The Surviiiiiiiiiiiivor Seriiiiiiiiiiiiiies Thread
King Cucaracha replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
1.) Favorite world title match at the PPV? Has to be Michaels vs. Bret from 92. Michaels' first real stand-out singles match and one that put both men over. 2.) Favorite SSeries team elimination match? Well, a tie between Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff (awesome ending) and Team Alliance vs. Team WWF 3.) Favorite face / heel (or both) SSeries team assembled? Face: Bret/Piper/Virgil/Bulldog, 91 Heel: Ruud Brood (Rude/Perfect/Rougeaus), 89 4.) Favorite non-world title, non-team battle match other than Austin / Hart? Angle/Benoit vs. Eddie/Chavo vs. Edge/Mysterio 5.) Favorite segment? If it counts, the show long storyline in 98. Other than that, Owen/Bret/Backlund and the throwing of the towel, 94. 6.) Things you hated besides the Montreal Screwjob? Pretty much everything that's been said. Especially Team Yoko vs. Team Vader in '96. -
Promo: Parting is such sweet sorrow, Part One
King Cucaracha replied to Mr. S£im Citrus's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Indeed. Especially as it should give Johnny's character some sort of settlement, assuming that he's still inactive. If he's not, then double awesome. -
MAIN EVENT WORLD TITLE BOUT STREET FIGHT Toxxic© vs Annie Eclectic Annie is the sentimental pick of course, but I really can't see Toxxic giving up the gold without a fight, I really can't. HELL IN A CELL "Grand Slam" Mark Stevens vs The Suicide King I'm leaning towards King as, with my help of course, Stevens got the last victory in the feud in the six-man at Genesis. And I could certainly see the heel winning this feud to provide a rather interesting end to an epic feud. SINGLES MATCH Manson vs Nathaniel Kibagami He's back for a reason I'm sure, so I can see him coming out with the big guns early to get the win. TAG TEAM MATCH Todd Cortez & ??? vs Sean Davis & ??? Well, I probably know who the ???ers are. If I do, then I've forgotten at least one. Regardless, I'm going with Todd and ??? 1. ICTV TITLE BOUT ROYAL BEATING MATCH "The Icon" Max King© vs Landon "La Cucaracha" Maddix Fun, fun, fun. WOMEN'S TITLE SINGLES MATCH Kelly Connelly© vs Megan Skye See above. Sorry to dissapoint Janus as I know he's itiching for some furry fun. But even if Maxwell doesn't, then I'm going to find the time to write something for this. You can quote me on that. SINGLES MATCH Andrea Montgomery vs David Cross Drea, because she's Drea. CRUSIERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins© vs Austin Sly Bold prediction: Sly will write something, but the writing rust will allow Spike to take it. Spike has improved eons since he started showing for matches. HARDCORE TITLE MATCH Carnage© vs Christian Fury Carnage...almost sounds like...Carnie. I seriously don't know where I'm going with that, so I'll just saw Carnage to retain.

ASHES TO ASHES CARD, November 7th!
King Cucaracha replied to the.weej's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
No and no idea. To steal a phrase, 'it's just not cricket, is it'. I seemed to remember Manchester United having a working deal with the Yankees of some sort at some time, but that's about as far as interest in American sport goes since they stopped showing the NBA on terrestrial T.V. As a United fan I entirely disagree. It should read 'anyone wearing a Man U shirt in ENGLAND gets booed'. Besides, I might want to steal the 'who the hell are the Vodafones' line I saw in the OAO Raw Thread a while back. On the arena subject, if you're looking to save time then it can be called just the MEN Arena. On the music...I'm appalled you didn't use "Ashes To Ashes" by Tears For Fears. Anyway, cheers to the Z for putting in the women's match. -
Not to mention the precedents set towards Angle over the past few years. And I'm not just talking Tripper here.

ASHES TO ASHES CARD, November 7th!
King Cucaracha replied to the.weej's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I can't remember you promoing, which might have helped your cause. I dunno why you haven't been put on the cards recently while the Evan Wolfe's and Danny Dagda's (well, his lights are on but who knows if there's really anybody home) continue to get booked...but have you PMed any of the bookers about it? That would have been the first thing to do. You may not have been checked into the active list. Plus our bookers are prone to mistakes and some don't have their finger right on the pulse (*cough*MeganvsKellywhichIdidapromofor*cough*) ...cause for the most part, they're busy people. PM 'Van Siclen' and ask to be put on the card against someone who likely won't show. Or, if not, do a promo for the show. Or write a match yourself. Take matters into your own hands. -
I have no idea how that'd go, but it'd be entertaining to say the least. Oh, and the WWE have never done the drunken Irishman stereotype. And likely never will.

