I lost track after Cole and Beckham both went to right wing at different points and Hargreaves started playing centre back.

I'm not saying Punk's a bad wrestler, far from it. But if everyone's expecting him to completely blow them away with his in-ring ability, they're in for some disappointment. I like Punk a lot, don't get me wrong. He's just not the kind you can watch any one match of his and say 'wow, he's awesome'. Especially not in 5 minute matches.

SWF Smarkdown Card for September 12, 2005!
King Cucaracha replied to Ace309's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
That's what I'm for, silly! I being Maddix, rather than I being KC. If you and Jay for that matter ever want to do a group promo then go right on ahead. -
Madness. I was shocked when someone I read in the paper that Steven Gerrard started. Because I certainly didn't see any of him. Joe Cole needs to realise he isn't Cristiano Ronaldo and him doing stepovers and shoulder fakes for 20 seconds when people are screaming for a cross isn't cute and isn't clever. Playing Rooney on the left is madness. Making Lampard defend on the edge of his area...ditto. Owen Hargreaves!?! Fuck that. I can understand why Sven was convinced 4-5-1/4-3-3 could work. After all, it works great for Man United and Chelsea. If he had half a brain though, he'd realise tactics only work with the right players. For 4-5-1, you need two attacking wingers, somebody in the middle who can create and/or attack, at least one in the middle who can play the holding role and a striker who can win a header. It works for Man U and Chelsea because they have Van Nistelrooy and Drogba. Not to mention Giggs/Ronaldo/Park/Richardson and Duff/Robben/Wright Phillips.

Best Austin/Rock Wrestlemania Match?
King Cucaracha replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
WM 15 wasn't even as good as Backlash the month after. WM 19 was a good spectacle and Rock played a great heel, but Austin was so beat up it was never going to be a clasic match, -

88. J&R's Ping-Pong Challenge. -
Okay, now I'm completely confused. Zack, looks like you're taking the rest because I sure don't know where to start.
-
No way is Joe 6'8". Joe always finishes off with the Kokina/Rear Naked Choke. Basically, he's amassing a list of victims...unoffically, but it's putting the move over. He could end it with the Muscle Buster, yes. But it makes sense for him to end with a submission as the 'Samoan Submission Machine'.
-
That's cool. When you invent something you tend to be anal over stuff, especially when you suck at it and everyone forgets you invented it.

England vs. Northern Ireland, and it's the return of ROONRAGE~!
-
1. GoalKEEPING. We only call it goaltending when we're doing send-ups of U.S commentators, who having watching MLB amuse me greatly. 2. Fulham are good in that they're in the top division in England, but crap in that they're one of the worst teams in that division. 3. When did America getgood enough to be Top 6 in the world!?! England toured there earlier in the year and the pitches in America were terrible. Maybe that's why.
-
Beating Mexico is pretty impressive. They're a decent team and I think they beat Brazil in not so recent past.
-
Indeed. Bo should give it a shot and see how it goes. I'd recommend at least that to anyone, because the worst that happens is you don't dig it and leave again. Also, as a Spaniard, Landon Maddix is semi-lucha. I actually tried to draw a little of the character from ELM when I joined up (ie, I stole the idea of a Spanish influenced luchadore style wrestler with a foriegn sounding nickname).
-
I, uh, think d'ere were many, uuuh, positives we can take, uh, from this, uh, 2-0 defeat to the Northern Ireland, uh. For example, uh, the woman sat behind me, uh, had a very nice, uh, as you say, 'rack' on her. Also, uh, David Beckham, uh, has a very nice, haircut? Yah?

A couple of new reccomendations, methinks. CHIKARA Tag World Grand Prix, Nights 1, 2 and 3 It's hard to say which is better. To be honest, they're not mind-blowingly fantastic shows, but it's easily the best introduction to CHIKARA. Night 1 has ROH Dodgeball, Darkness Crabtree, Ebessan, Super Dragon and B-Boy bumping for Mokogen Ken. Oh, and a very good Dragon/B-Boy vs. Ebessan/Billy Ken Kid match. Night 2 has THE BEAR~!, Anthony Franco and Matt Turner getting absolutely destroyed by Necro Butcher and Mad Man Pondo, El Generico, Larry Sweeney. And probably, more good matches than Night 1, including Hero/Quack vs. Eddie Kingston/Mickie Knuckles. And Night 3 tops it off with some pretty good matches, some mad multi-man/animal matches and Claudio/Cannon vs. Hero/Quack with the awesome turn angle at the end. CHIKARA Young Lions Cup 3, Night 3 Night 1 isn't too hot and Night 2 is good, but not as good as Night 3. A great atmosphere and a great show to go with it. Aside from the Six Person Tag which is only really worth it for Crossbones kicking Mickie Knuckles square in the face and only a passable Larry Sweeney/Vries Kastelein match (although, you get Sweeney on the mic, which makes up for it), it's all good. The top three matches in particular. The Cheech/Cloudy vs. Franco/Turner Streetfight is fantastic. You get the return of Eddie Kingston to the ring in a typically very good 8 Man Tag. And then Icarus and Shane Storm with probably the hottest crowd in CHIKARA history. IWA:MS No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2005 Worth it just for CM Punk vs. Delirious, which is the greatest thing in wrestling history. Wargames is a little disappointing. Abercrombie/Marek/Tyler is fantastic. Sydal/Jacobs is exciting. Kingston/Hero/Tank is surprisingly good. Plus there's some cool footage of Team Fannin in a limo on the way to the show and then there's a cool pre-show beatdown on Brandon Thomaselli when they arrive. Kingston is awesome. The rest of the show is decent enough.

I'm surprised they're letting him use the Implant DDT to be honest. If Piledrivers and Shooting Stars are 'too dangerous', you'd have thought that would have been too.
-
I didn't say bitter at you. I'm a little bitter because I thought there was more me and Zack could have done with them. But, as you said, there was no real division and we were getting sick of writing against W&D. Maybe it didn't help that you got the belts and went into your own little break-up/tension thing with Johnny, basically doing the kind of thing we would have done.
-
I only wrote a 'match' (if you can call it that) because everyone got on my case about it and even then, I wrote us to lose. Not to say me and Zack would have won had we tried to write a winning match, but we didn't.
-
Yeah, but if W&D retain, would THEY defend at Genesis? Kinda hypocritical, considering it's 95% they wouldn't have had Johnny not done the J.O.B to the D.D.W. But then again, I'm just bitter because I jobbed the belts to you guys and then nobody booked you with them. Oh well, ce la vie.
