Yeah, I remember it was on one of the CHV releases...can't remember what one though. EDIT: Apparently it was Invasion Of The Bodyslammers, from about '93.

    Check out this botch video.

I'm no Goldberg hater, but I couldn't help laughing at him knocking himself stupid against Kronik. Kronik looking at each other like 'WTF do we do now?' was great.

    -SWF TITLE HISTORIES- Feb 19th-

Well, to quote The Simpsons, "It Was Like That When I Got Here." Plus, if you or WC won the belts with someone else, it'd be easier to realise you were a 4 time champ.

    A sickening feeling...

You know, in all seriousness, I bet The Game was behind it. Think about it. HHH knew JBL was coming. HHH went to deal with it with Batista. And HHH just happened to be quick enough to save Batista. Now, thinking about it, this could all lead to Mania. HHH keeps pushing Batista to go to Smackdown to avenge nearly being run over. REALLY pushing, you know. Anyway, it somehow turns out HHH was behind it all. "And you never saw it coming!" Sorry, flashback. So, it was all Hunter's idea. Flair was in on it too, so maybe have Batista get it from Flair. So Batista realises HHH has been plotting to convince him to go to SD! all along, to preserve his title (which is where they're going anyway). HHH then turns all heelish, saying that he saved Batista's life and that he OWES him for that, so he should go to Smackdown. B goes nuts, Evolution beatdown, go into Mania. And then they have the 'who was driving the limo' angle to run with post-Mania. And THEN, it can be revealed Orton was driving the limo and that he's rejoined Evolution. Oh, and the reason for that could be loss of memory after he gets a really bad concussion. I mean, 6 years is plenty of time to forget about Steph having the same injury. You know, that made WAY too much sense.

    SWF Lockdown Card 2-23-05

While I think of it, it's cool to see JHawk joining up with the fed. Maybe he'll plug us in his GREAT recaps. Oh, and hopefully this'll be the match to get me back on form. I've not been 'into' writing enough since the 'Fuck, I'll be the first to admit. But I'm looking forward to this.

The 5-3-2 formation that's on the list seems to work (at least with Palace) against the big teams. I used a lot before I bought Joaquin, who gets like 8s and 9s nearly every game and can only play RW.

JBL Cena Taker Bashams Chavo Heidenreich The only thing that interests me about the Cruiser Match is how London's going to try and cheat death this month in another futile attempt to get noticed. That and how long it'll take for the Divas to interrupt again.