ASHES TO ASHES CARD, November 7th!
King Cucaracha replied to the.weej's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
... Uhm, yeah. Looks like SOMEONE forgot to PM ahead and ask for Megan vs. Kelly to be put on the card. Uhm...if it could be put on that'd be nifty. Cheers. -
The circumstances were totally different. They couldn't work the same type of match they usually do spot for spot, because of HBK's knee, so obviously they needed to go over what HBK could take and what he couldn't take...what sort of direction to take the match...how much Shawn would be on the defensive. Stuff like that. No surprise to see the guy who got injured on Tough Enough getting a contract.

The OAO "Does Booker T have a chance in Hell of
King Cucaracha replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
I can remember Van Dam trashing the IC Title, calling it "worthless" and saying he couldn't remember or care how many times he held the belt. That's pretty whiney to be honest, even if he may have had a point. -
WWE Releases Billy GUnn and A-Train
King Cucaracha replied to edotherocket's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, Bloom should think about going to Japan. He's a big guy with a decent amount of talent, unique look...hell, if Jamal can get work over there, Bloom certainly can. Gunn meanwhile...got to be TNA bound, surely? -
The OAO "Does Booker T have a chance in Hell of
King Cucaracha replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm still reeling that Dark Age actually used this in a pro-Booker arguement. The match was awful. AWFUL. Both guys dogged it and, save for the Spinaroonie, the crowd seemed pretty quiet for a British crowd. Booker isn't a bad worker though. He's just...bland. And he's suffering from the curse of being unmotivated in recent months, maybe even years. Just like Cena and RVD. Who, coincidentally, have also done nothing of note in recent months. Anyway, the question shouldn't just be about wrestling ability with Booker. It's about why exactly anyone should care about him. So, he's a face suddenly. Uhm, firstly, why? Because he doesn't like Orlando Jordan's relationship with Bradshaw. So suddenly, we're supposed to care about Booker T because he doesn't like Orlando Jordan? Then there's the question of Booker as a face. Bold prediction: All that Booker will do is become another dumbed down WWE face. He'll go the same way as Jericho did, Eddie did, RVD did, Angle always does, Big Show did, Cena did...Orton is heading. He'll become the same dull nice guy. Less interesting. We'll get the same generic face routine as everyone else, only with a 'SUCKA~!' here and a 'SPINAROONIE~!' there, which'll get the same dated cheap pops they did before he got traded to Smackdown. While we're on the subject, what exactly does Booker bring to interviews as it is anyway? The anti-JBLers have been complaining that he's a comedy character. At least he's entertaining in the role he's in. I can't remember a decent, interesting face promo by Booker...that didn't involve comedy. Take out any Goldust interaction and there's even less to look at. The jive talk doesn't help. But with or without that, he doesn't interest me enough to make me care. -
You'll be back. Yeah, ditto with Hoff in knowing this was coming but still feeling sad about it. Cheers for the compliment too. It means a lot. Now...for those of us who can see nothing but a 'red x' on the OAOAST homepage, what exactly is the HI-YAH announcement?

As another Brit... Royal Rumble - Bought. Pretty much bought only for the Rumble. Backlash - Bought, with Orton/Foley the main reason. Great American Bash - Didn't order as it looked horrible. I contemplated getting the DVD but judging from all the net reports, it'd be a waste of money. Vengeance - Bought. No Mercy- Didn't have the channel it was on (SS2), but I've got the DVD on pre-order so, technically, I'm buying it.

Well, us newbies are officially confused.

