I'm there, but I don't see alot of people being able to get there. I propose Saturday afternoon. Some of us (Al, Treble, Myself, MiB) have our fantasy league draft at 7:30 Saturday, but I guess we can try to knock out a few rounds of this beforehand. What about Fri/9:30? I'm sensing that might be a good concensus time.

Well, if we're being historical the St. Louis Browns played in Sportsmans Park. But, if I have the choice, I'd like Memorial Stadium, since the franchise lineage is the same anyway!

Do it on a weekend or something, try to find a time that suits at least 2/3 of the people for those who absolutely can't make it, have them send a list of picks (maybe 30 or 40) in order they'd draft that Flik could be in charge of...

I was asking myself the same thing, FM, about Cy Young, and waited patiently for someone to take him. I mean he's only the man the award for pitching excellence is named after...I was really hoping Sandy Koufax would slip by too, but oh well... Oh and Al, I'm def. up for an AIM chat with decent notice.

I don't know what that means, Czech. I'm not really a big Sosa fan and was actually pretty pissed when I found out the O's traded for him thinking it was a lame ploy to pad ticket sales and appease fans since they blew it with the prime free agent and trade targets (and I still believe that), but when I found out we just gave up Hairston and the Cubs were paying almost all his salary I came around and realised it was a smart, low risk deal. I'm an O's fan, Sosa was a big deal, and really our only deal all offseason, thus I like to feature him in my sig pics. The pic with Palmeiro I thought was funny and so posted it. I don't think I ever mention him otherwise. Just saying.

Recently competed with top veterans, who became injured/unerachieved and so the solution is to spend money on more aging players (Beltran exception) and trade away prospects for the hope of competing quickly again. It aint gonna happen. I almost expect half of this team to be on the DL for a good part of the season. Pedro is going to breakdown, I can feel it, Glavine has been largely a bust, Benson is a sub .500 pitcher being paid top money, and Traschsel and Zambrano are thouroughly average. I hope the Mets have some pitching depth. All negativity aside though, if the team can stay healthy and perform up to their capabilities, they do have a chance to be pretty good, but even so, in a stacked division like the NL East I can't see them any higher then 3rd place. Carlos Beltran is in for a long 7 years...

So they're risking Fedor on a B show before the big title fight....AND they're bringing in Gilbert "completely insane" Yvel too? EDIT: Not, in the same match obviously.

RVD is too cool to get mad, while Kash goes nuts if someone looks at him the wrong way. So they both use Ying/Yangs on their shirts, they're characters are like polar oppposites.

Awesome pick. Can you imagine if Koufax could have had a modern surgery and extended his career another 10 years? He might have been the greatest ever. Oh, and as soon as IK shows up Roy and Al disappear, leaving me again in limbo. Yey!

Hell, I have a low draft pick, and can be on at Midnight, so no complaints from me. I just have visions of 12 people all trying to post their picks at the same time (likely with half a dozen duplicates) while the board stalls, so it might be a little chaotic...

Not that I have anything to add, but I wish there was a que or something we could use so we didn't have to be around when it's our turn. We're waiting on IK, and Roy has PMed his 2 requested picks, and then Im next, I feel like if I go to sleep before IK posts I hold everyone up until tommorow afternoon. Wish there was some system where we could rank our players and automatically have our next pick come up, but I guess that's not really possible. This draft is going to take a LONG time to finish....
