    SMARKDOWN 1/10 WORKRATE REPORT~!

What in the hell? Anyway, nice work, Tom. As far as the show goes itself I thought it was pretty good. The developments between Toxxic/Sacred has me intrigued. It's going to be intresting to see how this plays out after Storm goes up. Add on Mak Francis wanting a piece of Sacred and we could be looking at the beginnings of a very intresting three way feud. It'd be nice to see more from the World Champ on the show too, Landon.

Mike, even if you plan to explain the changes in an opening promo what are we to write for the changes in the match? Say "It was all explained earlier" or pretend as it was always booked that way? I hope this isn't going to become a common pratice. :\

Well if thats how you want him to be thats cool. Now that you've stated that it helps me with the next time I write him in how I should present him.

    Smarkdown Losing Matches

Before I say anything I just want to point out that I have no idea why MVS made whatever decision that he did in regards to the match. However, I’ll give you my opinion on the match which, in the end, may be nothing more than my own personal writing taste. I’ll try though… First, the match comes off as a little hard to read at times. There are way too many commas when there doesn’t need to be any. I’m not the greatest with the grammar myself either, not by a long shot, so I won’t harp on that much. It might also help to break up the flow a little bit and not always have such long blocks of wrestling action all the time. It’s not always bad, but when the match is chockfull of them it gets muddled. Try a little commentary to split up those blocks and to help spice up the action, or at least give more insight to the action. Sell points with the commentators as well… which after looking over your match again you do have them do that so never mind that one. Secondly, use more exclamation points to get over exciting, fast paced happenings in your match. Far too often it’s a period to close out ever sentences except when the commentators are speaking. Yes I do realize that you DO use the exclamation points, but like I said, you could use a little more of them. Thirdly, use some different names, it makes it flow so much better and easier to read. There is way too much Dangerous, King, Korgath, Wildchild. Again, maybe it’s personal taste in how I write, but I use Max, King, the Icon, and even Max King together. For Johnny I have Dangerous, Johnny, the Barracuda, the Secret Agent, the Agent… you get the idea, toss the monotony out! That right there could help improve your product a lot, I promise! You use it to an extent already, but I’d do it a little more often while watching to make sure your not adding too much to the word count by using names that are more than one word. As for your match itself you seemed to be going for the same point as I was. It was to be a night of ‘Pure Wrestling’, which was bound to be spoiled by the heels, obviously, since they break the rules all day, anyway…mostly. I liked that part for obvious reasons. The Royal Order’s plot device for the match was to get some vengeance for Slay Ride and to get on the right track with a win. I picked that up from the beginning, but it wasn’t really in the match’s atmosphere, and I don’t know if I can really explain that one correctly. I’d just pick my point and keep driving it home till it gets me there, personally. *shrugs* It also starts off a bit odd for me. The first move of the match is Max King spearing Johnny Dangerous into the corner, which is just way to big of a move to start with. I’d suggest using fist, lock ups into some mat work, or maybe a clothesline. Simple moves to start with before going for an easily dodged spear on a fresh opponent that’s waiting for you to make a move. The only times I think you can get away with a big move to start is if it’s sold right. Like catching someone with their back turned or using it as a counter to something… suckering somebody in for you to get them with that move. *Also, Wildchild always starts W&D tag matches out. I should really put that into the stats, sorry. I’ll fix that* I really like the parts where King grabs the microphone in the middle of the match to yell at the crowd as well as Kelly’s fake injury with everyone in the match stopped and watching EMT’s tend to her. Those were gold! The match itself isn’t bad at all, not by any means, so I hope you don’t take this wrong. I love the character of Max King, Kelly Connelly, (and MOLLY send nude Molly pics if you have them) so please, do not give up! Once you hit your groove your going to go all the way. I’m not so sure about Korgath; all I know is that he’s a 350lb Gaijin from Japan, and the Knight of the Royal Order. He needs some character development to use in those matches so maybe everyone else will know how Korgath should read as well. And Korgath, no offense man, but how can you be mad that the Royal Order didn’t win when you didn’t even help him write some of it? I don’t know you’re situation, so I can’t really say anything, but come on. Two writers are what makes tag matches so fun to write. You can bounce so many ideas back and forth! Anyway, shoot me for my comments if you want. I just wanted to try and be informative is all.