- It's week 4. It's Rage. And it's on the air. - And the DDR machine is in the ring, ready for the inaugural UWE Dance Dance Revolution Tournament. Your hosts are The Blue Meanie and Torrie Wilson, who announce all of the participants. Boos for The Nasty Boys and Sonny Saiki, cheers for Doring, La Parka and Max Moon...and a mixed reaction for Malenko, of some boos and some laughs. First up, Saiki vs. La Parka. La Parka 'Parka struts' his way through his routine and wins on fan reaction. Next up, it's Danny Doring and Max Moon, with Doring winning. The Nastys get paired against each other in contest three. Both were so horrendous it's not even funny, and in the end it's declared a no contest to the Nastys' disgruntlement. That left the eagerly awaited DDR debut of Dean Malenko...or so it seemed. Malenko started off okay but his rigid style caught up with him and he eventually messed up. Ever the perfectionist, Malenko snapped and attacked Doring who was laughing loudest. They brawled off as Meanie declared Malenko eliminated. So it was down to La Parka versus the mystery entrant in the final. Parka went through his routine again, before the mystery entrant turned out to be...TORRIE WILSON! Torrie looked a pro but a "La Parka" chant got going mid-routine. So Torrie stopped, stripped to her bra and panties and danced on. Unsurprisingly, Torrie won the fan vote. La Parka was a gracious loser...but The Nastys weren't! They attacked Meanie, Moon and Parka, before spike piledriving Meanie on the DDR stage! - Backstage, Clockwork Violence are in their locker room. Richards warns the five men around him that he doesn't want a repeat of last week and he wants them to make an impact tonight. 1. Singles Match 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson w/JJ Dillon went to a no contest with Perry Saturn in 7:20 (**) A largely even match ended when Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane and Jerry Lynn ended up getting involved. New Jack ran in and chased the Midnight Horsemen off with a steel chair. - Backstage, Test is admiring his chiselled physique in a mirror...as Sunny watches on. Sunny asks Test if he's looking for a manager and Test smiles, saying 'sure, why not'. Off skips Sunny, as Test looks back into the mirror, muttering that 'she wants me'. 2. Singles Match Randy Orton defeated The British Bulldog at 5:12 (*1/4) Orton slipped free of the Running Powerslam before hitting the RKO for the three count. - Tonight's main event...Shawn Michaels, Sid Vicious and Scott Hall take on three members of Clockwork Violence! - Josh Matthews is backstage with Sunny, welcoming her officially to the UWE. She talks for a while about being back and all her fans, until Test interrupts. Accusing Matthews of staring at Sunny's chest and being a pervert, Test slaps the weedy Matthews and shoves him to the ground. Matthews scurries off, but Test starts to throw insults at Matthews, telling him that he'll be waiting in the ring for him tonight if he's got any balls. - Meanwhile, Styles and Tenay confirm The Meanie has been taken to the hospital. As a result of that, next up, The Nastys have been challenged to a match by Max Moon and La Parka. 3. Tag Team Match The Nasty Boys beat Max Moon and La Parka in 5:40 (1/4*) The Nastys stole this one, with Sags getting the win with a rollup and a handful of tights on Moon. - Christopher Daniels and Jamie Noble sit backstage, while Brian Pillman talks about their match at First Blood and his intentions to win what's left of the TV Title belt. But tonight he's in tag team action and he wants Noble and Daniels to decide who'll be teaming with him tonight. Noble makes the decision, by superkicking Daniels! Pillman seems to like what he saw and laughs away as he and Noble walk off. - With Gene Okerlund, Scott Hall officially challenged Sean O'Haire to a match at First Blood. 4. Tag Team Match 'The Loose Cannon' Brian Pillman and Jamie Noble defeated UWE TV Champion Rey Mysterio and Paul London in 9:47 (***) Rey was without his tattered title belt. With tempers running high, this one could have gone either way. In the end, a miscommunication by Rey Mysterio saw London take the West Coast Drop and get pinned by Pillman. London and Rey argued post match...and while they did, Pillman DDTed the celebrating Noble on the rampway! Eventually, Christopher Daniels ran out and brawled with Pillman, but fell to a DDT as well. - An angry Dean Malenko said that while Danny Doring did get the last laugh on him at DDR, but in the ring he vowed to have the last laugh on Doring at First Blood. 5. Tag Team Match KroniK defeated Barry Windham and David Flair in 4:19 (DUD) Near squash match, with KroniK overcoming early offense from Windham before drilling Flair with High Times for the victory. - Shawn Michaels told Gene Okerlund he was ready to become the Universal Champion at First Blood, but he hoped it wouldn't split the five anti-Clockwork Violence rebels...as if it did, he feared for the UWE's future. 6. Singles Match Josh Matthews beat Test w/Sunny in 3:19 (DUD) Test destroyed the former Tough Enough contestant, until Hardcore Holly ran down the aisle to save Matthews, nailing Test with the Alabama Slam and dumping Matthews on top of Test to get the three count! Holly helped Matthews to the back, while Sunny and Test watched on angrily. - Styles and Tenay run down the First Blood card... HBK vs. Ken Shamrock vs. Randy Savage vs. Sting for the Universal Championship Rey Mysterio vs. Paul London for the UWE Television Title Sid vs. Masahiro Chono Scott Hall vs. Sean O'Haire Jamie Noble vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Brian Pillman for the TV Title #1 Contendership The Midnight Horsemen vs. The New Gangsta-nators and Jerry Lynn, with Extreme Rules Dean Malenko vs. Danny Doring JUST MADE: Tag Team Turmoil, for the Tag Title #1 Contendership. Featuring The Nasty Boys, Savio and Carlito, Rhodes and Animal, Orton and The Mountie, Patriot and Moon, Windham and Flair, The Blue Meanie and La Parka and KroniK! - Test and Sunny were backstage, challenging Hardcore Holly and Josh Matthews to a mixed tag team match at First Blood. 7. Six Man Tag Team Match Clockwork Violence (Randy Savage, Masahiro Chono and Sean O'Haire) defeated Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall and Sid Vicious in 12:38 (**1/2) Chaos. Pure chaos. Michaels was the token face in peril but eventually got the tag to Hall, who was on fire. Eventually Hall was overwhelmed...but Sid got involved, cleaning house. However, as all that was going on, HBK's wayward Sweet Chin Music attempt on O'Haire missed, hitting Sid instead. Chono capitalised with a Yakuza Kick on HBK to get the three count. - Post match and out came the other three members of Clockwork Violence for a beatdown. Shamrock and Sting ran out to help, but the 5 on 6 numbers were too much to overcome. Until that is, the mystery masked man of mystery ran in through the crowd, mysteriously using a chair to KO Orton and Chono. Richards quickly got his men out of the line of fire as the masked man stood tall...but saw security running after him and quickly left the ring, running out back through the crowd. "WHO WAS THAT CRAZY MASKED MAN~!" screams Styles, as the show goes off the air.

