Some notes from your new Forum Mod

Although I am a fan of the OaO threads, I do understand that sometimes they can be a little overwhelming. Maybe instead of weekly threads, monthly ones would work out better. That way discussions could go longer.

    WWE suing Marvel Comics

The Incredible Hulk debuted over 40 years ago. Hulk Hogan debuted in 1980?

    WWE suing Marvel Comics

Fear of these lawsuits was one of the big reasons why WCW was very happy to call him Hollywood Hogan.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

They will definitely be in, somewhere between the 6-8 seed. They barely missed the playoffs this last season with Harpring being out with injury and no legitimate PF. This year Harp's healthy, they picked up Boozer and Okur to drasitcally improve their frontcourt, and their rookies Humphries and Snyder show a lot of potential. They'll definitely be in.

    The Dark Knight Strikes Again

I did notice that commentary on the way news channels present themsevles.
  7. from Newsarama.com SINGER TO DIRECT WARNER BROS. SUPERMAN Trading allegiances for at least one film, Variety reports that on Friday, X-Men director Bryan Singer signed with Warner Brothers to both develop and direct the Superman film. According to the report, Singer will work with Michael Dogherty and Dan Harris to develop the film, which is slated to begin production in late 2004 in Australia. The deal with Warner Brothers makes it look unlikely that Singer will return to direct X-Men 3. The other project that Singer was reportedly set to develop and direct, a remake of Logan’s Run may still be on the table, though the trade reported the film may fall now to Constantine director Francis Lawrence. The studio has also shelved JJ Abrams’ version of the script. Prior to Singer, Charlie’s Angels director McG was attached to the film, though he left the picture after a disagreement with the studio over location and budget. Variety also reports that Singer will bring a new take to the franchise for the film, most likely scrapping the original treatment’s focus on Superman’s battle with Luthor, and a mysterious visitor from Krypton who has come to earth to hunt Superman. Singer told Variety: "My interest in Superman dates back many, many years," Singer said. "In fact, it was the Richard Donner classic film that was my day-to-day inspiration in shaping the X-Men universe for the screen. I feel that Superman has been late in his return and it is time for him to fly again." ---------- Should be really good, but I guess that means the X-Men franchise is over.

From a marketing standpoint, changing "diet" to "no-carb" would be a great idea. I think your on to something.

Bands that could have been bigger than they were

Because Black Flag came first. I think also the fact that Henry Rollins became so big and overshadowed collectively everything the other Black Flag alumni did. I think that is because after the nature of Samhain was that it was a transitional band for Danzig. Samhain kinda evolved and just turned into Danzig. It was his band and he was writing the majority of the music, and when the lineup changed he just took over. The reason why Misfits is considered > Samhain is because a lot of Misfits fans don't really like Danzig as a solo artist and they just discount Samhain.

Marvel Sues Disney Over Comic Royalties

The reason they gave at Wizard World East for Spidey getting involved was that he is and has been on the Avengers reserve list for a long time. They also want to make Avengers more like Justice League in the sense that they are THE premier super hero team. Not that I necessarily agree with Spidey being on full time, but he is their flagship character. Secondly, a lot of Disassembled will involve chaos and destruction in New York City, so for continuity sake it would make sense that Spidey would pop his head in. As for the Mary Jane book, from what I've read it's pretty much a retelling of Spider-Man from Mary Jane's stand point in a way that'll get the attention øf younger teenage girls who like reading crappy high school drama/romance books.

    Trivia tidbits

As long as he says that its been a lifelong dream of his to work with HHH when he is asked about those comments, I'd say he'd be fine. I think the comments won't be an issue. It seems like they are trying to make it look like the brands are in competition with each other.

Nice haul. With a lot of the discounts on GN's from amazon, it doesn't pay to buy the original issues.

    Is it just me?

The worst part of Impact is that they don't keep their lineup fresh. There are only so many times I can see a member of Team Canada in a match. They get ridiculous exposure on Impact. That and no character development.

The Lakers will be very weak on defense. Rudy T has a hell of a task ahead of him.

    Best rogues' galleries

Thor is another character with a really poor rogues gallery when compared to his powers. He has legitimate god enemies in Loki and the Enchantress, even in Ulik, but after them he gets stuck fighting off B-level Fantastic Four and Avengers villains.

    Ghost Rider movie

Not sure. They are pretty much just taking forever to get started on it. Other than Cage (and I think a movie studio, I'd like to say Fox), no one's attatched to it...no director, no producer, not even a script.

I know what you mean, but most of Kobe's assists were off of double teams. It's not like he really helps others get shots.
