Nope, not just you. I thought you were b@nnr3d from the WWE folder?

Plus, as stated, Orton doesn't even *look* like a wrestler in casual clothes. He looks like he could be some boy band member or an actor, but not a wrestler. I don't see Kimmel saying anything of the sort of Batista was sitting next to him, even if he was facing Flair.

Aren't PA unions rather weak anyway? The area of PA I'm in seems very pro-union, but in the past unions have often backed away from supporting strikes. Plus Krogers and Country Market have pulled out of the state. To sit in a booth all day, reading comic books? They sure do a great job of fixing up the roads here in PA...

"Corporations are now looking for whatever hot new thing they can find and hoping to god they have some sort of sound that they can fuck with in a computer to make it sound decent and then sell it after throwing it all over MTV and VH1 for a few weeks. It's absolutely pathetic." MTV and VH1 don't even really play music anymore. I blame Clear Channel more than them. The mainstream music scene is shittier than it has ever been. At least the 80's had some great bands that were close to mainstream and much of the pop was ridiculously bad and the so-called "artists" faded away. Who the hell even called them "artists" until recently? We called them bands, musicians, etc. It seems that once that term became popularized it was done as a joke and just placed on "performers" who don't write, play, or sing their music (or if they actually do, they don't do it live).

Jaysus people--go to the VG boards for this stuff. Filtering out the bullcrap: The lawsuit will likely affect just Jakks and not THQ, as a press release has already stated. There's no reason to forsee THQ losing the rights to publish WWE games. THQ themselves have acted in good faith. Smackdown vs. Raw is coming out as scheduled. THQ has always been the PUBLISHER. The Smackdown games were developed by Yukes. The Raw games were made by Anchor, but they're canned and Team Gigante is developing the next X-Box game. The Gamecube games were developed by Yukes, although by a different team than the Smackdown games (one that included some former AKI programmers). Now the opinion portion of my reply... If EA *were* to acquire the license (very unlikely at this point in time), I wonder if AKI would be working on it or they'd get another developer to do it? I'd expect another Mayhem sooner than I'd expect another No Mercy. "The HCTP engine, IMO, kicks the over-rated AKI engine's ass... " HAHAHAHAHA!! They absolutely shot gameplay balance to hell with that game. Plus after SD, SD2, Just Bring It, SYM, and HCTP--it still is only *arguably* better than the engine(s) AKI made many years ago that were "perfected" in far fewer games and far more quickly than Yukes titles. If you want to count Yukes' and AKI's Japanese games, it becomes even more embarassing for Yukes. SD vs. Raw is going to be the 6th SD game and I still expect plenty of flaws in gameplay when they should have gotten it down to a science by now.

Then it says, in parenthesis, "video games." They do have writers listed for the project, but you didn't click the full writing credits link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293429/fullcredits#writers I don't know if that was updated, or if they never bothered to take those names down, though. Naturally, it all can be considered rumors for the time being, but at least it seems they may actually start working on it, although ideally it would have made sense for them to actually have it completed and released soon after Deception came out.

"Man, I thought all this time it was the threat of nuclear proliferation, or global warming, or a asteroid/comet crashing into the earth that posed the greatest threst to wipe the earth out." Naw, just the first one--the second is a myth and the last one--well, you'd know hundreds of years ahead of time.

As far as pure entertainment value, I'd say Dr. Strangelove following closely by FMJ.

Anyone think Drawn Together is actually going to be any good? Looking at the writers' resume, okay--they did Andy Richter's show, but they also did The Man Show and Crank Yankers. Plus some show called Action I've never even heard of. However, the concept itself plus CC's playing the commercials 5,000 times make me less than enthused about it. "Megas is by far one of the best orginal shows on Cartoon Network..........it has Bruce Campbell as a wrestling promoter! Plus all of the pop culture mockery is funnier than the current SNL especailly this weeks episode with Mr. T-bot! Come on Megnamous in the Buba Ho-tep mecha with chainsaw arm & shotgun just rules." MAG-NAN-I-MOUS! Also, yes--Bruce is always awesome although I would have liked to see the T mech whoop a little more BUTT and throw Megas hella far at least once.