Austin/Vega at WM XII sent me to sleep.

November To Remember '98, Tanaka/Balls vs. The Dudleys. Crooked ref Jeff Jones runs in and does his whole 'oh, I've pulled my shoulder' act when counting a Tanaka pin. Tanaka starts yelling at Jones, who responds by yelling 'What the fuck are you saying!?!' before eventually pulling out a Japanese phrase book to Tanaka's bemusement. Cheap laugh, I know.
-
Well, crap. Funk, get counting bizzitch.
-
Jericho vs. Christian vs. RVD (Unforgiven '03)- Outside of two spots this was so dull. There was no reason for the match to even happen, the crowd were dead, JR and King didn't care (and to be fair were given no real reason to).

*vows to convince whoever wrote this to join the OAOAST*

Well, they're right to sue as the damage has been done already. Those without a recent interest in wrestling still call it the WWF and don't know about the name change, at least here in Britain. Which is where the suit is being filed. I do doubt if the confusion between the two is as big of a problem to the Fund as they make/made it out to be, but the fact remains any problems were brought on by Vince. Therefore, he was in the wrong and the Fund are entitled to sue the Fed if they believe it neccessary. As Rudo said.
-
Certainly. But their chances of being hired and being used successful are pretty weak in the current environment. Candido has backstage support so I'd be more inclined to predict he'd get a good spot on Smackdown rather than Velocity/Heat duty than I would for a Christopher Daniels or AJ Styles.

X Title match is in.

Smarkdown Predictions
King Cucaracha replied to Angel_Grace_Blue's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
MAIN EVENT TAG TEAM EXTRAVAGANZA!!! Toxxic and Sean Davis vs Annie Eclectic and Todd Cortez - Annie and Cortez HARDCORE NON-TITLE MATCH Andrea Montgomery vs Carnage - Uhm...Drea, although this Carnage guy has a lot of potential (then again, half the no-showing midcarders in the fed did too...) HARDCORE-GAMERS TITLE SHOT FREE-FOR-ALL!!! Austin Sly vs. Christian Fury vs. Manson vs. Mike Hall vs. Danny Dagda vs. Evan Wolfe - ...speaking of which. If he writes, Sly. If not then it's Manson just stealing it from Fury. The others get eaten by Pacman or something.
