WWE General Discussion - September 2007

They were at Hermie Sadler's UWF, which much like Booker's fed, does alot of interpromotional things with TNA and WWE. It was a 5 on 5 War Games STYLE match Team Sgt Slaughter (Dustin Rhodes, The Steiners and Team Mackiton) vs. Team JBL (LAX, Steve Corino, Elix Skipper, CW Anderson). Team Slaughter won the match. Doesn't Corino have some real life beefing with Homicide over his hearing loss?

    TSM NBA H2H: Year 5

If you need an extra team, count me in.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I'm a big fan of Stax. The label's death was more due to really awful distribution deals, not having control of their masters and poor business decisions. If you ever get the chance, definitely check out the Stax museum.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

Millsap played mostly as a back up to Kirilenko and Boozer last season. They could use a defense minded PF/C. I'm not sure what's up with the guard positions because they signed to scrub PG's and the SG situation is still a mess.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

I really wished that Sloan would have made his exit from the Jazz when Stockton and Malone did. As much as I like Kirilenko, I don't think that it will effect the Jazz too much. Millsap is going to be good and it clears up a lot of salary. But still, I'd rather him stay...

So Fire Pro R is back

    The cover kind of sucks.

The OaO Raw Thread - 9/17/2007

I did find it kind of surreal that during the sympaty shots of Cena looking over his father you heard a very loud "you can't wrestler" chant.

Please let it be Ox Baker.

    Dale Oliver

Abyss' theme is pretty cool. I know that Oliver has nothing to do with it, but LAX's theme is propably the best in TNA.

    Best Female Promos?

Luna Vachon was great at psycho/crackhead promos.

    Marvel Comics thread

I've heard mixed reviews about Avengers/Transformers, but figured it would be a fun enough read. I'm waiting to pick it up as a TPB.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

I'm really happy that Kirilenko won the MVP at the Euros. I hope this is a sign that he'll have a better season.

    The Ultimate Comic Villain

I think we included Black Adam in the hero tourney.

Darkseid (anyone who would devote his life to learning how to use something called the anti-life equation is pretty fucked) Kingpin Loki Lex Luthor

    Marvel Comics thread

Did any of you get the sketch cover versions of Fallen Son? I picked up two and got headshots from Michael Avon Oeming and Dexter Vines.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

A nomination for some national parenting award (and a subsequent tabloid article) forced Malone to acknowledge Cheryl and her brother. That was before she started playing at Louisiana Tech. Yeah he was an asshole about it, but at least he's trying to make amends by publicly supporting Cheryl and going into business with his son Daryl.

    OAO 9/13 Impact Thread

The Judas Mesias segment was pretty cool, but his ring gear doesn't go with his character one bit.

So Fire Pro R is back

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have an online mode.

WWE General Discussion - September 2007

What's this about? There was quite a bit of talk of WWE expanding their empire overseas vastly. I'm sure there is a thread or two referring to it. I knew about the territories, I was just wondering about the wrongful death lawsuit.

    Sandman Released :(

YES PLEASE! Anything with Hydra is golden - I'm still holding out for Sharkboy v Hydra. Sandman v Hydra, what would that be - Hydra flexing his huge muscles infront of Sandman. Sandman looks at him like 'Who's this fool' then canes him? Hydra would no sell the cane shot and take the cane, only to be unable to break it. Lots of comedy spots and whacky hijinx would ensue.

"I Can't Believe That Got Over!!!"

I think he got over because he was an Elvis impersonator... that's instant heel heat right there. Some others - Rikishi (I know Too Cool has been mentioned, but there was a time where Rikishi had white hot heat) Al Snow in ECW - I know ECW is a bit different, but the whole "Head" angle was super hot. The New Age Outlaws - I know Road Dog had the charisma, but you have to think that the level of popularity the team had wasn't planned. Snow worked in ECW because the angle was tailor-made for a smart audience. I never got why Kaientai got over during their EVIL~! INDEED~! era. They were very dull in the ring, and their voiceovers were lame. La Parka's voiceover was much cooler.

WWE General Discussion - September 2007

WWF Mania was the old Saturday morning clip show they had on USA. It was hosted by Todd Pettengill (sp?) and Sunny.
