I have a confession to make to you all.

I'm all about the Duran Duran as well. There is nothing wrong with that. -
Personally, I hated the direction that Morrison was taking.

I was contemplating picking up the new Fear Factory when it was dirt cheap at Best Buy, but I passed for not knowing what to expect and knowing that it wouldn't get played that much. The reason why BLS didn't fair as well as the others is that they just aren't getting the same record label promotion/support for the redebut of DP with their new singer and FF's return album. Retailers would rather promote those two types of event records as opposed to a concept album. Also, take into account that Soundscan does not reflect independent and smaller record store sales. I definitely think that would add to BLS'* total.

The Spectre is yet to be weakened, so I have no idea.

It shows that they are looking forward, but the original store page they had looked better. Did anyone check out the new wallpaper section on the main page?
-
That's what I did. I picked out the lowest priced one.

I remember that and it was a thing of beauty. But at the same time, it was really goofy of Jericho to be doing that when he was trying to get over as a legitimate threat in WWF.

Go with Uncanny X-Men. Here's a link about Reload: http://www.marvel.com/news/index.htm?page=all&article_id=176

I just picked up the Hurricane/Rosie 2 pack. Hurricane has the Brock upper bod
-
That's exactly what they are doing. It's a good way to hype the show, and at least it shows they are thinking ahead.
-
Oh hell yeah! Zsasz and I are agreeing The Comics folder will never be the same.

You say Bookend like it's THAT much better. Both are weak as fuck. The heatseeker was pretty cool though. I wouldn't mind seeing him go back to that, but not as a heel. You mean the 110th Street Slam? I thought that was a spinebuster delivered more like Hardcore Holly's Alabamaslama.

Some of the stuff from the mid 90s by Waid/Wienrigo was really good, too. There are a lot of Flash TPBs available. I'm not much of a Flash fan but from what I've personally seen and have heard from others, you really can't do bad with either the Waid or Johns stuff.

I'm yet to buy them, although I always think about it when I see it. The internet has really spoiled my interest in magazines. Whenever I want to read an article, interview, or even look something up, I just head to the computer.

I LOVED ONeil/Adams Arrow/Lantern stuff from the seventies. Quiver was really good, too. I really liked how they portrayed Hal as Spectre, and I still think that there is much more they could explore in that way.

I went with the el cheapo clas ring, and I'm glad. I think I only wound up wearing it maybe twice. I skipped getting one from college.

What's your preoccupation with hero's beating each other? For your information, during his Ion phase, Kyle started to bring the whoopin' on Superman. He also tussled with Green Arrow without powers. For the most part, it's not Kyle's nature to fight with people. Fighting Parralax doesn't even count, as no one is on the same level as him power wise. Alan Scott really can't be killed. His powers have made him fairly immortal, although they have been limited in reason years. Back to the Hal/Kyle question, they've done as good a job as they can as far as seperating the two, and DC did a fairly good job establishing him as THE Green Lantern as far as placement and importance in their scheme of things. The only thing is that GL has never had a really good creative team on it. And that goes for both Kyle and Hal.
-
Definitely. But he's still not at AK47 level.
-
Yeah, he went from a guy with a GL ring to being almost as good as Hal. Then he absorbed all the GLs and became Ion and almost went Hal Jordan on us. Now he's normal again. I took a leave from actively reading comic books around 1996, and started reading again in late 2001/early 2002 during Kyle's Ion phase. Basically what happened was that once he relived himself of the Ion powers, he reignited the GL Power Battery which in turn wound up returning the guardians (the little blue guys who run the GL corps). The only difference is that they are all extremely young and stil children. Kyle decided that too much of the galaxy had been abandoned once the Corps was destroyed, so he went into space to help where ever he was needed. He reappointed John Stewart as Earth's GL. Personally, his life has gotten more interesting. The series dealt with Kyle's gay friend being the victim of a hate crime, and Kyle even winding up getting engaged to Jade (the green woman with the power of a GL ring and the daughter of the original GL, Alan Scott). Me being broke has forced me to stop reading stuff cold turkey, and last I read it seemed like Jade was in the process of trying to back out of the engagement or cheating on Kyle.

Maybe this means that Inoki is going to wind up announcing that commercial NJPW DVDs will be available in the US?
-
They haven't said. But DC is doing another *big event* mini series this summer and they have said that one character will wind up getting killed, so maybe that.
-
Hal is the definitive Green Lantern, but I feel kind of doubtful about how they'll handle his return. I know that sales is definitely part of this; lets face it, GL is never a well selling or buzz book. I can see it being big the first story arc of the new GL series and all of the obligatory guest appearances in the other major titles, but then GL fading back to his B level status. Personally, I liked what happened when they put Kyle in the role of GL. It was great watching him grow into the role as one of the top level super heroes in DC. On the other hand, watching Hal's spiral into madness and his redemption as Parrallax and Spectre was really well done. The last Spectre series wasn't that bad when they weren't trying to do Sandman type stories.

Good choice with Webb. He was awesome to watch.
-
Wally is still at the "pretty good" level.

This is just a way for Inoki to get the attention of the American IWC fan. They are much more likely to get interested in NJPW than the average American fan who can barely sit through Raw every week.
