    An SWF Enhancement Discussion...

My original idea for the ICTV being on Smarkdown is because that's where the new Main Eventers generally come in at, and this way they would get some top time without being overshadowed by the World Title and the established ME. I do agree, though, now that I look at m placement of the Cruiserweight title, that I did sort of devalue it. So how about this? The reasoning I support something like flagshipping is because I like the idea of each show having a distinctive feel rather than each show feeling like the same thing, different name every time. Giving each show a different feeling is something that I'd like to see happen because it might liven things up creatively. Not only this, but when you flagship shows with certain titles, you can assure that those titles get time and defenses, which seems to be something you want with the cruiserweight title. SWF Storm: World and ICTV Description: A more old school, big-game flavor. A lot of contendership matches, plus World and/or ICTV title defenses generally occur on this show. SWF Smarkdown: A focus on newer, fast rising talent. talent, with a more of a flashy style and such. The Tag Titles and Cruisers are featured on this show. SWF "Metal" (Just using this as the JL example): Goes back to the JL roots with a more stip heavy, hardcore show. The top belt is USJL in commemoration of the old starter league, and the Hardcore belt is also a feature on this show. I know there are some problems with it, but I'd like to see something like this at least tried once and see how it works out.

    What makes a “Good Finisher”?

I'm okay with them, it's just I'm not a fan of the ultimate death finisher with everyone. I'm also not a fan of things in the Indies doing utterly insane stuff all the time and kicking out of them. It's just irritating to write because it's something that is rarely built up anymore through storylines. Not only that, but it seems like most people took on an ultimate death-finisher because they wanted something like the Demonstar. The reason I like the Demonstar is that the move was slowly built up to a lengendary status in the fed through an excellent storyline. Even before that move was used, that move was feared. And I thought that was an excellent way to do make something like that. I just don't see people doing that as much anymore, and the fact that so many people have their own devalues them and makes them less spectacular. That's just my opinion on the entire matter. And just to say; I'm hardly a workrate elitist. I just don't like the mechanics of the "One Move to Rule Them All" anymore. It was cool when it was unique, but everyone having a move to put someone in the hospital is just irritating, I guess.

    An SWF Enhancement Discussion...

Hey, anyone up for renaming Lockdown after one of the old JL shows in commemoration of the old league? SWF Metal SWF Crimson SWF Wrath And I've always been a fan of this: Flagshipping. Have something like Storm be the show where you have World Title Defenses and maybe US (It's the upper portion of the lower card) defenses, and would have a lot of the "bigger name' matches on it, almost like a super-card or a mini-PPV to blowoff smaller feuds and raise the heat on larger ones. Smarkdown feature "lower" belts like the ICTV (It's the lower "Upper Card" belt. Plus balancing shows and getting these 'on the brink' people prepared for the ME) and Tag and spotlight younger, less established talent. "Lockdown" would get Hardcore and Cruiser and would have a bit more wild side to it, featuring more stipulations (If you took a JL Show Name here, it would fit in because of the JL's reputation for wild stips). Anyone up for something like this?
  7. You go Mr. Compassionate KKKonservative! Because we all know that “useless thug” Rodney King deserved to get tortured and beaten within an inch of his life! Now that’s some good old Bull Connor Southern Justice!! Now if we could just start lynching Blacks if they whistle at white women like the good old days. I’m always fascinated how one can fling out racist rhetoric, yet when called on it play completely dumb . Guess listening to Rush Limbaugh all of these years has paid off in a BIG WAY. What KKKonservative lacks in creativity it more than makes up for in the accuracy department. Hey, just like that innocent truck driver that rioters pulled out of his truck and beat within an inch of his life! That was great, wasn't it? And he didn't even have to commit a crime to get that one; he was just white in the wrong place at the wrong time! Hypocrite. If you mention Rodney King, you'd better remember Reginald Denny, idiot. Do you realize that you sound like a moron because you are expousing the same sort of rhetoric? Jesus, I swear Tyler should get banning rights on any of the liberals who act like fucktards on this board. And KKKonservatives? Please. I'll just call you LiberalFlipflop from now on.

