  1. well your entitled to your opinion. the only thing you probably do care about is 4* + matches and if thats the case im not surprised. puro in america is dead. Yet the crap you are promoting doesn't draw ratings worth shit. Yeah that makes sense. And what's that? Puro in America? There never has been Puro in America. What you just said makes no sense. how would you know what draws ratings? you seem to like storys that well, you would like. there are millions of viewers, and they dont represent the smark subculture. What!? I know this crap doesn't draw ratings! Because it's not! So actually I would know more about what draws ratings than you since you're trying to actually write this shit and get it on air. And it doesn't draw ratings now...so why would it when you're writing the same damn thing? Oh that's right...it wouldn't. and what makes you so sure that if vince abandoned his current direction and changed to something more suited to you that the ratings would rise? the reason they have shows and fueds like this is to compete with sitcoms and such. having simple fueds centered around matches would lose viewers. no one cares enough about a fake match. you need to add suspense and entertainment value to it. And you're completely missing our point. You say the fans want drama...I agree. But what WWE is putting on right now isn't dramatic at all. It's stupid. Every example we have given of great feuds have been dramatic. So much more dramatic than what's being put on now. So don't try and tell us we're pushing for boring feuds with no drama because you're just not listening.
  2. no, it just has to be controversial but interesting. thats why katie vick didn;t do well. very controversial, but in bad taste. its usually the controversy that pulls people in and the interesting part that keeps them. the problem is storys as of late were not very interesting(i was liking the kane one, until shane showed up). jericho/trish is interesting. What was the last successful "controversial" storyline? Controversy is all over TV and people can get it on other shows...you know where they actually do it right and have a good story with it. Most casual fans I know aren't looking for controversy in wrestling either. They just don't want the stupid crap. Most casual fans I talk with remember the old stuff fondly and find today's stuff dumb.
  3. Basically WWE is stuck in a rut and RVD420 is talking about continuing to do the stuff that got them stuck in that rut. Downhome is right. Every casual fan that I know that doesn't watch anymore hates the stupid soap opera crap.
  4. That was the list of yesterday's top ten posters, It was part of my TSM Losers joke thread I made in NHB So Choken one had 329 posts yesterday???
  5. Face it. Controversy just doesn't get the job done anymore because no one believes that WWE can pull it off. The fans have been burned by lame "controversial" storylines too many times now.
  6. yeah right. you wont like it anyway. too CREATIVE. ovcoarse if you want something that you would enjoy i can write mindless, generic fued #4352 . WWE has plenty of "generic" feuds going on right now. I'm not talking about generic feuds. I'm talking about feuds in which they take a relatable theme and then add in the originality of the characters involved and their actions. It's the wrestlers and their characteristics that flesh out the feud. Feuds don't have to be over shampoo commercials. Give the fans something they can understand and relate to and then wow them with what the wrestlers do with that idea.
  7. yeah right. you wont like it anyway. too CREATIVE. ovcoarse if you want something that you would enjoy i can write mindless, generic fued #4352 . Try us. We'll see how "original" it is.
  8. yes but epic fueds require dedicated viewers. maybe we would watch it, but john doe with the remote will keep changing the channel is what he sees isn't provocotive and/or controversial. vince is right on this. i dont see why a whole bunch of people think they know the business better then the business himself, vince. i will agree that he has made dumb moves(invasion, nwo) but those were really due to politics and vince's own ego more than stupidity. If that's how they are trying to attract viewers then they will never keep those viewers who tune in. Some guy flips through the channel and sees something controversial. He watches for awhile...maybe even a few weeks before realizing it's stupid and quits watching. Basically the only people who are watching right now are the dedicated ones anyway. They aren't going to regain viewers overnight or by catching those who flip through the channels. It's going to have to be a noticable change to something that won't insult their intelligence and then it will spread by word of mouth. yes, word of mouth. when someone sees something controversial that they didn't expect to see on a wrestling show, they will bring it up in conversation more often than a recap of what someone would expect to hear. old school is dead. get over it. the only thing worth a crap back then were the matches anyway. (well except for mach man interviews) Word of mouth spreading stories of controversy is still gonna heed the same results of people tuning in to see it's still crap and tuning back out again. Controversy at most nowdays gets temporary boosts in ratings but that's about it. People have grown apathetic towards WWE's "controversy" Word of mouth needs to be spreading word of how good the storylines are and how things make sense and you can get into the stories for once.

