See.. I do know how to pick em.. there's only one thing that can stop Brad Henry-mania.. and that's defeat in 2006. It'll all depend on the primary schedule. I suspect that the Midwestern and Southern candidates will fare well in Iowa. Unless there's a massive ad war (such as Gephardt/Dean). Then whoever has the momentum will do well in New Hampshire. A good candidate would keep enough reserves for some runs in Texas and Florida. Both of them have a lot of delegates. California would be expensive as hell to run much in. Since the LIV was proposed back in the 1870s and never really considered until the mid-1980s. So, to recap.. pork-barrel spending and stalling bills is something that only Democrats have done. Republicans are too busy feeding starving lepers to do that stuff. I guess it's better to propose it now, than to wait until Robert Byrd died or retired. The GOP will need just 12 votes in the Senate and about 55 or 56 votes in the House. It may not be that hard. And I have little doubt that the Dems will fight it. Yeah.. if they pass another bill, it'll be shot down. And rightly so. Considering that Dems like Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschle (Senate Minority leader), Wendell Ford (then-Senate minority whip), Paul Wellstone, Diane Feinstein and others in the Senate, along with 71 Democrats in the House, voted for the Line-Item Veto.. i'm sure it'll be a brawl. and on checking the house vote, switch another vote in favor for the wagering, as Schumer voted for the LIV in the House. The "Why did Americans vote for him, what's wrong with them" attitude is a lot like blaming the players when the coaches and their plans are the problem. Nothing's really achieved by the "They're idiots" method. There's a lot of people out there who could vote for the Democratic party, but for some reasons, they choose not to vote for John Kerry. My general candidate for 2008 is someone who can be considered likeable and able to do a good job. Just watch Brad Henry lose in 2006 and screw my plan up. The 2008 primaries will be an epic bloodbath for the first two primaries, then we'll know who the nominees are.
