IIRC, they were free yesterday but are pay today.

Damn straight. Already had most of the sets, so I picked up Dark Angel and Roswell. I've seen the entire first season of Dark Angel because my sister has it, although I've never seen Roswell. I hear the first season was good though. In a month or two, I may break down and buy Buffy and Angel... I've seen Buffy seasons 1 and 2, but not the first season of Angel.

Moore Laying Low, wants Dems to run a celeb

I think Richard Dryfuss would be another one, although I don't agree with Rob Redford being a good public figure. Maybe Mikey can make this into some sort of reality show: "Democrat Idol" or something... I feel that Redford has the tools to pull it off, although his public image is to the point where he can't get any crossover votes as he's severely pissed off a lot of Republicans. -
Movies like Poltergeist pissed off a lot of people because they were on the borderline between PG and R but went with the tamer PG rating. Around 1984, the PG-13 rating was invented and one of the first movies to use that rating was Red Dawn. Indiana Jones, IIRC, was the first huge film to get that rating, mainly due to the heart-pulling scene.

Graphic violence probably took off around the time Sam Pekinpah made The Wild Bunch in the late 60s. The "Tits and Laffs" category probably came the next year when MASH (1970) came out and had the "Hotlips Houlihan in the shower" scene, which eventually lead to Porky's, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Revenge of the Nerds. Gratiutous verbal abuse probably took off around the time of Brian DePalma's version of Scarface (1983), which was written by Oliver Stone. Not so coincidentally, that's about the same time that Eddie Murphy's film career took off as well.

I'd pay to see the Bolivian army to take out Redford for real. -
24 season one, The Shield season one, Futurama season one, and Dark Angel season one rock IMHO. The Simpsons and In Living Color season one are mediocre compared to what followed IMHO. King Of The Hill, Millenium, and MASH are all average. Haven't seen Angel or Roswell. MASH peaked around season 3 then went into the crapper. Dark Angel went totally into the crapper after the incredible first season ended, as they retooled the entire premise of the show for no good reason and killed the series.

This may be reading too much into it, but I think someone is mistakenly trying to create a Democrat version of Reagan without finding one who can make any damn sense politically. They're thinking that Reagan's status as an ex-actor is what got them elected and made them successful instead of his strong political philosophy and the fact that he was the governor of the nation's largest state for 8 years. Tom Hanks won't run because he still has a career. No one gives a shit about Paul Neuman anymore. Martin Sheen already has a backlash from speaking an unpopular point of view while playing the President on The West Wing. Robert Redford is the one actor who strikes me as being good politician material. However, he'd have no crossover appeal due to his blatant shilling for the Left over the years, his bitching about Bush winning, and his misuse of his Sundance channel to promote the Democratic agenda. -
Fox and Buy.com are offering the first seasons of quite a few TV shows on DVD at $14.99 for 11/23/2004 through 11/29/2004. This is similar to a recent promotion done at Amazon.com. The shows involved include: 24 MASH The Shield Buffy The Vampire Slayer King Of The Hill The Simpsons Angel In Living Color Millenium Futurama Dark Angel Roswell These titles are eligible for free shipping as well as a 6% discount, which is linked below. http://www.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=...073&dcaid=17073 There is a limit of one set of a series per customer. Considering the fandom that there is for The Shield and 24 on this board, anyone who doesn't already own them BETTER buy them now, as $14 each is an INCREDIBLE deal for the level of entertainment you're getting. EDIT- To clarify, these are SEASON ONE ONLY. Other seasons of these series as well as other series are all at their regular prices, although the coupon is still active.

I picked up Krazy Racers as one of my first four or five Advance titles. It's okay but I HATED the License Tests you took after a certain number of races. It's worth keeping around if only because you can be a character from almost any Konami game, including the NINJA~! from the Metal Gear Solid series.

And then he blackmailed my QB into throwing 5 INT's......this is all true. Nah... they traded them to him for the QB's "loaner" Escalade.

Of the poll portion: Louisville had 1166 votes in one poll (.718 of all possible points) and 1021 in the other (.670). Georgia had 1093 points in one poll (.673) and 1092 in the other poll (.716), putting them comparable with Louisville in poll standings. Miami had 1030 points in one poll (.634) and 950 in the other (.623), for the worst poll average of the three. Of the computer portion: Louisville did by far the worst of any top 10 team. Their computer portion (.450) was equal to that of 8-2 LSU, who had trouble putting away Ole Miss on Saturday and whose biggest win is probably the one over 7-4 Florida. Georgia wasn't much better (.500), but it was enough to help boost them above Louisville in the overall totals. Miami had the best computer score of the three (.620) but the worst poll standing, which nudged them above Louisville but just behind Georgia (.004 difference in the averaged totals). If you have a problem, take them up with the computers. Do it fast, though, as teams from the Big East, where Louisville is headed, have the WORST computer rankings of any teams in the BCS poll. West Virginia's ranking is about .010 and Boston College's rating isn't much better.

My players took pictures of the Oklahoma players snorting an 8-ball off of a hooker's tits...

