If you watch WCW Greed You'll see a cameo from...
Steviekick replied to a topic in General Wrestling
I still find it completely ironic that Time Warner decided to pull the plug on WCW just as they got back on track. -
Shane Douglas' use of Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers" was awesome. Very cool, heavy sounding riff and long opening instrumental.

But isn't the name "WWF" in dispute in England, where the Wildlife Fund is located/headquartered? I remember one of the huge headaches when they favored against Vince and co. was that they had to remove all product from England with the WWF logo øn it.

What was that?

"The Draco" made me drop Uncanny.

I don't think that there was an exact moment and date of when it actually happened but more of a gradual process. I know a lot of it was thanks to WWE's marketing and merchandising during the Hulkamania/Wrestlemania expansion period where they stsrted shifting into the whole "sports entertainment" label. Part of it was that by saying that it was fully fixed was so that they wouldn't have to pay taxes/fees to state athletic commissions.

Here are my two picks that haven't already been mentioned: • The Blue Light Special: The Blue Meanie picks up the opponent from the ocean cyclone suplex, lifts them up, and Nova would catch the opponent in the facebuster position while Meane dropped them. • I don't remember the name, but Mikey Whipwreck would pick up the opponent from ocean cyclone suplex position and Tajiri would hook on a Pedigree-like maneuver and they would drop the opponent at the same time. Kinda like a super pedigree.

I propably wouldn't pay to be a part of any board. But if TSM was to wind up closing, I do see there being smaller free boards popping up with members of TSM calling it their own, kinda like UGS.

I do see if they go with the NWA moniker that WWE will stop releasing any of the old NWA footage for commercial purposes just to not give them any credibility.

Sounds neat. Busiek can do some really good stuff.

You saw the Haunted with their returning original vocalist Peter Dolving. I've seen them twice with their other, Marco Aro, and they rocked my socks off. As far as album vocals go, Peter is much better because he screams and sounds more like a psycho, where Marco kind of has the usual hardcore/thrash style vocals.

1. Although the HHH-centered Raw of 03-04 ratings stayed pretty much the same, I wouldn't necessarily say that you could build a show around. Regardless who he feuded with (HBK, RVD, Kane, Steiner, Booker T), there was no signifigant ratings increase. The only constant was HHH. Basically, there ratings/attendance really did not increase in over a year of HHH at the forefront, so I would say that you could center the promotion around HHH, but unsuccesfully because he can't draw an additional audience. 2. HHH would be just as bad, regardless if he was an active wrestler or not. First, he seems to be very biased as to who he works with now and to what extent he will/won't put them over. I could really see him playing favorites in the front office as to who would main event, hold titles, and such. Secondly, we all know his opinion of cruiserweights and anyone with an unusual wrestling style. With him dictating how everyone would work, every show would look like WM XV from a stylistic point. And that would suck.

Definitely. After Bischoff debuted, the crowd was dead for the rest of the night.

I once saw SF live, and their singer Brian's hair was crazy. It kept hitting the ceiling above the stage.

"Unas" is my favorite Nile song. Amazing. My second favorite is not as epic, but still fun..."Black Seeds of Vengeance".

Thanks for the clarification and sorry for jumping on you, Ripper. Too little sleep will do that to you.

If I recall the right match, that was pretty good, and Dreamer even did a nice blade job (or maybe it was Richards, it's been a while). Damn, this was two years ago too. Time really does go by quick. That was the one the night Bischoff debuted, right? I was there live, and the crowd was REALLY into it. Although Tommy was never an amazing worker, he was propably one of the most dedicated, loyal, and genuinely happy to be wrestling people out there. This is really dissapointing. Between him and Lance retiring, this makes me quite sad.

I hate it when they stick nonwrestler matches on a PPV. But sticking 2 is just ridiculous.

ride the bench in San Antonio? SA tried to get Karl during the off-season, but apparently he has some huge beef with Timmy. That Tim is twice the PF he ever was and he doesn't have arguably the best point guard ever getting him the ball every play? I would say that at the end of both their careers, Duncan and Malone would be equal. They both have completely different playing styles. I wouldn't put Parker over Stockton or Isaiah.

New RoboCop Comic Book Based On Frank Miller's
Steviekick replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Literature
Isn't this kind of old? Anyway, I've heard about this book but have never actually scene it. Should be interesting. -
Nicieza is a pretty good writer, but he's going to have to plot his ass off to overcome Liefeld.

I love KsE immensely, but I'm kind of worried about the new album. I'm yet to hear anything from it personally, but from what I've heard I think I may wind up being dissappointed. As for God Forbid, I HIGLHLY reccommend them. They are great live. Their part of the Northeast US Metal scene. They have a melodic thrash/hardcore sound. They balance lots of heavy breakdowns and melodic parts. No real solos, and their instrumentals kind of wind all over the place, but in a good way. The new album has more melodicness and clean vocals than before.

Raven is the f'n man with the Evenflow DDT. Randy Orton also used one from the top rope on RVD a few months back.

Best collection site for wrestling DVDs & tapes?
Steviekick replied to AnonymousBroccoli's topic in General Wrestling
There really isn't. Guzzlefish is the best collection site. You can enter any of the commercial tapes that aren't on there, you know.
