  1. Bob, I don't think you're important enough to be cursed. Good job in keeping away from Barack Obama. Speaking of Barack.. Obama - 73% Keyes - 22% Other - 5%
  2. I think the Zogby stuff from 2000 had Lazio/Hillary as a close race. I think they called it for Hillary after about 500 votes were counted. That must have been pretty crushing. I've been feeling confident. I'd say there's been a move towards Kerry in the last week or so. I don't think the Osama tape has done much to help Bush either.
  3. He could have gotten a rug from Jim Traficant if he wanted one
  4. Hopefully you can see this.. this is the county map of Louisiana for Jindal/Blanco: I recall there being some article sorta countering the "Duke voters gave it to Blanco" claim. (and St. Tammany, the parish which Duke was the GOP chairman for some reason, went for Jindal. I'm just mentioning that) So.. will Vitter need a runoff?
  5. Louisiana: Tamany Hall Was a Bunch of Pussies. -=Mike The Louisiana Democratic Party: "Let's win this one in December!"
  6. Louisiana - "We're still better than Mississippi"
  7. Is there a story as to how Jimmy Hayes (Congressman and party-switcher) tanked in his run for the Senate in 1996? Can you tell us why Louisiana went to an open primary in the first place?
  8. That almost goes without saying. LA is a joke. -=Mike One ballot, 10 candidates. Louisiana's open primary - the product of drinking Louisiana - "Vote for the crook. It's important" Any state where David Duke is not a SIGNIFICANTLY worse candidate for Governor than the guy who won is just sad. -=Mike ...Edwards was REALLY shitty... If Edwin Edwards gets out of prison soon, he could always run for office again. The sad thing is that Duke beat the Governor of Louisiana (Buddy Roemer) in the open primary. When you're the Governor and you lose to David Duke and a crook. As for South Dakota.. I had heard rumors of there being monitors to help the Native American vote. Or something of that sort. The point/counterpoint for that appears to be "Native Americans are disenfranchised v. Reservations stuff the ballot boxes" both could be true as well. There's also talk of good turnout from the Navajos in Arizona and New Mexico. Missouri is having a clean campaign so far.. other than the Republican congressional candidate digging up forms from the 1970s which forced the Democrat (Emanuel Cleaver) to admit that he shaved a year off his age in the 1960s while filling out a drivers license application in Texas, so he could impress girls (since they'd think he got his license at a younger age). No word on if that worked. And yeah, since that info transfered to his Missouri drivers license, marriage license, and other forms.. that might not go over well. But Cleaver will still win
  9. That's probably true. Why else did James Carville marry Mary Matalin.. In his case, it's that "Beggars can't be choosers" thing. -=Mike ...Bella Abzug wasn't a Republican. Then again, I'm not convinced she was a woman... to be fair. Carville probably had hair when he married Matalin. Maybe.

  12. Louisiana is really corrupt, but I don't think that counts for much
  13. Jack Grimes would be a shoe-in if not for his third-party status.
  14. We should also post whenever we vote or whatever. I wanna vote around 7 in the morning. We'll see if that works out for me.
  15. That's probably true. Why else did James Carville marry Mary Matalin..
  16. John Kerry has a plan to respell tomorrow into tommorrow
  17. considering the 35,000 challenges filed in Ohio amounted to nothing.. i'm sure that there'll be havoc tomorrow. anyways, we all know that Jack Grimes is going to win Ohio now
  18. here's my predicted popular vote finish of the third party candidates Badnarik Nader Cobb Peroutka Walt Brown (Socialist) John Parker (Worker's World) Roger Calero/James Harris (Socialist Workers) Bill Van Auken (Socialist Equality) Leonard Peltier (Peace & Freedom) Gene Amondson (Concerns of People) Charles Jay (Personal Choice) Earl Dodge (Prohibition) and the 2000 results for third parties: Nader Buchanan Browne (Libertarian) Phillips (Constitution) Hagelin (Natural Law) James Harris (Socialist Workers) L. Neil Smith (Arizona Libertarians) David McReynolds (Socialist) Monica Moorehead (World Workers) Denny Lane (Grassroots) Earl Dodge (Prohibition) and the last place finisher in 2000 was this guy and here's more candidates: http://politics1.com/ind04.htm Your choices vary
  19. Peltier all the wa- ok.. nevermind..
  20. but Mike makes no promises about your wife's BUTT. Or so I hear
  21. And here's a RCP flashback from November 2000: http://web.archive.org/web/20001110051000/...-EC_ALWAYS.html that was a little bit off..
  22. I think the DC system is a bit flawed. Give them the Louisiana "Open Primary" since DC is basically dominated by Democrats. It'll give them something to do in November. So unless the DC delegate gets voting rights and another seat is created, I don't see how the Electoral College can have an odd number of votes. I'm not talking about electing Senators from DC, or upgrading the Mayor to a "Governor" status. That might be a bit much.
  23. if the EV is divided sorta proportionally, it could be interesting. Meaning.. If Florida is close again, then both sides would get 12 electoral votes at the very least, then the side closer to 13 would get that electoral vote and the overall winner of the state gets two more electoral votes Leaving a 15-12 split The Electoral College can stay, but I want to change one thing. I want to give gthe vote to Puerto Rico, American Samoa and Guam. You can combine the Guam/Samoa votes. As well, I'd favor a way to have an odd number of Electoral College votes. Possibly by a slight increase in the size of Congress to 437 (maybe by giving voting rights to the DC delegate) that might be a bit far out.. idk
  24. Osama does know that individual US states can't make foreig-- nevermind.. So, this is a war against Islam (and not just against terrorists, who just happen to practice a radical brand of Islam) who'll keep an eye on Dearborn?
  25. Fox News poll of likely voters says: Kerry 48%, Bush 46% and supposedly Rush is not having a good day
