That's what I would have thought, too. Who do you think would be main eventing WCW if it was around today, assuming Bischoff would have bought it?
-
-
Things could get interesting, depending on whatever the stipulations on him working for another promotion are after he leaves. If he and Bisch were to put aside their personal bullshit, they could propably run a hell of a promotion.

Aside from the brawl and the Olympics, I think the biggest thing that's bothering Brown is the way the Pistons are playing. Last year, they played hard and were intense. This year they just seem to be going through the motions.

Early TBolts stuff is always overlooked. It's a great read.

Basically it sucks to be on the short end of the stick. That's why guys that already have a name like Paul London, Spanky, etc. are the best off. If they get fired, they still have their wrestling character name.

I think Havok was necessary on X-Factor, because Peter David needed a straight man for Guido, Jamie and Pietro. But that's just me. I agree with you. Havok also had his own character flaw in the sense that this was his first time being a leader. They kinda hinted that, and if you think as the character as a whole, this is him trying to step up and be better than his brother.

This year I stopped buying monthly comics due to trades being so much k00ler. The titles that I regularly read/enjoyed were Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Fantastic 4, Ultimates, Avengers, Thor, Amazing Spider-Man, and GI Joe, and picking up the occassional story arc that looked good from other stuff. JMS' Amazing Spidey has been very good, aside from the totally shitty Gwen Stacy kids arc. Even that was written well, but the whole concept was shit.

The thinktank is a great idea. DC's been doing it lately, since Rucka/Wincick/Johns/Metzer are all friends and always discussing their projects.

It's not that I don't like things that are in black and white. Things like Bone, Sin City and such that were meant to be in b&w I love. But I hate the essential Marvel TPBs. Parts don't hold up w/o color.

They're releasing a colored version in mid-05. Yes, I love Smith's black and white art, but I'm a sucker for color.

You ARE aware that Neil has been doing quite well for himself OUTSIDE of comics, right? The industry might need him, but he sure as hell doesn't need the industry at this point. It's a shame he won't be doing Thor, because as anyone who's read "American Gods" can attest to, Neil's take on Asgard would definitely be worth reading. I know. I'm a huge Gaiman mark, I've read all his stuff. I'm just bitter he won't be writing Thor.
-
What about those "Marvel Age" stories? But those are pretty flat out retellings of the original stuff.
-
I do see the Massive Attack comparisons that Portishead gets, but they still are completely different. Portishead is more into jazz arrangements.

Apparently the word now is that they tried to get Gaiman to helm Thor, but he couldn't do to his busy novel writing schedule (like people outside of comics care about hiim). So Gaiman came up with a whole concept and basis of the new Thor book, it was fleshed out by JMS, and might be going to Millar. Basically the idea is that Asgard is still dead and all, and as it rots, parts fall to earth, specifically Iowa. People pick up the artifacts and wind up getting possessed by their Asgardian owner (Thor, Loki, Balder, etc.). This is much like the whole original Thor concept.
-
I really didn't think that people actually still cared about AoA stuff. Go figure.
-
Does anyone else find it funny that Marvel hasn't had any "hypertime" issues yet?
-
But that's what Portishead is going for...doomy chill out music.

If we were only that lucky. If it does happen, how long do you think he'll be referred to as HHHe-Man on this board?
-
HHH has the look, but Rock is the better actor. I predict the Rock will get the role which will lead to HHH getting a 14 month title reign as a sympathy gift from Steph.

I was thinking the same thing about Pacheco being on a high profile book. They'll propably send him over to another title so he can get the rub from working with Loeb on S&B.

Oy, I think that's too Russo-ish even for Austen to think up. Well, the "half the evil mutants" thing anyways. Good thing they left the Magneto thing alone for Morrison (by painting himself into a corner where he had to kill him) and Claremont (by using a horrible retcon to bring him back) to fuck up. Then again, in the wrestling world, boinking so many women would probably turn Magneto face... Magneto's a man whore!

Nope. Carlos Pacheco and Jesús Merino are doing the art right now. Carlos is a great artist. I loved his work on Fantastic Four.

DC Comics' Next Big Event after Identity Crisis
Steviekick replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
That makes me mad, as ********* is one of my favorite characters. Well, I guess this means that they'll never be able to get Giffen to do stuff again.
