    SWF Rankings

It goes from Ashes 2 Ashes. So in there is a World Title win AND The Clusterfuck win. Which brings me to a question. Do you guys still want me to roll the points over from previous rankings, or start fresh after every PPV? And I didn't really fix these rankings up (top 5 analysis, previous spots, etc) cause well...I didn't feel like it. I might fix them up at some point though.

    PROMO: ‘Happy Birthday’

“I’ll never understand this country.” Toxxic flicks irritably through the channels on his widescreen wall-mounted plasma TV, seemingly unable to find anything he likes. Finally the Straight-Edge Sensation grunts in disgust and flings the remote control sideways, almost hitting a slightly perturbed Marcus Washington. “150 gazillion bloody channels and there’s still nothing worth watching on,” the Brit continues, slumping back into his chair, “…although on the upside, I am finally free of ‘Countdown’.” “Say what?” Marcus asks, retrieving the controller and setting it back on the table, but Toxxic just waves the question away. “You seriously don’t want to know. Let’s just say the main fanbase is middle-aged ladies who send the presenter multi-coloured ties to wear.” “Ah, right,” Marcus acknowledges, “one of those ones.” “And what’s wrong with multi-coloured ties?” Jet asks from the other side of the room where she is, as one would expect from her comment, wearing just such a tie as part of an overall ensemble that makes her look like Avril Lavigne’s psychotic sister. “It depends who’s wearing it,” Toxxic protests. “…or how you use it?” Jet grins back. “Can you two give it a break?” Spike asks grumpily, changing the channel back to bastketball. “Either that or get a frickin’ room.” “I’ve got a frickin’ room,” Toxxic tells the Cruiserweight Champion, “I’ve got an entire frickin’ house full of frickin’ rooms!” Revolution Zero are indeed in Toxxic’s house in Sacremento, and today is the Straight-Edge Sensation’s 22nd birthday. Various balloons are scattered around, and there are still the remnants of some birthday cake that Jet is eyeing hungrily. However, the mood in the room is not as full of celebration and cheer as might be expected, and there are a couple of very good reasons why. “So…” Sean Davis says, breaking the brief silence, “has anyone seen Sacred?” “No.” Toxxic replies, staring straight ahead. “Nope.” Spike says, watching the basketball. “Uh-uh,” Marcus shakes his head. “Has anyone heard from Sacred?” Jet asks, scooping another slice of cake off the table and retreating back to her corner. The same negative responses greet the dreadlocked beauty’s question. “So; the guy goes out, wins the World Title and then… what?” Toxxic asks. “Drops off the planet? Buggers off back to Oz?” The straight-edger hisses in frustration and looks around for the remote control to chuck again, but Spike is closely guarding it as the Lakers make a determined attack. “Toxx, we gotta just accept it,” Sean Davis says, “he ain’t coming back to Revolution Zero. He’d have talked to us by now. He’s gone off on his own.” “Yeah,” Toxxic sighs. “You guys were right; we couldn’t trust him.” Spike takes his eyes off the screen for a second and shoots a significant glance at Davis, but the big man either doesn’t see it or doesn’t respond. “I think the question is; can we afford to let him go?” Toxxic continues, and that does distract the Cruiserweight Champion. “What the hell do you mean by that?” Jenkins asks, rounding on his leader. “The guy wins the World Title and then disappears, and you’re not sure whether he can still be a part of this team? Dude, he doesn’t know anything about teamwork!” “I’m not sure if that matters anymore,” Toxxic tells Spike, keeping his voice level. “He’s got the World Title, and we need that.” “Why?” Spike demands, now starting to get really worked up. “Why the hell do we need that belt if that asshole comes with it? What if Mak beats him at Clusterfuck, are you gonna offer Mak free membership?” “At the moment it’s pretty bloody tempting, yeah!” Toxxic snarls back. “Spike, forget about all the crap Sacred’s pulled and think about this for a second! Do you know exactly how hated we are? Revolution Zero are loathed backstage, because for a couple of months we dominated the damn company! Now I