    What makes a “Good Finisher”?

So why can't I have a no-kickouts finisher simply because I only joined 5 months ago? Or indeed a head-dropping one? If you can write it and use it convincingly, who not use it? After my brief run of psycho-ness I'm not going to be using the Joker Driver regularly, only in REALLY big matches, and not on anyone I can't easily lift for it. It just seems unfair for someone to say "OK, these guys have done this so now YOU can't". If we were stealing their actual MOVES (and they were still around, which neither Thugg nor Silent are), that would be different. No no no nononononono... This isn't an attack on you. I didn't even know you had one like that (Though after reading your stats, I see it and because it's a direct storyline response to Silent, it's a bit more understandable). But look at this from my view: When I first came in in the JL and early on in my SWF Career, the only two people who had super-mega-death moves were Silent and HVT. Both of them made sense and it didn't seem like overkill since both their characters were very much personified by both the brutality and the lack of care for another's safety that the Demonstar and the Thugg Passion emodied. When I left, though, just about everyone had some sort of death move that was in their stats, but they had no real storyline reason for it other than to injury someone at the end of a big match. It was no longer something mythical, it was something cliche. I'd personally like to see people try and get themselves over without that sort of thing, or if they do decide to go that route, slowly and carefully build it up through a good storyline like Silent did with his or through their character like Thugg did with his. And Johnny: I'm just commenting on something that I've wanted to for a while. No new news on a comeback. Sorry.

    What makes a “Good Finisher”?

Yeah, my big 3 for finishers: #1: It fits your character! If you have a stylish guy, you should have a stylish finisher. If you have a down-to-earth technical guy, you should have something that personifies that. Your finisher should be a personifacation of you: It's what fans (Fake or not) will identify you with most in the ring. I had a Diamond Cutter as one of my main ones because it was efficient, fast, and a very flexible move that a Veteran probably would have picked up over the years. Along with my submission finisher and my power finisher, I'd say that my finishers do a pretty good job at defining Judge and his style. #2: Style yet stubstance. We all want a mega-cool finisher, but some things are just outside the logical realm of being able to pull off. Something that takes 5 minutes and requires you to do drop your guy on his head a dozen times is something that you need to avoid. #3: Stick with it! I know I was horrible with this at first, but stick with a finisher and give it history. There's a reason that something like the Demonstar or the Encore Cross or the Joker's Wild or the Walkoff or the Untamed, etc, etc, are feared: Because they were used for long periods of time and got tons of history behind them. Changing finishers around can be good, but the ones you stick with are the ones people remember. My personal dislikes about finishers: #1: NO MORE ULTIMATE DEATH FINISHERS! I HATE THEM! Thugg had one and it was cool because he was absolutely huge. Kibs had one and it was cool because he was the first to really have one without huge size and it was unique. Now you go down the stats page and see at LEAST a dozen of these things. It's getting to the point that I want to declare a roll-up pin as my ultimate death move because both are so overused. #2: Headdrops. I like headdrops, mind you. But I see way too many of them in finishers. Some make sense, but a lot of us started copying those who first started the crazy (Danny, Dace, Taamo...), and it's just irritating. Head drops are something that can injury him badly at the very least and kill him at best. I personally think we need to seriously back away from the two points above because they have been SERIOUSLY irritating me for a while. I know I'm gonna stop doing a few of the things that could qualify for these.

Actually, with the Flint one he did come to Flint. Something obscene like 6 months after for a Get Out the Vote rally, but he did come to Flint. God damn him for not respecting the "grace period" for a killing he obviously caused! DAMN HIM TO HELL!

    More Moore Bashing

And what was he going to do to andle the attacks? Try reading the previous thread that focused on this, instead of asking me to repeat myself all over again. Anything would have been more useful during that time than sitting in that classroom and reading a children's story for eleven crucial minutes. You say "crucial" because nothing could be done at that point, right? Honestly, by the time the second plane hit, everything else that happened was inevitable. What else could he do besides don a Superman outfit and save the day? 11 minutes, at that point in time, meant little because the only thing after that was the investigation into who did it and clean up.

