Well...I'm not going to debate this since my points are meant to encompass a wide range of people (all of whom are important to baseball's well being) And your points are all just about you.

Weekend boxoffice report Aug 8-10

Marvin and I seem to be in 100% agreement that a 10 mil opening is accurate. -
Q: If I redeem a prize through the Frequent Buyers Club, do I start over? A: Nope, you get credit for every order and never have to start over. If you order 52 episodes, you will have received every prize listed! Now I'll have to send in for me poster! ....when my next bill arrives that is.

1. People want to see it. Therefore covering it is logical. 2. When's the last time you saw someone hit 650 home runs? I don't recall that being a common occurance and as Baseball is a game that lives in it's statistics...someone putting up these kinds of numbers should be covered like this as it's great publicity for the sport. 3. Major League Baseball will NEVER EVER be sold on "look how good that game was" and outside of the Yankees it will never be sold on "Look how much that team wins". It is, has been, and will always be sold on it's stars. Look at that Dontrelle Willis, or Albert Pujols or Ichiro or the best of them all...Barry Bonds. Baseball fans are going to watch a baseball game either way. In order to bring in the fringe people you need to play up your stars and their achievements. It's all very logical.

Microsoft Seeks High Heat August 12, 2003 - You might recall a story we ran about the inevitable sale of various 3DO assets following the company's untimely, but not unexpected demise. Well, more developments have arisen in the last few days that shed further light on who is moving to purchase what. With potentially lucrative properties like SRS, Army Men, Might & Magic, and High Heat Baseball up for grabs, we're starting to see the big publishers come out of the woodwork for a piece of the 3DO pie. Full details, infected by lawyers, can be found here. But, we'll break it down for you nice and easy. Perhaps most surprising is Microsoft's move to purchase High Heat, given the existence of its own baseball franchise, Inside Pitch. But then since many describe that title as a complete waste of a box, the bid by the mega giant could be one to establish its own non-crappy brand of Major League ball. Of course, this may cause some to wonder where this leaves the supposed Sega/Microsoft deal. Why would the big MS attempt to purchase a different brand of ball if it were also still pursuing the rumored buyout of Sega, which has its own supremely ass kicking World Series 2k3? Well, there are a few speculative answers to that... 1) Microsoft makes so much money it doesn't even care. Comparatively speaking, the bids listed for High Heat do not equal an obscene amount of money, which Microsoft has. The creator of the Xbox may just figure, "Why the hell not?" 2) The Sega deal is no more. But, since it was only heavily rumored to begin with, there's not a whole lot available to prove or dismiss this theory. 3) Let's bid for the sake of bidding. Regardless of whether Microsoft is or is not pursuing Sega, the company could simply just not want another publisher to attain a strong brand that would eventually turn into competition for World Series or Inside Pitch. Thus, it was decided that the ante should be raised. Either MS gets the brand and is happy, or Bill's baby causes someone else to spend so much money they'll be hard-pressed to find the funding necessary to develop the license into a quality game for a timely release. Regardless of the reasoning behind the High Heat bid, it's still interesting. Of course, if you care little for Microsoft and its dealings, there is plenty else to get excited about within the endless string of headache inducing legal jargon that is the sale of 3DO assets. The table below will sum up who's making a bid for what. http://xbox.ign.com/articles/433/433384p1.html I'm not sure what I think. 1. I love High Heat and buy it every year. 2. If this is the only way that High Heat will keep being made...that's great. 3. If it's designed specifically for XBox...it should be pretty for a change. 4. Live play, BABY!!! But...if they don't keep the developers of the game on payroll to make the next versions...it won't really be High Heat.

Kid Kash's segment has now become Kid Kash vs. Bobby Eaton. I used to like Bobby Eaton. -
I have about 3 different angles that I want to attack this first post from...all of them employing a simple thing called logic...but they are all jumbled together right now.

Jarrett did far more than win clean... He won with interference...AGAINST HIM. He beat Raven and Styles when multiple people ran in to attack HIM. Then pinned them clean. -
I like that I can (instead of setting 5 minute quarters or whatever) now choose to just speed up the clock so no matter how fast I play it runs the clock down to 20 seconds left to snap the ball. Much cooler.

There is no way to tell when a show is going to be good or not. It's freaking odd, is what it is. They can line up the best card ever and it doesn't work out...and they can line up crap and somehow it's better. I think this week looks good...but that mainly because AMW and Diamond and Swinger have been on fire (and the other 2 people in the match won't work hardly at all) and the Raven/Douglas feud has been real well booked IMO...even though this match can't be good. -

I picked Freddy vs. Jason cause I'm seeing that first... but I might actually go see 2 movies this weekend with Open Range being the other. -

He hasn't. They even ran interference for his Kazarian title defense... strangely I understand that one more than the others since Kazarian was contending for the X title. -

I'll tell ya. If ANYONE can see ANY reason that Styles shouldn't win clean here...I'd LOVE to know the reasoning. I'm still dying to know the motivation behind the non-clean finish last week. I don't know who that was meant to benefit. D-Lo? He was already kept strong in the 2/3 falls finish. -

Edgeucation of Adam Copeland -- Aug. 12, 2003
The Ghost of bps21 replied to CanadianChick's topic in The WWE Folder
Are they going to start having Edge use his real name when he comes back? I assume he'll get a push towards the top...and I don't want to see the day that a guy named Kurt Angle or Brock Lesnar loses the title to a guy named "Edge". It's so 80's like Taker -

The LAst Jason movie only made 12 something million and the last Freddy movie (which was years ago) only made like 14 something...and I that's TOTAL I think. There really isn't that huge an audience to draw from. It'll open at 10 million. What that beats, I don't know. -
Exactly why is Shane wrestling @ Summerslam again?
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Dangerous A's topic in The WWE Folder
Because he wouldn't let him fight Kane. That's the best they could do. -

This storyline sounds familiar. I live in the UK and havent been able to see any NWA:TNA so can somebody tell me who started this storyline first. They held a legends ceremony to announce the new commicioner (Erik Watts) and Kid Kash came out and ripped on HArley Race and Ricky Morton (Who I think trained him). The next week they had a pretty good Morton/Kash match and the next week the did a Zbysko/Kash match that wasn't so good. The only person this is really getting over is Abyss (Kash's monster...um...partner I guess) since he's coming in and laying these guys out with one move so KAsh can win. -
No...it's just lazy. They completely abandoned the whole "it was RVD's idea you lose the mask thing" and somehow the monster Kane is more overused than the guy he's supposed to squash.
-
The one that really matters is the RVD thing. I know they don't like his mic skills...but not giving him any time to talk his side of the main storyline on RAW is ridiculous. It doesn't have to be anything huge...they could even pre-tape it.

I didn't see any problem with either the Mad Mikey match or the Lynn match (especially fall 2...you know...after the odd 30 second fall). As for Red...the dude is hurt beyond belief right now.