don’t know about you, but that’s not what I set out to do,” the Brit continues, calming down a bit. “You came to me for some guidance - just like Sacred did later on - and I agreed. Then we got Sean in because he showed promise, and so people would think twice about messing with us. At no point did I intend us to become the prime target for any arsehole looking to be a hit with the fans! But now we’ve got everyone lining up for a shot at us - not just me like Maddix was saying on Smarkdown, but us - and we need to be seen to be strong. We used to have the Tag Titles, the USJL Title, the World Title, the Cruiser Title - now all we’ve got is the Cruiser Title because people have been chipping away at us. If we lose the World Title now the rest of the locker room might see us as vulnerable. They might decide they can take us out, and then we will really be in trouble.” “Let ‘em bring it!” Spike snaps. “Sooner or later Maddix’s ego is going to bring Martial Law down, and then we’re fine. Not that we’re not fine now,” the Californian remarks, “especially with my 100-day title reign.” “Which is good,” Toxxic admits, “but I’m not sure about Landon’s ego. I mean it’s there, but still… he beat me. He beat Sean. I think Cortez and Clark can rally behind a guy like that even if they dislike him… and so could the rest of the lockeroom.” “Huh,” Spike snorts, “so I suppose it doesn’t matter than I’m the only guy in the room who’s ever beaten him?” There is a brief silence, only broken by the sound of Jet taking the plate with the rest of the birthday cake. “Spike,” Toxxic says, trying to stay calm, “I don’t think a choke-out win, what? Six? Eight months ago? I don’t think that’s really relevant now-” “-especially since he beat you in the Cold Front Classic,” Davis cuts in. Spike rounds on the Perfect Storm, evidently unhappy that his former tag partner isn’t taking his side. “Oh yeah? Well what about you, big guy?” Jenkins demands. “You could have gone for his World Title but no, you laid off so Toxxic could have a go. Instead Sacred got a shot, and that put us in this mess in the first place!” “Hey, back then we thought Sacred was one of us!” Davis rumbles. “Just because we misjudged him-” “We?” Spike asks, incredulous, “what’s with the we, dude? I knew him for what he was the moment he walked into our dressing room, and you should have known as well after that tag match! It was Toxx who trusted him, and Toxx that brought him into Revolution Zero! And now he’s stabbed us in the back, and it’s Toxx who wants to keep him around!” “Spike, I know that you’ve been in this company a lot longer than either me or Sean,” Toxxic says, voice barely remaining level, “and I know that you have background, first-hand knowledge on people like Sacred or Mak Francis that me and Sean don’t have.” The tone of the Brit’s voice abruptly changes as he continues, “but if you don’t shut up right now sunshine, I’m gonna slap you so hard that you won’t have to go back to Hollywood to see bloody stars!” Spike gets out of his chair at this, evidently ready to fight. Toxxic does the same, and for a moment the two stand nose-to-nose. There is absolute quiet in the Sacremento living room before Sean Davis also stands and, blotting out the light, reaches out to separate the two furious Cruiserweights. “This is gettin’ us nowhere,” he tells them. “Spike? Toxx? C’mon Spike, Toxx has that title shot he won off Johnny Dangerous, and there’s no reason why you and me can’t work as a team in the ‘Fuck to make sure one of us gets that title shot too. We can get the belt back to one of us. If Martial Law try anything in the ring we can take them, and if they try anything outside it,” the big man grins briefly, remembering the powerbomb on Christian Fury, “we just send ‘em on a ride on the car park express.” ‘Hollywood’ Spike Jenkins and the Straight-Edge Sensation glare at each other for a few more seconds… then each one steps back and, still not taking their eyes off each other, sits down. “I’ve started watching those exercise programs,” Marcus Washington admits to Jet as the Lakers get a basket, “and I even do the stretches along with them. It’s an addiction.” “But a healthy one,” Jet notes, wiping her mouth and shoving the nearly-empty plate at the lawyer. “Cake?”
