  1. That's funny. I went to take a nap and we were finally talking about Jericho/Trish. I wake up and we're back to our old argument.
  2. Actually now that I think of it. It's too fun to make up new spellings of Heidenreich's name for him to change it.
  3. Jericho doesn't genuinely care about it. He just sees it as another means to mess with Austin. Perhaps that's where they're going with it. Jericho won't abuse Trish, but he will use her and she'll realize it sooner or later.
  4. I think the major trend in recent wrestling years is to be going by your real name or as close to it as possible. Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Christopher Nowinski, Maven, Nidia, Rico...all close to real name. Same for Kendrick. Maybe that's just me though. I think Spanky is a better name for him because it fits his gimmick. The real name thing is fine if you have a real name that sounds cool, but that John Heidengoseek needs a better name.
  5. could be, but that would be disappointing. jericho should use this get into the me again. as i said before if he played trish or trapped her in an abusive relationship, he would gain piles of heat from male and female viewers alike. im not talking about one fued here, im talking about jerichos character as a whole. But they already have several feuds revolving around this already! Test is abusive to Stacy, Steiner was nice to Stacy, then when he had her, he became abusive. Austin beats Stacy because she won't drink beer with him (!). If Jericho jumps on the woman beating bandwagon, people will start to not care. And if all we have on RAW are these woman abusing angles, people will walk away or will tune in casually, see what's going on, and add more fuel to the fire that "wrestling is for rednecks." Jericho needs to do something to make him stand out from the rest of the guys on RAW. no one cares about test. do you? i dont. i will remember what austin did to stacy, as well as steiner. speaking of steiner, he would work well with victoria as his main freak. She'd come across as too much of a Midajah clone in that role. What happened to Midajah anyway?
  6. You're thinking of Torrie. However, Trish has been somewhat of a mixed-tag team whore. Trish has been with: Test, Albert, Vince, Jeff Hardy, and now Jericho.
  7. Jericho already did the beating up women thing. He did it to Stacy and it didn't exactly catapult him to the Main Event then. Yeah there wasn't a relationship there, but how many people are going to really get into a Jericho/Trish relationship? Trish has been with half the male roster!!
  8. Basically the Jericho/Trish thing is just part of Jericho's plan to foil Austin. They wouldn't drop the Austin storyline to start some thing with Jericho and Trish and Jericho beating up Trish would go against the Austin storyline so that's not going to happen. Jericho is trying to win over wrestlers to his cause and he sees the opportunity with the women because of what Austin did to Stacy.
  9. hahaha. kid? show me some of your damn good writing and maybe ill show you mine. when it comes to writing character specfic promos, you probably stand a snowballs chance in hell. and your right, i dont have formal experiance. im just a creative guy that know the bussiness and can contribute worthy ideas. if your ideas were good, maybe they would take the internet fans more seriously. but i dont blame them because your head is up your ass. You want to see what people on this board are capable of? Check out the SWF and the OAOAST sometime. They'd probably put you to shame.
  10. i hope he plays her or gets her into an abusive relationship. jericho would end up in the me again, because he would have so much heat on top of what he has now that they would have no choice. You want Jericho to be in the Main Event because he's a woman beater??? First off that would make absolutely zero sense and would just confuse the fans to the point where they probably wouldn't care. So they probably wouldn't put that much heat on Jericho. Jericho is doing all this to show that he's right and Austin is wrong. If Jericho were to turn and beat up Trish it would confuse things so badly that the fans would just become apathetic to the whole thing.
  11. Except for the fact that what WCW was doing....made sense and actually still followed the patterns we're talking about. Like I said above we're not calling for a return of old school we're just asking for some good writing!!
  12. The problem is WWE hasn't been doing it right. Even shock tv needs to have a method behind its madness. It still needs good storylines and something that people can relate to. That is what we're talking about. We're not calling for a revival of "old school" we're calling for a revival of "common sense" and good writing!
  13. whatever you say man.... maybe some people have found better things to do. the only way your kind of fueds work is with the presantation of kayfabe. its out the window. the product has no choice but to evolve. what i dont understand is why you still watch despite disliking the product. is your life really that pathetic and empty? No I don't think it needs Kayfabe. It didn't in 2000 and yet that was one of WWF's best years. It was also a lot tamer than '98-'99 as far as the adult nature. People aren't stupid. They know it's all a show, but just like they want their favorite TV shows to be written well they also want wrestling to be.
  14. I'd be more pressed to say that Austin/McMahon and DX helped win the ratings war. Sure DX was shock tv, but it was shock tv done well. "Choppy choppy your pee pee" didn't win the Monday night wars and neither did "oh god you have a penis!" Now...shock tv has ran its course and no one seems to care anymore, which is evident in the ratings and general apathy of the casual fans.
  15. I may not know the business, but I know from watching that every successful storyline and feud was built off something simple and down to earth. Shock TV is only good for temporary spikes in the ratings. When it all boils down to it the only way WWE will fix things is to go back to the basics and to seriously push people. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out.
  16. I'd like to see them atleast give it a serious try before they make that decision. And by serious I mean good build up, good storyline, and both parties looking equally strong.
