Oregon just torched Michigan for 61 yards for a 1-play TD drive. They're up 32-7.
-
Faked Statue Of Liberty by Oregon for a walk-in TD by the QB. The Ducks are completely fucking the Wolverines, 25-7 near the end of the 2nd.
-
That Oregon QB is a hell of a scrambler. He turned a potential sack on 3rd down into about a 15-20 yard gain and a 1st down

My keepers are: Carmelo Anthony Elton Brand Brandon Roy PS- Someone please PM me when draft-time rolls around. I'm here for the KKK Bowl and Bored Championship Series, but I don't read a lot of other threads. -EDIT - Within 20 minutes of the post, I chose Brandon Roy to retain over TJ Ford. If this is a problem, I'll just retain Ford instead.

Louisville's post-MTSU outlook could be affected by how next week's LSU-MTSU game goes. If LSU completely shuts down MTSU's offense and kills them, Louisville's poll ranking is pretty much crap unless they beat Rutgers and/or West Virginia. (Ironically, MTSU is a replacement on LSU's schedule for App State, who were scheduled to play the Tigers on Sept. 1 before ESPN insisted that LSU-Miss State take place on August 30 as their feature Thursday game to start the season. The only reason I even remember this is that my LSU calendar, printed at the end of 2006, has the original schedule of App State, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State on it instead of the current schedule of Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee State U.)

Huh? News to me. They were 15th ranked in total offense last year, not great but nowhere close to "no offense". This said, the Chargers should win. Da Bears had a *sporadic* offense. When Grossman was on, they'd score 40 points. When he was off, he'd fumble 4 snaps and throw some INTs.

The problem with that is that the representatives don't want to have all the other agents telling potential clients "These guys screwed us all by having the #1 pick sign a sub-par deal. Don't sign with them." This kind of crap happened earlier this year when Brady Quinn's contract wasn't signed, as the agent wanted to break the slotting process for Quinn and the team didn't want to blink. If Russell wants to take what's on the table, or try to work something out on his own, he may want to dismiss his current agents and negotiate the deal himself.

His solution is to hold out and completely miss his chance to win the starting job? Brilliant! 1. Would YOU want the starting job with the Raiders' current O-line? 2. If you were the #1 overall pick, would you walk in and tell your agents "roll over and take whatever is offered" or let them do their job?
-
Russell wants to play and supposedly thinks there's progress in the talks. The question is whether the problem is in Oakland (old bastard Al Davis being cheap) or in his representation (they've never done a 1st overall pick contract before).

The best argument of my three for a collapse in the program after an LSU loss would be Miami. Miami may have been teetering post-Louisville, but the LSU game was one of the worst drubbings in their history and, more importantly, the post-game brawl in the tunnel at the Georgia Dome was the beginning of the end for Larry Coker's career at The U. Several Hurricanes tried to beat up LSU WR Dwayne Bowe after the game and failed miserably, ending up in the hospital for their trouble. (Bowe is a Miami native and had ribbed some Miami players he played against in HS a little bit. Some other members of the Miami team didn't take too kindly to that and started a fight.) That was a warning sign that Coker was losing control well before the embarrassment of the Florida International game.

LSU says "You're welcome." Illinois hasn't quite been the same since a low-rated LSU team went to the Sugar Bowl in Jan. 2002 and beat their asses. (Same goes for Miami in the 2005 Peach Bowl and Notre Dame in the Jan. 2007 Sugar Bowl.)

I was slightly surprised as well. Usually when a team starts out the year rated, the pollsters are loathe to drop them out even when they shit the bed to start the year. Michigan's aura of invulnerability being shattered this early in the year puts most of the Big Ten behind the eight-ball perception-wise. (Ohio State is getting punished for Michigan's loss because it hurts their SoS, as Michigan is the toughest team they're supposed to face all year.) The only Big Ten team not hurting image-wise right now, IMHO, is Wisconsin because Bielema appears to be a good coach and they didn't seem to lose much from last year beside LT Joe Thomas.
-
I'll argue against Miami being considered a top team in the ACC Costal for the time being. They've got a new coach in Randy Shannon but I wouldn't sell them as being on par with V-Tech or the Ramblin' Wreck yet.
-
As opposed to the ones that will pop up if WV and beats Rutgers and/or Louisville to win the Big East? VT's fans are stupid, but the WVU fans are some of the worst this side of Ohio State when it comes to senseless property damage. (All those poor couches getting burned...)

It's the biggest non-conf. game of the year because they're both Top 10 teams. As of now, there's no other non-conf. game between two top 10 teams on the horizon, especially since ND got ass-raped by Georgia Tech. However, there's a potential Top 5 matchup between LSU and Florida on the horizon in a few weeks if both go undefeated to that point... but that's a conference game and ESPN will ignore it since it's not USC-Cal or Ohio State-Michigan.

24-18 Clemson. Things were falling apart for them, but the Clemson O has gotten moving again.
-
FSU is turning things around, with a little help from Clemson. It's now 24-11 thanks to a FSU TD and a Clemson safety off a botched punt snap.
-
... This is the gang that can't shoot straight. FSU stopped Clemson in their territory, but they got an incidental facemask on the play, giving Clemson 5 yards and another shot at the 3rd down.
-
Clemson answers with a kickoff return to the FSU 28. This is going to get uglier in a hurry.
-
FSU blocks a Clemson punt and moves it to the 20. Can they convert on this? EDIT- Not as of yet... They blew 3 plays at the 20 and now have it on 4th down around the 18. FG from about 35 out.
-
And FSU continues to pull failure from the jaws of mediocrity, as they blew at least two good chances at a first down and Spiller keeps pulling Reggie Bush moves out of his ass to juke the FSU defenders.
-
I wasn't denying it was an upgrade I was just wondering about the degree of the upgrade... It was hard to separate Jimbo's weird calls from Miles and Saban until he left.
-
WOW... They got a 1st down run for 9.75 yards and ended the drive 2 plays later at 4th and 6 on a HUGE stop up the middle and a sack.
-
Only 1 first down for FSU tonight? I think they're about 3 quarters away from marking Jimbo "Return to sender".
-
Not sure about that... I was too busy watching the Free Shoes U defense get punked.
