It took me a couple of weeks with my current avatar/sig setup to realize how incredible gaudy it looks. I wouldn't have it any other way, of course, but man.

Well I'm sure most soccer moms buying a PS3 or 360 are buying it for their kids. People make the soccer mom reference about Wii because thats an audience that Nintendo is specifically targeting with their "casual games" approach.

Coming soon to Japan, but only for "Club Nintendo" members: A Super Famicom controller attachment. Sure, this will only be available in Japan and for club members......at first. I have long predicted that Nintendo would release NES, SNES and N64 variants of the classic controller and sell a crapload of them to their hardcore fans. Personally I think the regular classic controller is good enough for SNES games especially, and it works well enough with N64 games, but I'm sure many people would be all over this.

OK, I'll bite: Marvin, why do you refer to Wii as "Nintendo"? We've already been through all the "W!!" stuff, now why are you so hesitant to call the system by its true name?

Kind of off-topic, but: Has Game Informer always been a corporate shill mag? I remember I had a really old GI issue from late '91 or early '92, which featured reviews of Genesis titles like Galaxy Force II & Jewel Master by such notable luminaries as Andy the Game Dandy and Marian the Game Master (I think those were their names, fuck if I know) and it was filled with ads for Gamestop competitor-turned-acquisition Funcoland. So I guess Game Informer was Funco's official magazine? OK, sorry Andrew, if I allow this topic to veer off track in its second post it could never get back on. So, Ghostbusters! I sure hope it's better than the Genesis game with the big heads! And how about Activision's game based on the first movie? That sure was a strange one, wasn't it?

Not that Wii needs MORE ports, but I might be interested in playing The House of the Dead 2 and 3 on Wii.

I was wondering about that. How involved, exactly, is Jade in the process of making this game? She's listed as the "producer", and she's the one doing all the interviews about the game. But is she really the lead creative force behind it or is it just Ubi playing the "HEY LOOK THIS GAME WAS MADE BY A HOT CHICK" card. And besides being a G4 host, what exactly has she ever done?

I brought this to the board's attention weeks ago. Hilarious, I say. Anyway, the original TSMpedia, started by myself, is still in existence, untampered with by commercial interests: http://tsmpedia.wiki-site.com/index.php/Main_Page

Would doing something like that even require that much work? Sure, you would have to scan all the new wrestlers' faces into the game but THQ obviously has all that on file. I'm sure you would have to put in a few new moves, but not many. I've always wondered how game like that are made - do they design the create-a-wrestler mode first, programming all the animations and creating textures, and then create all the wrestlers in the game using that mode? Because, you know, that would make everything easier.

That certainly was silly, wasn't it!

Remember when Slayer thought I was trying to post like Incandenza.

Why the fuck is Cornette in the Hall and Jimmy Hart isn't?
-
When did Cornette draw money? His fabulous main event run managing Yokozuna in '93? Was it the SMW/WCW crossover feud earlier that year where HE CAME IN AND CUT A PROMO ON JIM HERD AND THE DUMB FUCKS WHO RAN HIM OUT OF WCW SO THAT THE PEOPLE WOULD THINK IT WAS A SHOOT AND THAT SHIT-FOR-BRAINS ERIC BISCHOFF CENSORED IT BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH? Was it his years as a mid-card manager in the faltering Crockett territory?

Depends on how you look at it. If her political manuvering is HOF-worthy on its own, then she should be in. If you think she needs more than that, then she's not. She was the most important figure in women's wrestling for nearly three decades. She trained a great number of the successful female wrestlers during that time. Her influence may not have been for the best but God knows she was important. I suppose my belief that she belongs in the Hall is more along the lines of the DVDVR-style "OOH THEY PUT DIRTY KURT ANGLE IN THERE WHY ISN'T BUNKHOUSE BUCK IN THERE HE COULD THROW A GOOD PUNCH" arguments but there's a great number of people in there less deserving. I mean, there's a freakin' ring announcer in there. I'd even say that she's more deserving than, say, Jim Cornette.

It's still ridiculous that Moolah isn't in the Observer Hall of Fame.

Look around you There are many things to see That some would say could never be These things I know It's true and I will tell you so They are there to see If you believe Trolls and wizards and fairy kings Birds that talk and fish that sing And if your heart is true Then you will find them too In every wish and dream and happy home You will find a kingdom of THE GNOOOOOOOOOOMES
