    NBA Playoffs 2007: Conference Finals

I'd put Duncan ahead of Malone/Barkley due to his stronger defense. As for Malone/Barkley, I'd say that the two had enough differences in their abillities that they would be rated equally.

    NBA Playoffs 2007: Conference Semifinals

At times I think that the NBA doesn't care that they're the number three sport in America. You know Stern loves the fact that guys like Nash, Dirk, Yao, etc. being among the league's elite only helps them go global. It's just like movies. They know that they can always make money when they take it international.

Suggest some Graphic novels and Trade Paperbacks

Runaways is a great read. It's definitely worth buying the super cool hardcover editions.

    Run-A-Fed

As far as age, I'm using the old Marvel/DC approach, where the oldest event happened 10 years ago. I do think it's funny that everyone is using Morton/Marty as washed up veterans.

ELITE COMBAT PROJECT An opening montage of the the ECP roster with a narrator saying that tonight a new era in pro wrestling begins and tha the revolution will be televised. We go live to Joey Styles and JBL at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Joey welcomes the audience and the two hype ECP roster and how the organization is built on competition and legitimacy. Starting tonight the ECP titles will be awarded via a tournament. Matches are decided via a lethal lottery, with the match's participants being picked at random. The winner gets the World Title, with the runner up getting the TV title. All the while, JBL makes fun of Styles. MATCH: OWEN HART VS. KEN SHAMROCK Shamrock is already in the ring while Owen with his manager Paul Heyman. Heyman gets on the mic, talking about what an honor it is for Owen to wrestle in front of such great fans and be in ECP. Owen takes the mic and says unfortunately its against a third rate MMA guy. The match starts, going back and forth with lots of mat wrestling. Shamrock takes Owen down in a rear naked choke, but Owen manages to pin Shamrock. WINNER: OWEN HART SEGMENT: Stevie Richards, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are backstage. Alex and Sabin ae complaining that the three of them have been left off the debut show. Stevie told them to relax and that this stuff happens all the time. He said what they need is a plan. The three decide that the best way to get on TV is to hang out with someone popular. Stevie said that's a great idea...and that's the only reason why he gets screen time. Shelley also mentions that they are all big in Hong Kong. MATCH: DAVEY BOY SMITH VS. KURT ANGLE The match starts with a handshake. Styles talks about how great Angle is, with his great career and the fact that he's a great person in the community. JBL isn't impressed. Angle wins with Angle Slam. WINNER: KURT ANGLE SEGMENT: Bobby Heenan is backstage talking to a group of wrestlers. He said that ECP is the future of the business and that if they want to get ahead, they will need representation. Heenan goes over why they should go with him due to all his experience. They said if they don't go with him then they might as well go with Heyman, but chances are they won't get paid as much. He passes out business cards, says to check his Myspace and that he'll be waiting to here from them. Nicole Bass comes up to him and asks where the bathroom is. He says the men's room is that way. MATCH: LITTLE GUIDO VS. VADER Guido is in the ring first, awaiting his opponent. It's Vader and Guido looks like he's going to crap himself. Basic squash as Vader kills Guido. JBL says that Vader is his pick. SEGMENT: Dustin Rhodes and Lance Cade are outside of a really shoddy looking RV with a table set up like a garage sale. They're drinking and being loud, thanking Tajiri for his goodwork forging those Paul Roma autographs. Cade says that its such a good idea it's like printing their own money. Evan Karagias comes up and looks at the stuff on the table. Dustin tries selling him some gold face paint. Lance tries selling him some cowboy chaps. Dustin says that's really gay of him to even have those. Karagias gets mad, as he points out that they're trying to sell his laptop. Cade says that it's their's fair and square. Evan calls them trailer trash and walks away with his stuff. Dustin throws a beer bottle at him saying he's a thief. MATCH: MIKE AWESOME VS. BRIAN LEE Basic big man match. WINNER: MIKE AWESOME SEGMENT: Shelton Benjamin and his agent, Jon Coachman, are dressed up in suits, talking about how they defy stereotypes and its their goal to prove ignorant people wrong. They are on a crusade to end ignorance. The two walk away and the camera zooms in on New Jack getting out of a '64 Impala. Shelton comes from behind and kicks New Jack down. Coach gets in front of the camera, saying this is exactly what they're talking about. MATCH: FINLAY VS. TERRY GORDY Very stiff match, with the two beating the hell out of each other. Finlay tries to belly-to-belly Gordy, who blocks it and hits the powerbomb for the win. WINNER: TERRY GORDY SEGMENT: Interviewer Maria is backstage with Ricky Morton and Marty Jannetty, who've decided to enter ECP as a tag team. Ricky explains that the two ran into each other at a Def Lepard show and decided that they should go on a reunion tour. Maria says that they've never teamed together. Marty says she's stupid, and that they brought together the best part, since their partners ran off to find God or get their lazy eye fixed; now that they're together they will win the titles and be the cock of the walk. Ricky asks Maria if she likes cock, and she says that she's afraid of chickens. Maria says she has one serious question to Ricky..."are you my father?" Ricky says he gets that all the time and anything's possible...the eighties are a blur to him. Matry says they've partied so much they don't remember anything before 1997. MATCH: RODDY PIPER VS. RICK MARTEL The crowd is very into Roddy, which JBL says is ridiculous. Roddy keeps cheating, which gets cheers from the crowd. Roddy wins with a pin where he has his feet on the ropes. WINNER: RODDY PIPER SEGMENT: Rey Mysterio and Amazing Red are backstage talking. Red said it's a pleasure to meet Rey and what an influence he is. Eddie Guerrero walks over and starts laughing at Red, and Rey joins him. They chastize him saying that he will never be in their league, as they've beaten the best. Eddie mocks his ring wear. Dynamite Kid comes over, telling Red to not worry about them; it wasn't too long ago they were sucking up to every veteran in the back. He calls them both trash and says that they've never given anything back to the business. Rey calls Dynamite Kid a has been. Dynamite challenges them for a match in the Tag Tournament, with his partner being Red. MATCH: BOOKER T. VS. STAN HANSEN Hansen comes to the ring, and streamers are thrown from the crowd. Styles mentions that is done in Japan as a sign of respect for ring legends. Hansen gets on the mic and says that he's wrestled all over the world three times over, and Philly is still the worst place. He makes fun of the fans and announces that tonight he's giving his cowboy hat to one of the fans...who happens to be JBL. Slow brawling match, with Hansen hitting the lariat out of nowhere. WINNER: STAN HANSEN MATCH: KENSUKE SASAKI VS. RANDY SAVAGE Styles and JBL go over both men's achievements. Lots of back and forth, until Savage misses the Macho Elbow. Sasaki tries to set up a top rope powerbomb, gets blocked. Macho pushes him off and gets the Macho Elbow. WINNER: RANDY SAVAGE After the match, Savage is clutching his ribs and shakes Sasaki's hand, who doesn't let go. Sasaki pulls him in for a Northern Lights Bomb. Owen and Heyman come out and join him with the stomping on Savage. The refs come and break it up, with the three standing outside of the ring with their hands raised. Styles and JBL go over a rundown of the second round of the title tournament. Owen, Angle, Vader, Awesome, Piper, Hansen and Savage, if he's not injured, advance. JBL says the Lethal Lottery rules are in effect, so none of them know who their opponent will be. Styles mentions that the Tag Team Title tournament begins, with Guerrero/Mysterio, Red/Dynamite, the Rockandrollers Morton and Janetty and Sabin/Shelley/Stevie. JBL says those three are morons but he's sure their up to something. Styles says thank you and good night.