BTW, the best bowl matchup projected so far is Louisville vs. Boise State in the Liberty Bowl. That's provided that Utah goes to a BCS bowl and the Liberty Bowl is allowed to invite anyone to replace them as a result.
-
6 win teams shouldn't be going regardless. There are way too many bowls and NEITHER Clemson (who got thrashed by Texas A & M and lost to friggin' Duke) or S. Carolina deserved bowl shots, regardless. -=Mike The funny thing is that there are about 54 bowl game spots and only 51 eligible teams so far... and with Clemson and South Carolina pulling out, it's going to be hard to fill all of those spots. Teams on the verge of eligibility- Syracuse (5-5, plays Boston College next) Arkansas (5-5, plays LSU on Thursday) Nebraska (5-5, plays Colorado next) South Florida (4-5, plays Pittsburgh and Memphis) Tulane (4-5, plays TCU and Louisville) Southern Miss (5-4, plays UAB and California) TCU (5-5, plays Tulane) Hawaii (5-5, plays Northwestern and Michigan State) Of those teams, the ones with the best chance of becoming bowl eligible are Hawaii, TCU, and Nebraska. A 6-6 Hawaii would probably get an NCAA exemption to be bowl-eligible and play a home game at the Hawaii Bowl. Southern Miss has a decent chance, but they'd better beat UAB because that Cal game will be a bitch. Syracuse and Arkansas may pull it off if they're lucky. Tulane and South Florida are basically screwed. Tulane will NOT beat Louisville and South Florida can't beat both Memphis and Pittsburgh. If the chips fall just the right way, there will be bowl games without eligible teams, which will be pretty damn embarassing.

All of those games that I've played are pretty solid. I'd also throw on Advance Wars 2 in addition to the original Advance Wars and Metroid Zero (deluxe remake of Metroid, includes emulated copy of original Metroid as an extra) in addition to Metroid Fusion. In addition to the games listed, I'd also recommend any Tony Hawk game, Super Mario Advance 2 (Super Mario World), Arcade Advance (6 Konami arcade games including Frogger and Gyruss, runs about $10 or less), Activision Anthology (25+ old Atari 2600 games including Kaboom and Pitfall), and Onimusha Tactics (strategy game similar to Final Fantasy Tactics).

LSU vs. Ole Miss almost broke into brawls several times last night, although a few of those brawls would have been fans jumping the fence to kill the refs. That's a rivalry that used to be a lot more heated, but Ole Miss's decline as a power pretty much deflated that one.

These games are now decided due to Virginia and UAB winning and Navy being up 33 points in the 4th quarter over Rutgers- Boise State (*dead team* / Verne Gagne) over #10 Stanford (Bored) because Boise State holds the tiebreaker #4 UCLA (Phoenixrising) over USC (Cartman) because UCLA holds the tiebreaker
-
Decided contest games- #1 Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto) over West Virginia (Loaded Glove) (Forfeit) #8 LSU (teke184) over Oklahoma (Damaramu) Florida (AgentBond34) over Florida State(2Gold) (Florida holds tiebreaker) Contest-related games in progress- UAB over Army 20-14 in the final seconds of the 4th Quarter Navy over Rutgers 54-14 in the 4th Quarter Virginia over Georgia Tech 30-10 late in the 4th quarter Ohio State over Michigan 37-21 late in the 4th quarter Kansas over Missouri 28-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter

For tiebreaker #2, Statham only had 70 yards passing.

Dude, this is the company that employed Public Enemy, ICP and members of the Misfits among others. This is the company that would sign ECW talent (Sandman, Mikey Whipwreck) and sit them on the sidelines for months just so ECW wouldn't have them. It's a fact that they tried to bring in Sabu again in the late 90's. As stated, the reason ECW went from being profitable on a modest scale to a failure on a large scale is that Paul E. made some very bad business decisions. I think he saw the window closing on the boom, saw the constant talent raids depleting his roster, and he wanted to get in on the bonanza before it was over. It's clear that he takes a fair share of credit as the catlyst of the boom, as well he should, and he didn't want to be the odd man out in reaping the benefits. He should have just gone much slower, made the gradual national expansion as previously stated. PPV wasn't a grave mistake IMO but could have been handled better, maybe they should have waited another couple years, the video games, magazines and toys were bad moves, going to TNN was a very bad move, they just tried to do to much too soon in a market that was already flooded with product and on it's way down. WCW employed Sabu at the end of 1995, when he was between ECW runs, then told him to get out. Apparently, everything The Sheik taught him about doing business made people think he was an asshole. When Tod Gordon tried to get Terry Taylor to sign a big group of ECW guys onto WCW in 1997, Taylor started trying to get names of who wanted in and was VERY unhappy when Sabu's name was mentioned. He still had a lot of heat from his last run in the company.

As of the third quarter, VT is up 55-3 on Maryland. Considering that the highest tiebreaker total I see is 60, that pretty much means that the high picker in each matchup gets the tiebreaker.

You have to be in the top 12 to get picked. HOWEVER... you're only automatic if you're in the top 6 and there are currently only two BCS at-large bigs. If Utah ends up in the top 6, that 2nd bid is almost assuredly going to a team from one of the 6 BCS conferences. Best teams for an at-large from each conference- Pac 10- California (They have an inside track, along with Texas, for the remaining bid.) Big 12- Texas (They have a good shot but circumstances usually work against them. Last year, it was K-State's unexpected B-12 title win. This year, it could be a loss to Texas A&M) Big East- None (There is no team in here that deserves an at-large bid. The closest contender, West Virginia, had a schedule that was rather soft.) SEC- LSU or Georgia (Both are 9-2, but LSU has the inside track despite losing to Georgia. LSU's losses were early in the season while Georgia had a humiliating defeat by Auburn broadcast on national TV last week.) Big 10- Wisconsin (This is a VERY slim possibility after their embarassing loss to Michigan State. Iowa should shut the door on them this week.) ACC- None (Miami's going to get the automatic bid and the rest of the pack has beaten each other up too much to get an at-large bid.) Oh, BTW... If Utah gets a BCS bid, the Liberty Bowl can plug anyone into Utah's spot. Most people think that Boise State would get that bid and Boise State vs. Louisville would be a GREAT matchup.

Technically he didn't screw the UN out of all of that money... Who do you think he paid half of it to?
