  1. here's what I heard about the Republican-led challenges in heavily-Republican Licking county, Ohio. 55 challenges, all 55 were stuck down. And some of the people challenged were Republicans who were a bit displeased with being challenged
  2. although if Kerry gets the majority of newspaper endorsements, he'll join Johnson (1964) and Clinton (1992) as Democrats who have achieved that
  3. Ha Ha NBC is reporting the Jim Miklaszewski story right now UPDATE (5:34 CST): and Brokaw is clarifying that what they reported wasn't the same as what Drudge and Bush are saying.
  4. we really do need an "Endorsements Thread"
  5. Does Gallup think you're a likely voter? http://www.usatoday.com/news/graphics/electionquiz/flash.htm I think I get by, but i've also voted three times this year (Presidential Primary, City Council Election, State Primary), so I get points for effort
  6. and another reporter who was there (Jim Miklaszewski of NBC) So, where do you want to bury this story? Yucca Mountain is a good place Maybe you can bury it in Afghanistan. Just so it's easier to scream "la la la la la la NBC said one sentence about it la la la la la I'm not listening la la la la la it never happened la la la la"
  7. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/...0_24.php#003804 hmmm.. probably part of the evil master plan.
  8. I could be wrong, I think American drug companies are making a profit. But there's a managable way that they could lower prices voluntarily. If they lower it enough that they go out of business, that's their choice. The Government won't force them to do anything. I'm sure something can be managed. If need be, I'd imagine the prize freeze with the Canadian drug companies would only apply to business in Canada (unless I suck at intrepreting Canadian law), and if they wanted to, they would raise prizes for what they offer to America. It's about opportunity and having a market with another open door.
  9. I'm almost scared to try using the key again. The status quo on quotes has returned. Which is good for all. Granted, I don't know if there's really too much interest from others to accept that offer. I'd imagine that on this issue, like most CE issues, there's not really much room in the middle. Yes.. that would also require the removal of 380 tons of explosives in 3 weeks, in the middle of a warzone. I'm sure somebody is an expert on moving large amounts of explosives. Although it appears that the troops who went though Al Qa Qaa found RDX. Stuff that is missing at the moment. And we'll see if anything comes of that NBC report. Right now, i'm in the spot where I can either mention something negative, or not. Either way, it wouldn't matter. I will admit that he's had very bad luck with sports-related photo-ops the article does note that they were way off on their 2000 predictions. While they made the pretty obvious prediction in 1996. I'm not too comfortable with their expertise in 'close' elections. I'd say there's a very slim shot of Bush getting 54% (as predicted by 3 respondents) or 55% (as said by 2) and no chance that Bush gets 58% of the vote. Then again, if anything in those formulas is predicting a big Bush victory, it's the economy. The economy is lackluster compared to 2000, but not horrible either. In your heart, you know you're right.
  10. I see no reason to expect that to happen. Again, gov't interference killed the flu vaccine industry. Force countries to take losses selling in the US and they'll simply stop making medications and do something else. -=Mike I'd think what Kerry is going for is allowing for such a thing to happen. Which could cause a drop in American drug prices, so they don't lose too much business. It would be their decision, not the Government's decision.
  11. the thing I see happening is that if the drugs from Canada could be imported is that American drug prices will go down enough to cope.
  12. things got so heated.. we broke the quote tag. If something is said constantly, it doesn't become reality. You, uh, were saying? We'll see about that. Is proof a word unknown in South Carolina? I guess I misintrepreted your claims about how you were wounded more than he was in Vietnam. Or how Bush was in more danger. Max was a soldier, due to his time in the military. That's a fact. I didn't actually vote for Kerry in the Missouri primary. I voted for John Edwards. Although in retrospect. Kerry was a better candidate than Edwards. Maybe. Maybe not. We'll see. Right now, I'd say Bush isn't exactly the favorite to win. I'm sure whatever I post, you'll claim it's from there
  13. It's a shame that your material isn't original. You copy and paste it from Drudge. From LGF. From whoever. Actually, when I cut and paste, I freely cite my source. As do I I guess we'll have cookies for that accomplishment At least it's MY bullshit and not bullshit that sombody thought up on my behalf. Please tell me which thing I mentioned was posted on that site first. Come on Mike.. Show me. and yes.. you do provide a lot of bullshit. Thanks for confirming. I have the NBC Nightly News story from 10/25/04 on my side. I posted the link to the video. I assume you've watched it and all. thoroughly? BY ONE FUCKING REPORT ON DRUDGE? (well.. unless that really was 110,000 tons of explosives. Which is unlikely. But if you can prove it. Prove it.) I invite ANYBODY to go to dailykos and tell me they don't see every inch of material you bring here already posted there. I invite you to go there and CITE IT. And the TPM stuff was from that site anyways. Unless it's my fault when it's mentioned on the site too. http://www.dailykos.com/ go for it Mike! I'm also certain of your specific reason for disliking Markos. Kos' reaction when the contractors in Iraq were killed? "Screw 'em" Yep. That's what I thought. And coming from somebody who has routinely bashed a triple Purple Heart winner and a triple amputee. You clearly have a lot of room to talk about "respecting our men and women overseas" (of course it doesn't matter, but that was a pretty stupid thing to say.) Which they absolutely did. They prolonged the war --- but I expect you'll go into a Laurence O'Donnell-esque rant about that... John Kerry, in 1971, prolonged the War to about.. 