It could also come from the fact that this was the fourth W&D match in a row... in four shows! I'd give it my opinon if you wanted, but you might not want any from me since I was your opponent. If you do, I'd be happy to give it a review.

    Meltzer on Batista

I know this isn't entirely about Batista, but I do think he'll win the title at NYR. Why else would they 'strip' HHH of the title? For him to just win it back again would be dumb as hell as their would be no point to strip him of the belt in the first place. My only thought is that this was the only way they could possibly get the belt on Batista right now and have it make sense. HHH/Batista couldn't happen in a straight up match as that'd ruin the big 'wait' to finally see Dave whoop up on HHH. That and maybe HHH refused to lay down for Batista so they did it this way so he wouldn't have to.

Another cool promo to keep the tradition of 'Breaking kayfabe' alive. Not only did you mention Wild & Dangerous, but it was a cool look back at some of the superstars who left far too early.

Honestly, I think the team who wins will be the team with the least amount of penalties/mistakes. I don't see a blowout, and it could easily go either way if one team gives up a bunch of yardage with penalties.

They could always load the football for that last field goal kick. Have it explode when the kicker kicks it! "Where the hell did the ball go!?"

    The Sugar Bowl Thread

Not to mention that Auburn almost lost their ass. Auburn didn't win the game, VT lost it for themselves by: A - missing a field gold five feet away from the kickers face. B - Throwing a pass to the endzone to a wide open guy that was thrown about ten feet over the receivers head. C - Stupidly fumbling the ball on that fake field goal attempt. Auburn has no case for a split title - Just because they are undefeated doesn't guarentee you that spot anymore. Besides, after tomorrow night there will be 3 undefeated's and you either split it 3 ways or give it all to one.

