Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?
Steviekick replied to Superfly Snuka's topic in The WWE Folder
They could definitely utilize him as an über-heel. Just play off his natural arrogance/smugness. He doesn't have to be an evil heel, just an ass. By being self centered, he could definitely draw heat. Like in this scenario, RVD keeps hyping that he's returning at the next PPV and costs the main event face the victory by running in and hitting the Van Terminator. Not because he had a grudge or a reason. But just because he wanted to show off. He'd still be completely over and would have a reason to feud with people by continually doing shit to upstage others. -
Jery is fucking awesome. He always stand around and signs shit till everyone is happy.

Could Van Dam be a viable WWE main eventer?
Steviekick replied to Superfly Snuka's topic in The WWE Folder
It's been three years since HHH. With proper build up upon his return, RVD could definitely main event again. Hell, they made Bradshaw a credible champ. -
I love how in that bit he expands it to why people don't walk around in cop uniforms.
-
Very true. I remove that and within 24 hours Raul fucks up his good knee. I'm the worst fan ever.
-
You're just saying that now? They've been at .333 for how long? I blame the uniforms I know, but there were hopes of being Portland-level sucking, but those are ou the window now. I blame the new unis as well.
-
Well, I don't think that the trade is going to go down, as the Jazz' PG Raul Lopez is out for a year with another knee injury. They're down to a backup PG at best in Howard Eisley, and it looks like they are going to effectively become a lotto team.

Well, at least we got to see the Novacane and an attempt at the Spin Doctor. -

Eddie and Booker should definitely get the Pulp Fiction tag-team gimmick. -

What happened to Trish's eye? -
"Goozle" is Southern slang for the Adam's Apple in the throat.

Your still not cheering me up.

Meh. But Booz is the Jazz' leading scorer/rebounder. I know his defense has been suspect, but the dude's got a hell of a lot of upside. And it pisses me off that they would trade him off for such utter crap.
-
As a Jazz fan I'm disgusted, appalled and confused if this does turn out to be legit. However, Haley does have a reputation for bullshitting, so I'm hoping it is just that.
-
I was happy. Usually I get bored during the game, but I was actually into it a lot more than I expected. Props to AI for getting and deserving the MVP.

I was just happy that WM X7 was the largest North American crowd Motorhead got to perform in front of!

Spurs/Heat was a great game.

A Miller marathon just might make me feel better. Rendclaw, I do agree with you that Malone's been annoying with taking forever to make an announcement either way.
-
Bah. Karl Malone was great. Hey, as the token Jazz fan, I have to stick up for him. And Reggie's sister said he's done, too. This day can't get any worse.

If your in MD, you might also want to check out the Baltimore Comic Con. It's the weekend of Sept. 17-18 and they usually have some pretty good talent. It's a great medium sized convention...big enough to get guys like Mark Waid but small enough that you actually get to interact with them.

Heavy Metal and subgenre description
Steviekick replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in Music
Before including this genre in a discussion that mainly resides within the realm of genre and musical conceptualizers, I would wait for a few years to see if MetalCore can gain a long standing influence over several other styles, the way the aforementioned bands and genres have. as it is right now (as Mr. Lazurus knows all to well from me), the genre is little more than a commercial hybrid that is going to have a fairly low shelf life and little impact on Metal, beyond appealing to the teenagers who are rebelling against the midnight curfew and push their plates away from the table because they hate the brussels sprouts. I don't see any upward mobility for the genre as a truly viable and longstanding style, but we'll see if anything can really rise up as a concept leader and bring some good things out of the genre. I kinda agree with that. In five years, metalcore will be a blip on the map, leaving just the bands that had a solid touring history like God Forbid and Shadows Fall around, with people talking about when they still were cool. Kinda like how people treat Nevermore and Overkill. All the crap, like Atreyu and the current incarnation of Killswitch Engage will still be around but no one will care.