Ashley (who the hell spells it with two e's?) at least has a bitchy, trashy air about her that makes her infinitely more interesting than her sister. Jessica could hardly be any more boring and generic. That being said, it is a tragedy that they anything played at all, and it would have ruled if she was forced to actually sing live. That'd be priceless. I remember dancing like that when I was 8 years old and had to go to the bathroom.

A for effort, F for execution. Still--fuck Foley.

Considering the production date, I'd figure they'd be fairly certain about that tidbit. I agree to capture more interest they should go with DA's story, since nobody gives a damn about MK4.

"I'd like to play GTA: San Andreas and not wait for almost a year for Rockstar to port the game to XBox." Play Vice City in the meantime. Seriously, it's going to be the same damn thing. Or find a PS2-owning friend that will let you crash at his place. Usually the local places will let you, but with a cash deposit. The chains will probably let you rent consoles as well without the deposit, but that's because they have your credit card number...

Dobson is a fan of intro-rectal digestion I see. Norway?! I fail to see any logic behind that argument at all. I guess "different culture mores" never occured to Dobson. I don't blame one being against partial-birth abortion, and I can understand being upset about gay marriage--but seriously...this is some of the poorest "logic" I could think of.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293429/ Well, there's a director for the new MK movie. Ironically, the director is the same guy who directed Highlander 1 and 2. Hmph, maybe Lambert will be back too. So yes, he directed Highlander 2, but while I'm not familiar with the guy's overall body of work, I doubt he's worse than WS Anderson. Supposedly the movie is based on MK4, which makes sense because in MK: A Shinnok made brief appearances and that movie basically covered MK3. However, Shinnok is also the worst MK boss ever and MK4 is probably the least popular game in the entire series (save the spinoffs). At least if the rumor is true we should see Goro return, although I wouldn't mind if they brought in Kintaro instead.

The problem with the first Paper Mario is that it was an extremely dumbed-down and easy version of what was ALREADY a dumbed-down and easy RPG, Super Mario RPG. However, SMRPG was still a good game, and you'll see people tremendously overrated to this day. So is PM2 more of the same?

Raw script finished "much later" = 5 minutes before showtime instead of 30 minutes before show time? Is 4000 for a TV show taping really that good?

This is kind of why I had doubts about the legitimacy of the Guardian when that Iraq payoff story came up. Granted, at least the Brits actually have a reason to piss and moan since they do have troops over in Iraq.

The idea is to do something in that vein, but do it right.

Liu Kang is Player 1 and Kung Lao is Player 2. Yeah, that's a pretty crappy, uninformative article, but the best I could find online right away.

BTW, you *may* be interested to hear that Sonic Mega Collection Plus is supposed to be coming out on PS2 the first week of November.

Where's it at? I'm sure I know of it -- I just don't know the names of the one or two theaters to see the one or two big-budget films I usually go to per year... At the Waterfront. The address says "Homestead, PA" which I guess is right, but it is right between Pittsburgh and West Mifflin. They have stadium seating, awesome sound systems, a HUGE screen, a built-in restaurant, a gignormous snack bar, and an arcade that had everything from Tekken 4 and Time Crisis to one of the Capcom vs. fighters to Metal Slug . Plus it is a short walk to a Border's bookstore where I found a Batman vs. Predator trade paperback.

Actually, WWE's only got a problem with Jakks and this isn't likely to affect their relationship with THQ in any way. http://cube.gamespy.com/gamecube/wwe-wrest...x/558565p1.html "THQ sent out a press release to comment on the unfolding events : THQ is committed to preserving its rights under the video-game license with the WWE. THQ believes the WWE is pleased with the manner in which THQ has managed their brand in the video-game category. As THQ is not directly accused of any wrongdoing in the complaint -- rather the complaint alleges wrongdoing on the part of JAKKS Pacific and others of which THQ was and is unaware -- THQ is not in a position to comment on these allegations. In any event, either there is no basis for terminating the video-game license, or THQ expects to be made whole by those whose conduct is eventually found to be unlawful. THQ intends to vigorously protect and pursue its rights, if necessary."

ARGH! You paid money for Game Informer? Shame on, Anya. If you had a subscription with the discount card I could understand... You play online?
