  1. Here's a question TSM's Canadian contingent might help me out with (though certainly anyone could answer it) but I was wondering why Goldberg always seemed to get huge heel heat on the occassions when WCW went to Canada? At first I suspected it having something to do with Goldberg ending Bret Hart's career but I think he was getting booed before that.
  2. Fall Brawl '00 actually isn't all that bad. Probably the best WCW PPV of that year (which is obviously not saying a lot). There's a good deal of crap on the card, don't get me wrong but I think the good stuff slightly outweighs it. There's a fun Three Count/MIA six man tag, the aforementioned Steiner/Goldberg match, a decent Elix Skipper/Kwee Wee opener, and The Filthy Animals and Paul Orndorff Vs The Natural Born Thrillers is pretty good up until the abrupt finish. Heck, even the Kevin Nash Vs Booker T match is about as good as you're going to get with a Kevin Nash match not involving Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels ( )
  3. I thought Nash's spiel was amusing at the time but it just came off as lame and kind of forced watching it again. I hit the jackpot earlier today when I found a Daily Motion user who has posted two Nitros circa January '01 and Fall Brawl '00 in their entirety. I think The Nitro from the night after Sin might be a good choice for another one. In retrospect, the segment where they show Sid's gruesome leg break in various angles is unintentional morbid comedy gold. Besides the Nitros might actually be pretty good ( I liked early '01 WCW) or at the very least, better than the one we watched tonight. Interestingly enough, I also found the episode of RAW from the same night as the episode of Nitro that myself, Jingus, and Timmy watched. I'd be intrigued to watch that even if nothing really stands out on the card on paper (Main event is The Rock and The Big Show Vs The New Age Outlaws)
  4. Truth be told (and Jingus will likely vehemently disagree with me here), the first hour of the show wasn't all that terrible. Mediocre but not terrible. Kidman/Psychosis was a perfectly decent opener and David Flair and Crowbar Vs Shane Helms and Shannon Moore while sloppy as hell was somewhat entertaining. The other stuff was completely forgettable and/or too short to make much of an impression. But the second hour? Oh man, the second hour was easily one of the worst hours of wrestling I've watched in ages just completely awful. The long ass Kevin Nash promo will make even the most vehement Diesel apologist relent a little bit. Super J/Masahiro Chono Vs The Varsity Club was negative stars bad and featured arguably- the laziest pier six brawl I've ever seen. And apparently it's what they put at the 9 P.M. slot! Sid Vs The Wall was a lot less terrible than I would have thought but they even managed to mess that up by cutting to Nash ordering The Mamalukes to attack Sid for seemingly no reason in the middle of the match. Lex Luger Vs Bam Bam Bigelow just a boring ass match between two guys way past their prime and DDP Vs Bagwell was an incredibly shitty main event with an incredibly convoluted storyline. Not to mention that special guest referee Kimberly looked like she hadn't even watched a professional wrestling in her life. Just awful. Not even Scott Steiner randomly pummeling the Ohio State Buckeye could save this.
  5. We just finished. It was me, Timmy, and Jingus in the chat. It was one of those shows you don't watch it, you survive it.
  6. Sight I will never erase from my head= Ahmed Johnson wrestling wearing a fanny pack.
  7. I'm going to try and do both but if I can't keep up, I'll just post here. And I'm by myself here! Woo! Jingus just entered!
  8. Well we could do both ala the live PPVs (well the live WWE PPVs- I've never bothered to check the TSM chat during a TNA PPV). I'm not sure if this will cause the board to crash since there won't be anymore than a half dozen or so people here anyways. The board manages to do fine during WWE PPVs when there are a couple dozen people. Should we do it in the TSM chatroom or AIM?
  9. Mine's working fine. I'm glad I'm on my desktop for this. Would have taken forever to get through this with a laptop. Do as Jingus says though. Better safe than sorry as Daily Motion can be a motherfucker sometimes.
  10. Pretty much. Do it in the same style as we would for a live PPV. And it'll be going on in the topic. Though it'd be kind of funny if a bunch of us all of a sudden invaded the TSM chat room to discuss this.
  11. *BLATANT BUMP* This shit is going down in about two and a half hours. I also found a DailyMotion user who has two full Nitros from January '01 and Fall Brawl '00 for possible future editions of this. Please get on this shit and don't turn it into "King Kamala does a running blog on an eight year old episode of Nitro"
  12. Vince Russo confronts Goldberg over "breaking the script" (Nitro the night after New Blood Rising) There aren't enough facepalms in the world...