I've just realized that everyone has forgotten guy who would do great here. CIA. Excellent face, would be a blast to write. So the list so far is: Faces Mark: The Gorilla Monsoon of the fed. Mak: Cocky, wiseass face who has tons of technical knowledge. CIA: Witty Canadian who has a knack for the wacky Comet: Over-the-top Superhero act. Annie: See CIA, substitute 'Lesbian' for 'Canadian'. Heels: King: Classic Jesse Ventura Heel Riley: Sneaky, watered-down gay version of Bobby Heenan. NTD: Utterly insane, whacked out heel. Craziness abound. Chris Wilson: Maybe more Triple H-like megalomaniac heel. Ejiro: Much like King, maybe sneakier. Erek: A combo of most of the above. Wildcards/Tweeners: Axis: Consumate Straightman. Frost: More of a serious, straight to business guy. No qualms about critizing anyone about anything. Again, like Taz, but in an Icelandic Hoss sort of way. Neilsen: Um... Stone Cold anyone? Any I miss? Let's hear some combos...

  15. *Black guy is walking down the street* *Two cops walk up* "Hey, can we see your ID?" "Uh, sure." *Shows ID* "Okay then. Carry on." *Walks further down the street* *Two more cops walk up* "Can we see your ID, sir?" "Okay..." *Flashes ID* "Okay, move along." *Walks a little further down the street* *Two more cops walk up* "Sir, we need to see your ID." "Fine..." *Flashes ID* "Very well. You're free to go..." *Repeat, ad infinitum* Is this the scenario you are guys are seeing with this law? I mean, seriously, I think you are overreacting a bit.

    An SWF Enhancement Discussion...

Honestly, I might be in the minority here, but I loved the Axis/King/Edwin triumvirate. They balanced incredibly well (Super Vanilla Guy/Super Evil Heel/Super Wacky Face) and they were just fun for me to write. Personally (And take my opinion with a grain of salt), I think the switching of announcers between shows might be a good thing as long as you can get people who are distinctly different, otherwise it's the "Same guy, different T-shirt" syndrome. Personally, when I was writing, I got tired of writing the same guys over and over again and I loved the idea of having mulitple announcers with possibly different personalities because it can open up different ideas and venues in commentary (Which is something that used to help me write; when my commentary was on, my match definitely was, and the more I was able to vary my commentary the easier it was to feel like the match was varied. The problem, though, is finding writable and distinct personalities that everyone knows and remembers. Here are some possibly suggestions with their archtypes: King (Confident, overbearing Jesse-Ventura heel), Annie (Witty Lesbian Face that's prone to wackiness without the gimmicky stuff that Comet brings), Frost (Serious, more tweener-ish color (I suppose the only comparison is Taz, but that's still a bad one there)), Bobby Riley (More whiny, less dominant heel), Axis (Consumate Straight-Man), "Grand Slam" Mark Stevens (Down-to-Earth Face Commentary). Those are just a few choices and ways to write them to make them seem a bit more distinct and fresh, but I'm sure others have some better suggestions...

    Kerry/Democrat Economic Proposals...

Huh. I work at Mickey D's right now for my summer job and I'm making about a $1.35 above minimum wage, and I find that pretty good for a mentally unstimulating job that requires little to no skill.

    It has happened again

You know what, I'm actually going to agree with Mike on the Geneva convention thing. The Geneva Convention only applies to organized and recognized armies of other countries, which these people are clearly not a part of. They are techincally considered "Illegal combatants" (This is a bit different from the Afganistan thing since there's an argument to make for Taliban forces, but these people are obviously civilians). Considering that they should basically be executed on the spot, I'd consider myself lucky to be still alive if captured by security forces. And I'm frankly tired of "We tortured them!" talk. Did we humilate them? Yes, absoutely, and that's wrong. It's being remedied. But is it torture? No. It's not comparable. We have idiotic frat boy shennanigans on one side, and on the other side we have things like people being put on electrified bed-frames. You can't honestly compare the two because they are on two entirely different levels. To quote Jules from Pulp Fiction: "This isn't the same ballpark, it ain't the same league, it ain't even the same fucking sport."