  17. I'm done. I'm not going to argue with this guy. We've provided proof and examples to back our claims. He's just spouting off WWE talk that hasn't produced results in a long time.
  18. I'll say it again. It's damn sad that WWE has no problems taking chances by doing necrophilia storylines, but they won't even take chances by SERIOUSLY pushing someone who is actually over with the crowd.
  19. How would they know? THEY'VE NEVER TRIED PUTTING HIM AS A MAJOR FOCUS!!!! Maybe if they TRIED it, it COULD be successful. Not saying it WOULD, but we'll never know until someone takes a risk! they did, when he debuted and headlined against the rock. something from that fued made vince lose faith in him. and by now, his character is not credible enough to make a major impact. i suppose it could be done but they would really have to push him hard and out of no where. and he would need a mouthpiece. They threw Benoit out there with little build up and little backstory and everyone knew he wasn't going to win. That's not trying that's just half-assing it. During Benoit's run with Angle earlier this year they could have had Benoit win the title from him and atleast given it a try. He had a great build up with Angle. The matches had good heat. He got a freakin standing O from the match so what do you think would happen if his run with Angle had ended with him winning the title from him?
  20. And they're certainly doing a good job of that. Because you know ratings are so much better than they were in 98-00. one reason ratings were so great then is the talent. with austin and rock being used properly, they had some of the best entertainers of the century on the same show. there is no possible way that cant draw. Nowadays though have just as good talent... Chris Jericho Kurt Angle Undertaker Steve Austin Christian Rob Van Dam Edge Scott Steiner Those are just some of the names that could be more entertaining if given something like an angle based on hatred or jealousy all os these guys you mention are good, but they are not the total package like rock or austin is. out of the three most important things that makes a wrestler, none of these guys has more than two. those being charisma(in ring), mic work, and working consistantly good matches. angle and jericho are the only ones who are close, but not quite as good total package wise. All the more reason for WWE to be building new stars, but they aren't doing a very good job of that either. The deal with Rock, Austin, and all those guys is they were at one point directionless and in Rock's case at one point charismaless. Both Rock and Austin built their legacy with great feuds and good storylines. Rock had the Nation and his drastic heel change and Austin had his drastic character change, KOTR, and his feud with Bret. The players are there...WWE just has to develop something good for them and that doesn't include the storylines they're putting out nowdays. nope. its like hhh said. get yourself over with the crowd so management has no choice but to push you. how do you think austin got away from the ringmaster gimic? he had to be over before vince would place faith in him to get a good push. i dont think they have enough faith in any one competitor(exceot maybe hhh) to really push them to the moon. i fear it may be to late and the next new champ will be orton. i cant say i like this though. Ummm.......RVD. He's been over with the crowd for a freakin long time and still hasn't been pushed. What HHH said is bullshit. Wrestlers can get themselves over to a point, but without backing and a good storyline they won't go anywhere. Last time I checked even when Austin changed to Stone Cold he wasn't automatically over. It wasn't until the WWF put together some good storylines for him that he started to really get over.
  21. It personally pisses me off that WWE has no qualms in taking chances on things like Katie Vick, but they have no balls to take chances on their own wrestlers.
  22. How would they know? THEY'VE NEVER TRIED PUTTING HIM AS A MAJOR FOCUS!!!! Maybe if they TRIED it, it COULD be successful. Not saying it WOULD, but we'll never know until someone takes a risk! Really. That's the story with most stars in WWE. I keep hearing people say "they can't draw" like it's been tried before and they had proof to back those claims. They don't have proof because it hasn't been tried. What does WWE have to lose in trying?? They've done far worse stuff!!
  23. And they're certainly doing a good job of that. Because you know ratings are so much better than they were in 98-00. one reason ratings were so great then is the talent. with austin and rock being used properly, they had some of the best entertainers of the century on the same show. there is no possible way that cant draw. 24. And they're certainly doing a good job of that. Because you know ratings are so much better than they were in 98-00. one reason ratings were so great then is the talent. with austin and rock being used properly, they had some of the best entertainers of the century on the same show. there is no possible way that cant draw. Then there is no excuse for WWE to be so bad right now because they have one of their best rosters ever.
  25. yeah but none of these backstories get people talking. good for us, bad for business. How is it bad for business? The Bret/Austin feud is one of the things that really heightened the popularity of Austin. People loved the Rock/Austin feud as well as the HHH/Rock feud. Find me a successful storyline that didn't have all the aspects that we have been mentioning. Then find me a successful storyline written the way you're talking about. The minute Vince started hiring writers who don't know about wrestling is when he lost sight of what really made all the successful storylines successful...they were based on wrestling and heightened by the drama and the characters involved. Austin/McMahon would have been nothing if it wasn't based on Vince not wanting Austin to be champ. If it were Vince not wanting Austin to get a woman or a shampoo commercial then it would have never worked. Vince has said so himself that sometimes he feels he's out of touch with today's viewers and his answer to that was to bring in soap opera-like writers and it hasn't helped. In fact it's probably driven away more viewers than it's brought in.
