Speaking of which, I frequently saw the phrase "Dad rock" attached to their most recent album. I still don't know what that means.

    The Compendium of Bad

    They play this band between segments on ESPN Radio online. Why? name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&"> name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" />

    The Compendium of Bad

    Why do they still make rock music? name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&"> name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" />
  4. I think the Dawgs got off pretty easy here.
  5. Every word of this applies to me, as well. I shave about once a month

  8. Or a Pilk or a Prick or something. I don't know! Who can remember? Fuck it! Fucking thing sucks!

"Angsty" would be the adjective, as in "The latest Sadsack platter, Surplus of Pain, is a particularly angsty addition to their well-established canon of crap."

  11. It might have been my mood going into the show, but I wasn't crazy about anyone tonight. I'm still convinced that the Archuleta-Cook showdown is inevitable.
  12. I saw that on the news tonight! What's the big deal? Man in the Yellow Hat for VP!

  14. I'm in the process of sorting through the 3-disc Bob Dylan Bootleg Series box set. It's a little disappointing that the whole "amphetamine" portion of his career is represented by a slim six or seven songs, most of which are false starts. Stephen Thomas Erlewine's contention that everything on here is as good as the best song on anyone else's album is laughable. An instrumental version of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" that's interrupted by Dylan collapsing into a coughing fit is the equal of anything else in the canon? Come on. There's some good stuff here, though. The severely abbreviated piano-and-harmonica only version of "Like A Rolling Stone" is pretty neat. Etc.
  15. No, the conclusion the commisioner came to after speaking to Walsh is that the extent of the taping was already known, so there will be no additional punishment. Story over, for now.
  16. Now I get to listen to Colin Cowherd claim that he's spent three hours discussing SpyGate because nobody cares about New Orleans Hornets basketball. Why do I subject myself to this?
  17. So can we finally stop concentrating on this non-story and shift our focus to ESPN's obscenely premature pre-camp, post-draft Power Rankings? They've got New England at #1! Boo!

    Chansons!

Where else did I hear this? It was in some movie, wasn't it? EDIT: Right, The Darjeeling Limited.

  20. Oh, Jesus. Fuck this league. Utah and Cleveland fans should watch out for some patented NBA Extremely Suspicious Officiating the rest of the way.
  21. From an article entitled The Partying Penis and the Horny Hangover:
  22. Here's a head-scratcher for you: On days when I'm suffering from really nasty hangovers, I feel an intense need to experience a sexual eruption. Why is that?
  23. Happy birthday to CBright7831 (but not CBrights 1-7830, those guys can go fuck themselves) and Hawk52 and DeadBolt. Who are these people?
  24. Tampa embarrassed Atlanta twice last year, and the Falcons have actually gotten worse this offseason. Those games seem like a lock. New Orleans is improved. Carolina is the one real wild-card, as it's hard to know how much of last season's performance you can chalk up to injuries.
  25. Atlanta, Miami, and Chicago are my picks for worst three. I don't even think Baltimore finishes last in their division.