  13. Yes sir. Bumping this up to remind some more people.
  14. Alrighty then... With the exception of Ernie Ladd, Tito Santana, and The Headshrinkers, my roster is pretty white and I'd like to change that. My next pick is an international superstar and another guy I feel has been overlooked. I think he'd be a huge draw to The Latino market- especially to the Puerto Rican community. I'm going to pair him with Don Muraco- a series that I believe would produce wildly entertaining, blood filled brawls. He is to the WWC what Hulk Hogan is to the WWF, what Jerry Lawler is to Memphis, and what Ric Flair was to JCP/WCW. He's a 26 time WWC Universal World Heavyweight Champion and a former Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Champion... Ladies and gentlemen with my 19th pick and the 322nd pick overall in the All Time Wrestling Roster Draft, I'm proud to select... Carlos Colon!
  15. I don't know if that's correct. Mellow, your verdict?
  16. I barely remember those two wrestling. Savage in '98/'99 was just depressing to watch. Heck, Hennig's WCW run wasn't all that much better. I don't think you would find a lot of people who would have been up in arms if they didn't put any of his WCW matches on the special features. The Rap is Crap music video is all you really need.
  17. You're right. With the 4th of July weekend coming up, this is going to be another slow weekfor the All Time Wrestling Roster draft.
  18. I did! For some reason, I ordered SuperBrawl X (not for that match in particular though) and it's probably the worst mistake I've ever made as a wrestling fan. Awful, awful show. You know a show's terrible when the best match involves David friggin Flair.
  19. Honestly, putting this together is a logistical nightmare.I'm basically limited to shows that are available for free online. Frankly, I'd be happy if there were three or four participants tomorrow night.
  20. Alright folks, just when it looks like this project has been killed by my apathy, I've finally discovered the perfect show to watch. The episode of Nitro from the night after Souled Out 2000, which features such gems as Tank Abbott Vs The Maestro, Masahiro Chono and Super J Vs The Varsity Club, Sid Vs The Wall, and Lex Luger Vs Bam Bam Bigelow amongst others. It also has Commissioner Kevin Nash's HI-larious State of WCW address. I posted the links to the Daily Motion videos in the newest Let's Talk About... thread but in case you're too lazy, I'll post them here too. Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five Part Six I'd like to do this tomorrow night at 8 P.M. I know it might be short notice but I think watching an episode of Nitro circa '00 will be worth dropping plans for.
  21. I didn't think The Maestro was all that bad. He was a guy that came along about twenty years too late. Though his reason for feuding with The Cat might have been one of the stupidest reasons for a feud this side of Booker T and Edge feuding over a shampoo commercial and Kane and Jericho feuding over spilt coffee. Actually, I don't think The Cat and The Maestro ever even had a match during that feud. I think they just cut a few promos on each other and the feud's "blowoff" was James Brown showing up and dancing with The Cat and The Maestro quietly sulking.
  22. I just hit the jackpot in terms of finding crappy WCW videos from this era. The entirety of the episode of Nitro the night after Souled Out 2000. I might provide some running commentary for this tomorrow, anybody with me? Maybe we can tie it into the seemingly aborted "Kamala's Tape of The Month Club" idea I had a while back. Anyways here it is Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five Part Six
  23. Woke up late today so I skipped breakfast Lunch: Vegetable Lo Mein and a Spring Roll from the Chinese restaurant down the street and two glasses of water. Had a 20 oz bottle of A&W Cream Soda in between meals. I try to limit my soda consumption but I had to make an exception. I hadn't had this ina ages. Great stuff. Dinner: Stir fried chicken with veggies and brown rice and another glass of water. I might fix myself some nachos with sour cream later tonight
  24. Damn you again King! I was close to drafting Hardcore Holly with Crash and do the superheavyweight tag team gimmick and pair them against The Skyscrapers but YOU RUINED MY DREAMS!!! *sigh* Anyways, I'm sure this next pick is bound to piss off a ton of people. Not because this man was a well respected wrestler and one of the biggest stars of the 70s but because he would surely have been one of the top picks in the upcoming non-wrestler draft. However, I really wanted a big man showdown and I wanted a likeable everyman to pair up against the arrogant Ernie Ladd. My next pick is one of the most beloved figures in wrestling. There's also potential for a feud with "Superstar" Billy Graham, since the two squared off regularly during Graham's WWWF World title reign. This man is equally as talented as a heel. He's a member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of '94. Ladies and gentlemen, wiith my 18th pick and the 319th pick overall in the All Time Wrestling Roster draft, I'm proud to select... Gorilla Monsoon!