    Sounds of the Underground

Gwar/Amon Amarth/Darkest Hour is enough reason to go to SOTU. Shadows Fall just puts it over the top. I think the Nile/Chtonic show your talking about is an offdate for them, since they are both on Ozzfest.

Let go of your old prejudices.

I believe thats true. They are touring together I believe this year. That's insane, but should make for a unique show.

    Reno 911! Miami

I'm a huge fan of the series and I really didn't like the movie that much. I thought the jokes were predictable. The characters didn't have the awkwardness that I like on the show so much. It seemed really disjointed. Best part of the movie was the Terry subplot. Hands down.
  14. The Marvel MAX Punisher stuff is really entertaining. Ennis also did a miniseries that readily available called Born, which deals with Castle's last mission in Vietnam which is really a five star comic that everyone should read. The current Punisher War Journal series is really fun as far as putting the Punisher in with other Marvel characters. Fraction's writing is really good, as far as making Punisher out to be a murderous psycho but with a somewhat twisted sense of humor. Olivetti's art is great, and the fill-in issue that Deodato did is one of my favorite single issue stories in a long time.

    NBA 2K7

I haven't been able to get a guard to post up yet. So I finished my first attempt in the Association with the Utah Jazz. With a regular season record of 52-30, Jerry Sloan wins the COTY. For the playoffs, I go 4-1 against Seattle in the first round and sweep Houston in the second round. I have an advantage of 3-1 in the WCF against the Suns and procede to lose the next three games. I get fired as GM.

Well that doesn't sound as bad. As long as he's dead by year's end I'll be happy.

Yeah... You can cross Mar-Vell off that list too.

    Marvel's Civil War

I'd put $5 on Thing surviving Civil War. In the last couple of years he has already been killed and resurrected (during Waid's run).

    Mushroomhead - Savior Sorrow

The song posted isn't one of their better songs but it wasn't ungodly terrible. I begrudgingly saw them live once and I will admit that they do put on a good stage show. Very intense.

    The Official "52" Thread

I just saw that posted on Newsarama and it has definitely piqued my interest. Although the image of a dead Question certainly doesn't make me feel better and I can add him to the list of DC characters that I really liked that got killed in the last three years. Anyway, they've just sold me on WWIII.