So then if these angles now are so great....why isn't John Doe tuning in? You still haven't explained this to us...oh thats right................ your not thinking in the big picture.here. john doe has been tuning in. those numbers are average for the night. in fact, when kane started flipping out with all the over the top stuff that you frown on, ratings went up considerably. as far as katie vick goes, that was plain stupid. And you know what...they went right back down because those people who tuned in didn't stay. Like I said above most of the people who watch now are the dedicated ones anyway. Casual fans tune in sporadically when they hear something that sounds remotely interesting is happening and if it gets stupid they tune back out.

  11. Austin/McMahon last pretty damn long and it drew ratings. It was based on a pretty basic premise too. Corporate boss can't control the renegade fan favorite and sets out to stop him at all costs. Sure it got a little out of hand at points, but it never lost sight of it's basic premise. that was a revolutionary fued in wrestling. people could relate to it. thats what they try to do is to get people to relate. why do you think they are doing this jericho and trish thing. its a situation that we are all familiar with. typical smart ideas of a good story line are boring and not relatable. Like what? What ideas have we had that are boring and unrelatable? People relate with that which is most common and real. Necrophilia and people surviving flaming dumpsters is not relatable. Competition, hate, rivalry, jealousy, and greed are relatable and common. Take the basic ideas and build off them using the character traits of the people involved.
  12. How do we know that long feuds won't draw ratings nowdays? Who's even tried it lately? You can't tell if something will draw or not if you're not willing to try it!

  14. To further my post above let's look at some of the best feuds in wrestling: Bret/Owen: Younger brother is tired of living in the shadow and sets out to prove that he's better. Flair/Steamboat: Friendly competition that evolved into rivalry. The continuing question of who's the better man? Jericho/Malenko: One man thinks he's losing his touch and the other wants to dog him at every turn so that he gives into his fears of losing his touch and quits. I'm sure there are others, but those are just examples of amazing feuds based on such basic principles.
  15. yeah, too simple. because if you do that same stupid theme over and over, no one wants to see it anymore. try running with that idea for a whole year or more and see how much room you have to keep things fresh. you would reach a dead end in 2 years tops. All storylines should have a basic premise...it's the content that brings the originality. Build a storyline based on something simple like competition or rivalry and bring the originality in the little things that happen along the way. Storylines don't have to be outlandish soap opera stories because more often than not those don't work because the writers are trying too hard when it should be a simple premise. Nothing brings about better heat and emotion than basic hatred built on something believable.
  16. I wouldn't know where to start with WWE. Their storylines are so befuddled that it's almost impossible to fix without hitting the cosmic reset button.
  17. Seriously man...cut it out. I can't stop laughing at this shit. You remind me of a child. You assume absurd thing whenever someone disagrees with you. That is just funny. And like I said...I believe you. The storyline you presented here sucks shit. The WWE writing staff sucks shit. You're perfect for each other. ok, you can talk shit. but if your willing to back it up, then why dont you write 2 promos (word for word... character specific), and a couple of vingettes in the same format along with a general, drawn out storyline that would DRAW. lets see you do it, if you think your better. you wont get anywhere, dude. You first writer-man. Let's see your great work.
  18. My dream job wouldn't be kissing Vince's ass and never getting my ideas heard while sitting in a room full of idiots who can't even remember storylines they did the week before. WWE Writer is far from my dream job.
  19. we're supposed to be suspicious jack ass. i spoke with brian gerwitz briefley and he told me that. they wrote you there. What the??? That was out of left field.
  20. If he took on them they'd probably expose him big time as not being as good as he seems. Yeah his moves look like they hurt (except the move he did to Steph), but he still needs to work on stringing those moves together to tell a story. He still falls into the trap of most hosses today that is doing power moves just for the sake of looking cool to cover up major flaws. They hope that their moves will make the crowd go "whoa" enough that they don't notice that there's no method to the madness.
  21. I don't have time to read through this whole thread, but let me put it to you this way: A-Train looks good in comparison basically. Compared to the rest of the hosses he's alright, but that just means he's a less smelly part of the crap. The difference is that he's been adding moves to his moveset, but adding moves doesn't equal improvement really.
  22. Hey I applied for the RAW Recapping spot too. I'm beginning to wonder when Dames is gonna pick the new recapper already? He doesn't have to wait for the other positions to be applied for!! Good luck. Thanks. You too.
  23. Basically it's just a ploy in his fight against Austin and that's all it is.
  24. Hey I applied for the RAW Recapping spot too. I'm beginning to wonder when Dames is gonna pick the new recapper already? He doesn't have to wait for the other positions to be applied for!!
  25. I've found that doing a RAW Recap has basically forced me to see things in a different light. In order for me to properly rank each match I have to look at it on a whole and I've found that I'm being more objective because of it.