  20. Date: February 15th 2005 Location: Martial Law's Coach Time: 12:01 am Despite it still being the early hours of a cold, dull Tuesday morning, the four members of Martial Law are all up and awake in the confines of their team bus. Not by choice, of course. At least, not for three of them. See, while Landon Maddix relaxes across the backseat of the bus, ICTV Championship cradled in his arm, his three cohorts don't seem quite so happy at the time. Still, they can't complain too much. "Today...is a day of celebration." Maddix begins formally, to a groan from Clark. "And, I intend to enjoy every second of it. For today...is not just my twenty-first birthday. But, co-incidently enough, tonight also marks the one HUNDRETH day of my latest and greatest Intercontinental Television Title reign." Shining up the belt, Maddix beams. "Oh yes. 100 days and still counting of the longest ever ICTV Title reign. And with no end in sight." "Ahem." "Oh...no offense Todd. Anyway, as I was saying, I'm still riding high. We're all riding high for that matter. And I'm happy to say that as I sit here, I'm looking down this coach and I'm looking at winners. We won the battle. When Toxxic and Sean Davis turned their backs on Spike Jenkins, the underlying fact is that without Martial Law that may not have happened. We put the pressure on. Week after week, we took Revolution Zero out of their comfort zone. We took their belts. Took their dominance. We gave Spike Jenkins reason to doubt Toxxic, where once there was none. WE...we caused the dissension between Sacred and Revolution Zero, Spike and Revolution Zero. We won the battle. But...the war is not over. A new battle awaits Martial Law." Sitting up, Maddix lays his ICTV Title to the side before slowly making eye contact with Clark..then Cortez..and finally Megan. "When Spike left, it seemed our job had been done. But we face a new challenge now. Martial Law must stay united. We cannot fall the way of Spike Jenkins. That means remaining a united force. Todd...you and I go one on one on Lockdown, with the ICTV Championship on the line. One on one. Martial Law, versus Martial Law. This can go one of two ways. We can do battle, friendly competition best man wins...and treat the match like any other. Or we can let this get personal and pay the price. I know what this ICTV Championship means Todd. I know better than ANYONE what this belt looks to the eye, feels like to hold and means in this business. So, I can understand you wanting to take it from me. But...we need to set the ground rules. And, at the risk of becoming a 'Toxxic clone' as he seems to consider me...that means asking you one simple question. Are you with us...or against us." "What?" Clark suddenly speaks up. "With us or against us. HE was the one who originated the whole Martial Law idea!" "Yeah..." "He was the one who came up with the Ghost idea!" "Yeah..." "And the only reason you're involved is because we needed three people and only had two." "...shoulda asked Bloodshed." Clark growls, but luckily The Urban Legend spots an arguement about to erupt and buts in. "I'm with us, obviously." "Good. So, whatever happens, you're with Martial Law? Win or lose...no hard feelings?" "Don't worry, I've no reason to 'do a Sacred' and leave. Like Alan says, this was my idea." "Good." Standing up, Maddix leans forward, over the seat in front of him, still looking down towards his team-mates. "In that case, we can concentrate on finishing off Revolution Zero once and for all. We've taken out two of their men. Sacred and Spike are gone. We know Davis and we know Toxxic. And, yeah, Toxxic finally got his victory over me last night. But I know that we've got all bases covered as far as Toxxic and Davis go. We know them. We can beat them. The danger we face now is the third man." "Pretzler." sneers Clark. "Exactly. He's the Revolution member holding the gold. He's the Revolution member one the hot streak, with the momentum...and the one who still has that element of mystery about him. Having never been in the ring with him, we don't know him as well as we do Toxxic or Davis. Which is why we need to target Pretzler." "Wouldn't it make more sense to go after Toxxic and Davis, seeing as we...you know, know them." Clark asks. "See, that's why I'm leader and you're not." deadpans Maddix to another growl of displeasure from Clark. "Pretzler's got all these advantages over us and yeah, he could be consider the strongest link. But, if we take out the strongest link...all the others will be that more vulnerable." "...plus he's the least loyal to the cause." adds Cortez. "...yeah, yeah, that too." A little taken of course from his 'leader-like' speech, Maddix tries to remember where he was. But can't seem too, so does what any good leader would... "Is Pretzler with Revolution Zero for Toxxic's cause, or is he just there so he could get their help to beat Spike? That's the question we need to ask." ...take credit for someone else's idea. "Clark, you're the Cruiserweight Division guy out of us three. And because of that, need you to get at Pretzler and get his belt away. And while I'm off recapturing the World Title from Sacred or Toxxic, depending on what happens on Storm, that leaves Davis to you Todd. And so long as we stay united, just like before, the Revolution will fall piece by piece around itself." Clark mumbles something to Cortez which gets a chuckle. Meanwhile, Maddix notices his team-mates aren't paying all that much attention to him and raises his eyes with a sigh. "...and with that said, let's start making some more plans. On how I'm gonna get drunk, legally, tonight." "I'll drink to that!" cheers the suddenly enthusiastic Clark, standing up and walking off towards the wheel. "And then some!"

