You wonder just exactly who they'd put in the #1 contender spot...I mean, what faces outside of JJ, Raven, and D'Lo could be a good foil to AJ? I mean, maybe give Lo Ki another shot? I'd do it without a shadow of a doubt...

Zach is supposedly a good heel...I don't know. Lesnar squashing the kid means I'm happy...but like...no Matt Hardy? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!

Heyman's booking prowess would not be good for ROH, because they are all about wrestling, and while Heyman likes that, as well, he wants to work in some storylines to go with it. Now, if he went to TNA...it's his perfect fit. And I think Vince is only keeping him around so that what he fears doesn't happen to him: More competition.

A TRUE forgotten classic: I think it was Clash XVI, but it could have been XIV...anyways, it was supposed to be The Enforcers, Zybysko and Anderson vs. The Texas Boys, Windham and Dustin Rhodes. Windham got his hand broken by Zybysko weeks before, so Rhodes had to go and get a replacement: RICKY STEAMBOAT. This match is probably the most forgotten classic tag match of the 90s, and it's a crying shame, because Steamboat changes his last name to Morton and the Enforcers cheat like HELL to try and win. It's just a helluva match, seeing heel tactics that are just classic and whompass in nature. Rhodes does what he does best, and that's be the hot tag man, and boy HOWDY does he ever whoop ass. Steamer skins the cat and hits the bodypress for the win. Somebody needs to get that match so I can see it again. Just southern tag brilliance...

Kandori vs. Hokuto is the greatest joshi match ever, period. No other match touches it. HOWEVER...when comparing it to the greatest puro or lucha or US matches...that's comparing apples to oranges, right there...

Gary Coleman MUST...and I repeat, MUST have a lieutenant governor named Willis...or else I don't vote.

What would really be funny is if Kawada gets screwed again, like he did in the last TC tourney in 2000, when Tenryu beat him for the belts. He NEEDS to win here, so he can draw some people in. Also, at this point, I think the TC MUST be defended elsewhere to gain it's credibility back, because at this point, not too many people care anymore.

Poor DEAN...he's no more... DAMN THE CRASH~! But Jaromir Jagr does own...until 2001, that is...

Benoit/Billy Gunn from 2000...Billy gets gassed and Benoit makes him tap...just so fun to watch Billy get exposed. Then, the next night on RAW, he tops it by almost dropping Benoit on his head with a press slam... And I'm sorry, but I can't help but love those X-Division multi-man matches. The ones that aren't the 4-man from week 2 or the 6-man from week 12. Just fun to watch all the spots... -
And if I may say so, Mr. Mann, that was a great piece of internet literary work, not unlike some of my works over there, but I think it's weird how people throw out the big ***** out there a lot. There aren't too many great matches now, and probably won't be for a while... Great article...and now...my list From Japan Jumbo/Tenryu-6/5/89 Jumbo/Misawa-6/8/90, with the rematch coming very close...methinks in Sep of the same year Misawa/Kawada-6/3/94 Kawada/Taue vs. Misawa/Kobashi-6/9/95 Same pairing-10/15/95 Kawada/Taue vs. Misawa/Akiyama-12/6/96 Kobashi/Misawa-1/20/97 The lone joshi match I've watched is Kandori/Hokuto...and it's ***** even without knowing the story. Absolutely harrowing. Also, Wolvie...no love for Sasuke/Benoit? I mean...it's not even in your "Just Close" list... From the US Steamboat/Savage-WM 3 All three Flair/Steamboat's in 89 Rey/Eddie-HH 97 Benoit/Angle-RR 2003 Benoit/Angle vs. Rey/Edge-No Mercy 2002 There are many that come close...but too many to list.

Let's face it once and for all: Vince McMahon sells entertainment, not wrestling. He's not interested in the wrestling, he's interested in making money off the wrestlers act. Ten years ago, when wrestling mattered, WCW put their best WRESTLERS first, as opposed to their best entertainers. Ted Turner=Vince McMahon, in the fact that they both like entertainment over wrestling. Heyman and some others are all about the wrestling, while others are Vince stooges who are all about the DRAWMUH. The fact that Eddie, or Benoit, or Dragon, or even Rey, for that matter, have gotten any kind of significant push recently should not be surprising. It's guys like Vinnie Mac and Turner and Russo who totally destroy the sport and turn it into spectacle. That is why I choose not to watch most of the PPVs, because I can't handle all the entertainment when I'd rather be watching the wrestling. A wrestler can be entertaining and fun to watch (like Hardy or Eddie), but an entertainer isn't necessarily have to be a good wrestler (like 95% of the WWE roster). I'm certain that somewhere down the line, somebody is gonna step up and say, "I don't wanna be part of this circus act," and most will follow suit and make another organization that people can enjoy, but I just don't see anything in the immediate future that's gonna make me want to watch more. And if any blame is to be put to this, send it to the sorce: Vince McMahon, for not caring a fuck less about the actual sport that many fans have grown to enjoy, while he'd rather make drama and stupid skits.

The five way Golden Cage is SICK. Just well booked and all that good stuff. I like El Numero Uno 2001, and then I've heard great things about Toryumon Comes to Japan, and El Numero 2003, so go ahead and pick those up.

Holy shit...good call on the RVD carrying UT in the Hardcore title match. UT basically just let RVD hit him with everything he had while he played the Sandman "old bastard" selling down to a "T", and then he just hit RVD with bomb after bomb until he hit the BIG bomb. That might be the only match I remember with RVD carrying the match, but that does stand out. And Shalashaska, give it up already. This whole "I'm being an asshole" gimmick is getting kind of lame, and I, for one, don't really appreciate it. You're turning into the Jubuki of the entire forum. The reason RVD does the same goddamn thing over and over for the last two years is because he hasn't exactly been given the green light to go out there and do whatever he's wanted to do. You can pin that on 95% of the wrestlers in WWE right now. There are very few, and I mean VERY few wrestlers who are out there and able to do moves outside of what they've done for most of their careers. Benoit: Chops and kicks, Lariat/Elbow, Snap Suplex, Backdrop, Germans, Headbutt, Crossface-And yes, I know he has the powerbomb back. He's only been able to do it to Guerrero, so I'm not counting it yet. Angle: Punches and kicks, Belly to Belly, Backdrop, Snap Suplex, Germans, Angle Lock/Angle Slam (interchangable) Jericho: Chops, Dropkick, Backdrop, Flying Forearm, Lionsault, Walls of Jericho So can somebody please tell me why RVD's moveset of Kicks, Legdrops, Standing Moonsault, Rolling Thunder, Monkey Flip, Springboard Bodypress, Split-Legged Moonsault, and the Five-Star to finish isn't similar to any of the other movesets that I've mentioned?
