    Can't wait for Wednesday...

Pittsburgh, Florida and Milwaukee in the NL and Kansas City, Toronto, Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Detroit in the AL are all easy picks. The Nats will have packed houses almost every night. I'm not saying it won't wear off after a year or 2 of losing, but there is genuine excitment and a rush to get season tickets around here....

    Fozzy

From what I've heard, the first album is a fun collection of (mostly) cover songs, that's just fun to listen to. It's Jericho and his friends blasting out some 80s classics in all their excess and glory. The second album is really excellent I think. They put on more original songs to go with the covers, polished their sound and wrote songs in the same "metal style" and they sound really good. I agree, To Kill A Stranger is an EXCELLENT song. With the Fire is good too. That's not to say anything about the awesome covers like Balls to the Wall or Where Eagles Dare. But on the 3rd album, its like they decided they wanted to be a "real" band and get MTV and pop radio play and totally compromised their sound and style. They went from a metal band to a radio rock/nu metal kind of band. I mean, all the "metal" structure that made the band so much fun was gone in order to accomodate the same homogenous radio friendly rock style that sounds like every other nameless band WWE uses for their PPV themes! Which is a shame, because the album apparently bombed big time. I hope this doesn't mean they don't put out another album, but at least grounds Jericho, Ward, etc. to realise they had a niche sound and audience that they were suited for, but are mediocre as a regular pop band trying to get airtime. By your one post, and screen name, I can venture to guess you're affiliated with Fozzy in some way and trying to spread promotion for the record, so if you do know Jericho or any of the band, please pass along that critique.

Czech, as someone from the area, I can tell you, you will be wrong, at least for the first few years. The DC metropolitan area IS excited about having a baseball team they can call their "own", and they sold huge amounts of season ticket packages from the start of their sale. Merchandise is flying off the shelves too. They will not finish last in attendence at all. I agree though, once everyone realises how bad the team is, they'll either go back to the O's or just stop caring at all (with the exception of the Allmighty Holy Redskins who get 24/7 news covergae whenever the coach brushes his teeth, with the Wizards and Caps, the fans are really fair weather. When the team does well, the fans come out, if not, they stay home). Here's a nice little article from the Washington Post:

So, again, can someone clarify how this works? Is it just when it's the next person's turn, they post their pick, and then the next person can post their pick, etc.? Will there be any sort of a time limit or something?

The OAO 77th Annual Academy Awards Thread

Chris Rock in his monologue used Jude Law as a running joke about how movie makers need to have higher standards with starring roles, and Penn had a stick up his ass about it and was like "no matter what our host says, Jude Law is a great actor, a great actor" and held for applause. It was like, get a sense of humor dude...

    Your favorite Wrestlemania moment

HHH tapping to the crossface, greatest moment in WM history, and greatest match in WM history. The whole time he was in the crossface I was jumping up and down screaming at the scream "tap, tap" I knew it was coming but wasn't sure, and then when he tapped it was like such an amazing emotional release. Honorable mentions to Rock vs. Hogan, the whole damn match was nuts with the crowd reactions and to Steve Austin beating the Rock at WM17 after going nuts with the chair and the crowd going apeshit. Oh, and while it's not a "favorite" moment, Brock landing on his head on the shooting star was "memorable". I thought he was dead as soon as he hit. All recent Manias, because first live Mania I saw was 15, so while I've seen most of the older ones, you don't get that same memorable feeling as watching something live...

Ok, for those of us who didn't participate in the NBA league, do you mind clarifying how this draft will work?

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

Oh, and let me clarify, I didn't mean he's like Ric Flair in terms of persona (i.e. the larger then life, amazing promo cutting center of the universe charismatic guy), but I meant strictly in the ring, in the way that Flair could carry a broomstick to a *** match, AJ can do the same thing, wrestle a good match out of opponents as varied as Abyss, Jeff Jarrett and Petey Williams and unlike Flair, actually make them look like different matches each time.

London is over with the "smart" fans who remember his matches in ROH and TNA and actually watch Velocity. Most "mainstream" Smackdown fans as you would say, don't even know who he is...

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

Once again, your being selective in what you want to read. Im trying to make a general comment about how you pigeon hole people like WWE management does. "AJs too small and isn't good enough on the mic to be a mian eventer" well, so was Bret Hart. "He doesn't get "main event reactions". Well by that logic, neither does RVD, and I guess Steph and HHH were right...

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

If he's treated like Paul London is, of course they won't. If he was allowed to let loose a little like RVD, I think he would be very over. I think you're missing my point entirely. This has nothing to do with being a "TNA sheep". AJ was equally awesome in all his ROH matches, stole the shows at those retchid WWA PPVs and also showed lots of talent in his brief appearences at the end of WCW. This is about AJ Styles talents who I believe is the most consistent, well rounded and exciting wrestler today.

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

Sheesh, good to see a member of WWE management posts here...you could say the same things about Bret Hart who also wasn't exactly Mr. excitement on the mic and was small and not a "typical" main eventer. I don't see where you get Styles is not over, either, as he consistenly gets the biggest reactions in TNA (and did in ROH) and people pretty much buy the PPVs to watch his matches. I guess under your same "criteria" RVD doesn't deserve a main event push either, afterall....

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

Just the way how in every organization, with every different type of opponent, in every style of match the guy goes out there and has show stealing matches. I don't think I've ever seen a BAD AJ Styles match....

    Matt and Lita

Could someone copy and paste the "Dave Meltzer" post here? All the joke posts in fact since I don't feel like festering through that board, and they tend to dispapear pretty quickly too.

    TNA Against All Odds predictions

I don't disagree Benoit is better overall and had the better career, but I think AJ Styles might be the most consistent, spectacular, well rounded wrestler today. Dare I say he's the modern Ric Flair with a better moveset.

Top 5 Lineups In the AL

Little late chiming in, but I just wanted to say that Baltimore's snub from ESPN's top 5 is ridiculous. I'll give them New York and Boston, but the Orioles are at least equal with Anaheim and certainly better then Texas and CLEVELAND. I mean, where'd that come from?! I pretty much agree with Al, and would go: 1. New York 2. Boston 3. Baltimore 4. Anaheim 5. Seattle AL East is full of offense...

That post was hilarious! We know its not real, and that's not really Bob Holly, though, because he certainly would have beat the shit out of someone and bragged about it...

Top 5 lineups in the NL

Gregg Myers was the Orioles THIRD string catcher 3 seasons ago behind Brook Fordyce and Geronimo Gil. I know he's had a decent bounceback since, but Lo Duca is all star caliber. There's no comparison.
