OK, bumping this, because I just received some very exciting news. I've been a Metallica Club member for several years now because I'm a big fan and I've gotten some cool stuff but in my email box arrived this today: WHOA, I did not expect to ever win one, but here it is. So, I will be going backstage before the show to meet the band and get a couple things autographed. I guess I'm basically bragging but I'm seriously excited about this.

So...is Gallup still biased?

Great debate. The format was a lot more comfortable, and Bush especially seemed to be feeling it a lot more. It's another close one, but I give the edge to Bush who was agressive, assetive and decisive in his answers which is exactly what he needs to be. Kerry did well, but he had some of the same problems as Bush had in the first debate with the stumbling and indecisevness especially towards the end. Biggest suprise was I think Bush won the part on Domestic issues. Bush did a tremendous job dodging loaded questions like the Patriot Act, Supreme Court Nominations and His Biggest Mistakes by spinning them to his strengths, Kerry took his tough questions like on Abortion, Stem Cells, etc. and didn't seem to know how to answet them because its like he didn't want to offend anybody. The fact that Bush is not afraid to stick to his guns, and take a stand while Kerry tries to please everyone is going to help Bush I think...

As I said, I vote in Maryland too, Dr. Tom. It's def. an uphill battle, but there's hope Bush could ride somewhat on Gov. Ehrlich's coattails, but its up to all of us, especially the "swing" voters to come out strong for Bush to have any chance. Nader is on the ballot too, so who knows maybe he'll leech some of Kerry's support away. To each his own, but I can't bring myself to throw my vote away, especially on a 3rd party nut like Banderik. What district are you in? Im in the 8th, and I REALLY like what I've read from candidate Chuck Floyd www.floydforcongress.com and I absolutely despise Chris Van Hollen who is about as worthless and hallow as a politician can get. They redistricted us before the last election to get 8 term Republican Connie Morella voted out by adding part of a heavily black county to our district (not that Morella was any conservative, she was quite liberal but at least popular and got things done). Now I don't know if there's much hope. The Senate race is going to be a slaughter which is really a shame. Barbra Mikulski is an ancient, useless, ultra liberal, who will probably die before she steps down. EJ Pipkin seems like a really weak paper candidate all around, but God bless him he has my vote... www.pipkinforsenate.com -
See, who says no one ever dies as a result of smoking pot?

You don't honestly expect me to go back and read everything between my last post from last night and first from this morning, do you? It's on the same page!

General, far be it for me to tell you how to vote, but I find your stance curious. What state are you voting in? Is it a foregone conclusion who will win or is it close? See, because I too share your opinions of Bush. I respect the man, and support his foreign policy and economic agendas. I'm not religious at all, so Im not into most of his conservative social policies, and Ashcroft can definitely go tommorow for all I care, but is that really enough not to earn your vote? I mean, its almost impossible to match up with a candidate perfectly on every issue. If our security, the war on terror, tax cuts, healthcare, etc. are the most important issues we face, which they are, and wouldn't they trump relatively minor social issues, that really don't amount to much except rhetoric? As for Ashcroft, every administration is going to have at least one nutjob in it. Just ignore him like that crazy uncle everyone has. I am voting in Maryland, pretty much a forgone conclusion state for Kerry, but I will give my vote to Bush anyway, because you never know what way momentum could shift. And do you really want to vote for that nut Bandarik? Here are actual reasons he gives on his website to vote for him instead of Bush: I just don't understand the 3rd party mentality unless you TRULY hate both candidates and are in a one sided state. Otherwise, you might as well vote for the candidate with a chance of winning that you agree with the most. -
The beauracracy could always be made smaller and more efficient. I'd rather have people in their positions because of skill and merit rather than tenure. And I too have to chime in and give mad props (is that how the kids say it?) to Loss for his posts in this thread. He has earned my respect big time, and has shown himself to be more progressive, intelligent, forgiving and tolerant than most mainstream "liberals" can ever claim to be.

Congrats, you've won a flame warrior designation: http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame59.html

I saw directions for the alien spacecraft when I read it...but it may have just been the peyote I'm beginning to like you more and more. Yeah, snuffbox might be this year's nominee for "CE's reformed formally insane poster". He's competing heavily with Loss. Keep it up, duder!

You're too late, hippy. I already posted that corresponding image. You're treading water: http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame29.html

As someone from Maryland, who isn't from Baltimore, and therefore says "DC" when asked where he's from, I truly know where you're coming from.

Google searching images is hard business. Take what you can get.

So, C-Bacon is the originator of 2 of the 5 worst threads ever? That warrants a prize or something, doesn't it? -=Mike It sure does, C-Bacon is the proud recipient of the... commemorated by the Kamui memorial trophy, represented as such: Since we all become very confused readers when he posts.

It takes talent to hit a pun that bad. -=Mike ...I had to represent --- or something... Mike is now upgraded to: http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame77.html

What exactly IS your point here? That the US government is made up of a secret neocon cabal with plans to take over the world through some shadow organization?
-
That gave us endless fun though. This is just...horrible. This thread has made me want to shun bacon forever.... I guess it's the Kosher plan for me!

Yeah, this def. get's my nomination for "Worst CE Thread Ever". I think even if INXS would stop by he'd say "man, this is a bad thread."

Question: Why is everyone still up? ....why am I still up?

Thanks, snuffy. I heareby proclaim you: http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame19.html Good luck, duder!

I don't know, it's really late, and I was trying to match everyone up, but probably did a piss poor job. I didn't read it through I guess, I was thinking you're pretty non partisan and don't really get into flame wars...

The right has Fox News, which has the highest ratings for god knows what reason, so it all evens out. There, I saved everyone time.