    Home for the Holidays

SWF Practice Facility, Lake Forrest, Illinois Wildchild was hunched over, his hands resting on his knees while Johnny Dangerous leaned back into the ropes, breathing heavily, as they watched several assistants carefully carry Les Miles - a local junior heavyweight – out of the ring. Les had volunteered a partner and himself to take on Wild and Dangerous, and like quite a few others in front of him, met his fate at the hands of the SWF’s tag team specialists. Somehow I got the feeling as I watched all of this unfold from the safety of ringside that he wouldn’t be the last either - Wild and Dangerous didn’t look like they were ever going to slow down! By now I’m sure everyone is aware of what went down at SWF Slay Ride – our Christmas pay per view: Landon Maddix finally defeated Toxxic for the SWF World Heavyweight Championship, Sean Davis won the SWF United States Junior League Championship, Todd Cortez came out with the SWF Hardcore Gamers Championship, and our “men in black” – Wild and Dangerous – well… they won a chance to face Revolution Zero for the Tag Team Championship. By the looks of things, they’re not about to let that chance slip away from them either; they caught the first flight out of Minnesota and came straight here to begin training. No celebrations, no partaking in the holiday festivities – it was time to start worrying about their next match, and more importantly - Revolution Zero. Everyday, even Christmas, started at 6 A.M. with a morning jog around Lake Forrest with the cold winds biting at their faces. A rigorous two-hour weight training session followed that, and then they finally sat down for breakfast. Afterwards they would go their separate ways until lunch; Johnny focusing on his martial arts training while Wildchild stretched his body into positions that would make a pretzel hurt, before focusing on his gymnastic routines. It’s kind of funny when you think about it, watching these two and their distinct contrast of styles, they’re as different as night and day, and yet they gelled so well in the ring when they put these two styles together. After a light lunch, they would study tape of Toxxic and Sean Davis, both singles and tag team matches. They never had audio running on the tape, but it wouldn’t have mattered, because they’d spend the entire time discussing what they were seeing with each other. Being in the same room with them while they were studying tape of their opponents kind of gave watching the action an “MST3K” feel to it. Every so often, one or the other of them would interrupt the idle chatter to point out either a flaw in their opponents’ style, which they felt they could exploit, or to call attention to one of their opponents’ particular strengths, and what they’d have to do to avoid it. After studying tape, it was into the ring, where they’d put some of the local enhancement talent through the wringer for hours on end; they’d wrestle from the time they came out of that conference room until security would throw them out at eleven each night. During these marathon training sessions, they’d spend hours perfecting their timing on double-teams and blind tags. They even went out of their way to find enhancement talent that were close enough to Toxxic and Sean Davis’ respective body weights for them to ensure that their timing would be precise. Watching all of this training first hand, it was clear to me that these two weren’t taking their next opponents lightly. You would think that, as the longest-tenured tag team in the SWF today, as a team that held the World Tag Team Titles on two separate occasions, and as a team that has only lost two one-on-one tag matches in the two-plus years they’ve been teaming together, that they might be a little overconfident heading into this match… but, it’s just the opposite. They recognize the fact that Revolution Zero has dominated the SWF since the group’s inception, not to mention Toxxic becoming the longest running and most stable Heavyweight Champion of 2004! Far from taking their opponents lightly, as far as Wild and Dangerous are concerned, Toxxic and Sean Davis might as well be Justice and Rule, Hollywood Boulevard and the Unholy Trinity all rolled into one! The challengers may be hungrier than they’ve ever been; they’re totally locked in on the task of dethroning the champions! What were Johnny Dangerous and Wildchild saying in regards to this upcoming match? Well, leave it to me to ask all the tough questions that nobody else will. It’s what I live for, and it’s the reason I took on this assignment. “Is this going to be revenge against Toxxic?” I asked quite boldly of the Barracuda, who looked back at me stone-faced. It almost appeared if Johnny had harbored some resentment towards the Straight-Edged Sensation. I couldn’t say I blame him, Toxxic did defeat the Barracuda in the main event of the largest stage of them all – Genesis V – for the World Heavyweight Championship, and we have yet to see these two step foot in a ring against each other since then. Could this be the opportunity for Johnny, on a personal level, to even the score against the Rookie that left the entire federation standing on its head in 2004? “This isn’t about me,” Johnny calmly replied. “The Tag Team titles are all about Wild and Dangerous, and it’s what we, as a team, strive towards in everything we do. We don’t have time for any personal vendettas; it’s all about the team!” “Right now, Toxxic and (Sean) Davis are the Tag Team Champions,” Wildchild added, his thick Creole accent ever present. “Those belts mean that they’re the best tag team in the world; that’s what we want. We’re training harder than we’ve ever trained before because, as far as we’re concerned, this is going to be the toughest match we’ve ever had. We can’t very well be the best when Revolution Zero is walking around with those belts, and that’s why we’re spending so much time getting ready – we don’t want to take any chances; we want to make sure that we leave with those titles, and not them!” “Wildchild, a lot of fans haven’t been able to help but notice that you’ve become a little more reckless since your return to the SWF; would you care to comment on what the impetus behind this change has been?” Wildchild turned towards me, but just as he opened his mouth to answer, Johnny chimed in. “It’s not just Wildchild,” he said. “We’ve both decided to be more aggressive since coming back to the SWF because we know that it’s going to take an extra-aggressive attitude to regain the Tag Team Titles… I guess you could say that we decided that it was time for Wild and Dangerous to actually live up to our name!” With that, they turned their attention back to their training, and sent some poor schmuck flying through the air, and into a Silver Bullet! The Barracuda and the Bahama Bomber, Wild and Dangerous – the pair that truly live up to their name – are ready to make their comeback complete, poised to take the Tag Team Championship for a record-breaking third time. Will they do it? I don’t know; anything could happen in the world of professional wrestling, but one thing’s for sure – I want front row tickets to this baby; it’s sure to be a doozy! Have a happy New Year fans, and get ready - 2005 is shaping up to be the best year in the SWF yet! - Ben Hardy

Hot damn, you know how many people are going to be accompanying you guys to the ring now? Anyway, I liked it, setting up a potential feud between Cross and Davis, and over a woman always works. Plus we get some charater work on Davis, not that you haven't before - I've just been out of the loop for a bit if you did. I liked it, lets see some more!
