just has easily knock down a 3 pointer, has block a shot or pound on the boards.
  19. Right know I think the Spurs and Lakers has the only 2 teams that can win the title. The Pacers would have home court, but I don't think they've faced the competiton has the Western conference, and this group hasn't gone very far in the playoffs.
  20. Rusty LaRue's gotta be around 28. Seems a little old to be in the NBDL. Gotta think Jason Caple will eventually follow the career path of his Dad and older brother.
  21. What's remarkable is the run the Yankees has a team had between 1936-1964. Never more than 3 years without at least appearing in the World Series. Only 7 times they at least didn't make the World Series.
  22. Does anyone if Extra innings includes every team? My brother wants to know if he can get Twins games, before we order.
  23. Groening said it's not 1 state. The town in Oregon is essentially the model town he used. Either way it's fun conversasion. They had a hurricane in the town, and the town celebrated it's bicentennial in like 1995 or 1996.
  24. I believe it was more the Devil Rays paying Boggs to go in has a D-Ray.
  25. I saw Mel Kiper saying Lee Evans was expected to be a mid-first round pick. Not a big deal, just something I thought I'd point out.