1973 (US withdrawal) or 1975 (fall of Saigon). If it weren't for John Kerry, we would have won it in 1972! "Trust me, Oliver North told me so!" - TheMike Benedict Arnold went to a war. Doesn't make him a hero. Uh huh Mike.. and this proves something, I suppose. "It justifies my hatred for liberal soldiers!" - TheMike Yes Mike, Keep believing it was the lack of three limbs which helped his politicial career, and not anything else. "Simplicity is fun" - TheMike I guess those amputees in Iraq should bless God that they didn't lose their limbs in the states. Feel free to tell them that too. I'll have 911 on speed dial Hell, I don't CARE if you fellate Kerry. That is your judgment. "fellate" isn't the right word to describe what you do to George W. Bush. "Deep Throat" works though. (strange, you seem to love projecting all your traits onto others) Yes, we should exile him to a castle for saying two very dumb words. Nobody should ever be forgiven for mistakes. Ever. I'll write that down on scrap paper. I'm pretty sure you're living in a warehouse, since your ego can't fit into most rooms. Mike - "EVERYBODY WHO DOESN'T THINK THE WAY I DO IS AN IDIOT" Not everybody. Smitty seems rather bright. Tom and I disagree on issues. Nothing but respect for him. Well.. yeah, there's an exception or two. *sniff* You are truly wounding me. I don't intend to wound you and I don't expect to wound you. If I did, then you should get some cheese with that whine. Well, you can scratch off the first word. It's where I put most of your posts because, unlike you, I lack the desire to stalk you and keep records of your posts. People who have a tendancy to make claims that they won't back up tend to find their words brought up. Teke - i'd imagine that the looting was gradual. Meaning that not all of it happened in those six days. But the post-4/4 looting was a sign of a security failure. As for the actual post-invasion looting. I'd imagine there would be some people who knew the facilities who would go in to find whatever they could of explosives. Ah, so your debunking of the story is really weak rationalization without even the tiniest shred of evidence? We'll see, but I have faith that I am on the side of the facts and Mr. Drudge isn't. True. It's hard to take anything the MSM says seriously. Unless you agree with it.
  14. It's a shame that your material isn't original. You copy and paste it from Drudge. From LGF. From whoever. It's a shame that you have to spout tons of bullshit. It's a shame you have your fingers so far in your ears that they're touching each other, as you scream 'la la la la I CAN'T HEAR YOU'. I'm certain you cannot prove your claim. But proof has never been a quality that you've possessed. I'm also certain of your specific reason for disliking Markos. But then again, you're also the guy who claims that Kerry's actions killed American soldiers, that Max Cleland was a fuckup, and various other pleasant comments on people who went to war, UNLIKE YOURSELF (I should note) I'd also advise you to tone down the stone throwing on that "best serve humanity" thing because you could be serving humanity a lot better by being something other than a shill for George W. Bush I'm pretty sure you're living in a warehouse, since your ego can't fit into most rooms. Mike - "EVERYBODY WHO DOESN'T THINK THE WAY I DO IS AN IDIOT" No thinking person can think you're a moderate because you're conservative on every issue and liberal on drugs, hookers and gambling. File my post to you under "Tough Shit" on to more pleasant things. And just because Drudge reports around a sentence of a news report doesn't mean that "it's all over"
  15. vomiting.. well.. that's a unique way to show shock and disgust at election results.
  16. every point? including the info on munitions, the info on explosives, so on and so forth. Are you sure you're not an avid reader of the site? It seems you're making quite a statement. Oh yeah, what where the things confirmed about me that you mentioned when I mentioned my membership over there? you never did answer that
  17. are you going to eat the pizza?
  18. where did I quote him in the last post. I quoted you and Drudge. Are you Kos? Are you?
  19. this story is in it's "Furious Spin" phase but.. this part of Drudge's story has been blasted As shown in the links. Troops arrived on April 4, 2003. Not April 10. Drudge is unleashing "Furious Spin" here
  20. The place was cleaned out before they got there. Nothing else needs to be said nor will anything further be said. Keep clutching for straws, though. It's almost comical. -=Mike "Nothing to see here.. move along" no possible explosives were there these are not the explosives we are looking for.
  21. Nah.. I wanna know how that "breaking" security council story is going for the Washington Times. Any dispute to the article that mentions US troops taking al Qa Qaa on April 4th, 2003?
  22. thoughts on Ohio Turnout is key the people who voted Nader in 2000 may come out to vote Kerry Some Bush voters could cross over. Some Gore voters could cross over. We'll see when it happens.
  23. from TPM (I wonder where Mike will stop reading this) and the NYT followup: and here's something interesting.. http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?sf=2813&art...d=2813&set_id=1 It appears that US troops were at al Qa Qaa on April 4th I'm sure there's a correction to be made.. that the NBC crew got to al Qaa Qaa on 4/10, yet there were stories talking about how we had that plant on April 4th
  24. The video of Robfather's source: http://video.msn.com/video/p.htm?t=1&i=cdd...67-d13e7832a51a and MSNBC isn't on the same page as NBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6323933/ Hmmmm..
  25. Once again.. you are confusing munitions with explosives. I'm sure if Charles Johnson or the Bush adminstration had proof that our army had 99% of their explosives, then they would put it out. Yet.. that's not happening. But we are destroying a lot of munitions. It's not a massive problem that we have explosives out in the open. We've whupped ass on bullets. Since all weapons are created equal