    The SWF's future

Okay, bare with me here because this probably won't be the most popular idea in the history of this company. By quite some way. Now...obviously, the SWF isn't in 'crisis' or 'on it's last legs', but it's not at full strength in terms of roster and more importantly active roster. I'm not aware of the inner working of the fed so I don't know what the problem is. But, and here comes the crazy idea...would the SWF work if we became 'pre-determined' like the OAOAST. The vets'll probably remind us of how long the fed has been going in it's current form. But the fact is, we don't have the resources anymore. Sure, if that website ever gets done, we may get a couple more guys joining, but it's not going to matter if the people we've got don't enjoy writing. Anyway, I've been thinking about it and tried to draw up some advantages and dis-advantages and stuff. --Advantages-- First off, less workload. Obviously that's the big one. Basically, every match is 'pre-determined' so to speak. Which means instead of four people writing one match...in theory, that one match would be done by one or two people. The finish and storyline developments would be pre-agreed on and that leaves the other two people to do something else should they have the time. And if not...less workload. You know your character's match will be done so there's no danger of a no-show on the show. As long as the person(s) that agree to write do write. With less workload, in theory, that leaves room for more promos to be written. If you read an OAOAST show, it's usually promo central...where-as here, the mentality is 'write your match and then, do maybe one promo every month'. We get better storylines, because people have more time to develop them with promos. In theory. Also, there'd be no word limits, which means (in theory) that guys like Kaine, Dagda and Sly would have the opportunity to be more active. If they didn't want to write matches, no problem. They could promo. Their characters could be used in matches by others. Hell, they don't have to be on the show every week. Where-as now, match writing is what it's all about. With less workload, some of the retired vets would be able to come back and wouldn't have to write every show if they don't feel up to it. Infact, they wouldn't have to write at all. All you'd need is the vet to give permission for his character's use and bingo. Example: I'm sure Chuck could find the time to write Van Siclen stuff every now and then. And then, the rest could be handled by Cortez. Or whoever. And also, it means that Chuck could post the show and have an active competitor on it, unlike now. One thing that could or could not work...like the OAOAST, as we wouldn't be REQUIRED to write every match we're involved in, that means people could have more than one character should they choose. Which means a larger roster without having to find extra writers that simply aren't there. Also, guys like me, Toxx and Max could write a full-time women's division...unlike now, where we could only write Maddix OR Megan, Toxxic OR Jet, Max OR Kelly. This would also improve our tag division, as people could actually have two characters AS a team. Maybe set a limit of like 3 characters so we don't end up with one guy and eight characters. For guys like King and Korgath, if you're writing the match, you KNOW it'll be on the show. The one thing that always frustrated me as an SWF n00b was when I was writing great matches but against opponent I had no real chance of beating, so my stuff would never get shown. No offense meant to the Royal Order. But they're in this situation. They're in a tag division against W&D, Martial Law, Rev0...great writers. Not one of their tag matches has been seen which must be disheartening at times. And it's stuff like this that might eventually convince them to say 'what's the point' and quit. As for the competitive nature of the fed, it's still fairly competitive in the OAOAST...in a different way. Over there, people KNOW their stuff is being read and it keeps everyone active. Match quality needn't suffer. And with this format, it's more likely that the OAOAST guys that have time might decide to create an SWF character. Where-as now, only the brave (Martial Law) do it. We could pheasably have a 'working arrangement' with the OAOAST, without actually working with them so to speak. That way, we have more contact with each other and in theory the OAOAST guys would read our shows more often and vice versa. --Dis Advantages-- Obviously, it goes against the 'history of the fed'. Of course, we need to think more of the future than history. But I realise it goes against what this place was built on. Change can be tough sometimes and it's 5 years of history we'd be losing (in some ways). But it needn't be a drastic change. We needn't loose our lineage. We needn't do one show a week like the OAOAST. We needn't BECOME the OAOAST. Infact, looking back over it, becoming a hybrid of 'shoot' (SWF now) and 'pre-determined' (OAOAST now) wouldn't be that drastic of a change. PPVs could be 'competitive' like they are now. The Tag, ICTV, USJL, Hardcore, Womens and Cruiser belts could pre-determined as habit. But World Title matches could still be marked, still have word limits, still be a 'competition'. To keep only the best writers as World Champion. And also, other important title matches (or any matches for that matter) could easily have a marker should those involved be up for it. It'd be a case of for example Wildchild and Spike agreeing on a word limit, agreeing on when, where and what like any match...and then, asking someone to act as marker. Like Ace or Chuck. This idea will need people to give a damn. If you want your character to have matches on shows, we'd have to organise them ourselves between us...rather than simply writing a bunch of matches, waiting for the PPV, seeing what CC comes up with, writing another match, etc etc. People are too reliant on bookers atm. Also, most importantly, it NEEDS co-operation. If people are selfish over being champion or their win-loss record, it simply isn't going to work. So obviously, it'll mean win-loss records becoming less important. I think it'd work. Infact, I can't see it doing anything other than helping. The fact is, the way we work now is obviously not working for some people. CC aren't up for this? Fine, no problem. It's just an idea. I do think something needs to be done though. Otherwise, the small problems are only going to grow. Guys like King and Korgath are going to tire of being tag division whipping boys. A lot more guys are going to 'retire' a lot quicker (Johnny). Hell, even I've been thinking about swapping characters around because right now, the stuff I want to do with Maddix would be easier and sadly a lot more fun to do in the OAOAST (and would get more feedback). Anyway, that was my rambling. No doubt no-one'll agree with me, this'll all be forgotten and we'll go right back to normal again until things are a lot bleaker than they are now. But, whatever. Comment away.
