Sting is about the biggest name in American wrestling that Vince could bring in, that hasn't already been brought in. Plus, merchandise wise, Vince can hardly lose with Sting. It'd certainly do Smackdown no harm to bring Sting in, even if it's in an Undertaker type 'makes irregular apperances' role. How you'd turn him heel effectively though is beyond me.

Why? The spear is fine against smaller opponents ...how many of which would be challenging for the World Title if Edge had it? Benoit...Michaels...Orton maybe. At the risk of jumping on the bandwagon, the Spear REALLY needs to either go or be modified i.e a top rope spear as an alternative finisher.

Yeah, I did. And the next seven matches after it... ...just thought I'd mention that... ...but it wasn't a great match by any means. Wasn't till the Pole Match with Todd that I started writing to a competitive standard.

I'm no expert on creative criticism, but if no-one else gives any soon then I'll have a go. On the first read though...For a first effort, that looks a rock solid match as far as the prose of the match goes. The main problem that stands out is the rushed ending, which on this occassion may have worked against you...but on the face of things, doesn't really take away too much from the actual match when marking isn't needed. As I say...I'll have a go at analysing more for you when I have the time if Taamo or someone else more qualified doesn't beat me to it. But for now, I'd say that I'd be proud of that for a first match. And that's literally, considering my first match.

EDIT: Nevermind King, I just saw the post in the Lockdown card about it... Besides that...swank main event to cap off a pleasantly surprising show. Kudos to all who won and all who wrote.

On the subject of the first post... ...what exactly COULD they have done with Kanyon? Oh and... Yeah. Paul London is more of a priority than Raw's top heel, popular veteran and World Champion. I love the guy's work to death, and agree he should be on air, but there's no need to be on his jock 24/7.

Trivia...how the hell did Rikishi get in your 'young and talented' list? Personally, I'd rather they gave the bland guys outlandish gimmick, if only for a little comic relief. It might get kids watching the shows again. Plus, for better or for worse, it makes the brand split seem a legitimate thing, rather than 'this is half the WWE, and this is the other-half...they're different...really.' But re-reading the article...it says 'extreme gimmicks'...which isn't neccessarily the cartoonish stuff, and rather more evident gimmicks. John Cena's rap gimmick comes under that 'extreme gimmick' definition, and that's worked.

Sweet Jesus. Benoit got a Standing O at an autograph signing? OMG WHAT A LEGEND~! It's lists like that one that go to prove how over-obsessed this board is with Benoit. Don't get me wrong...I'm a Benoit fan. This board's undying love for him is beginning to change that. Fantastic wrestler, nobody can doubt that. Hit and miss on the mic. Benoit on the mic doesn't scream consistancy the way a World Champion usually does. His crowd reactions have improved, yes. But they haven't been consistant enough. The Standing O thing is not exactly a valid point. He had the one at RR, and after that it kind of became a gimmick. You're telling me he would have got a Standing O after beating Nunzio if it wasn't for the Rumble crowd doing it? I highly doubt it. At first, I thought all the 'Benoit is responsible for the ratings rise' was a joke. Now I'm beginning to wonder. I'm sure he factored into it. I'm also sure the battle royal played a part, as did The Rock's return and a solid show the week before may have done too. As DH said, it's not just one factor. Benoit turning up doesn't spike ratings unfortunately. As I say...I'm a Benoit fan. The over-the-top nature of this folder for the most-part is a step too far though for me. Especially when someone is called 'markish' and 'a 12 year old' for finding Benoit boring. Surely that's his decision to make, right? While I'm in rant mode...BBCW, get over the -ib- mentions. I'd be surprised if the feud didn't continue into GAB with a Mordecai run-in to help Booker beat Taker.

Well, Konnan on Smackdown would do more good than harm probably. A relatively recognisable guy with enough charisma to get over with the crowd. And with the WWE style, may have a better chance of putting on half-decent matches. Plus, if they bring him in and turn him heel, you've got storyline prospects against Rey, Cena and Eddie almost instantly. Hell, Kidman and Konnan as heel Filthy Animals would provide a new tag team in the division too.

After re-watching the match, I have to say that chair shot Eddie took is SICK. He deserves a lot of credit for having the cajones to take that and to blade so heavily. However, it's not surprising but slightly saddening that Bradshaw's not getting a lick of credit. It was the best performance of his career...obviously, seeing as there's not a lot of competition. But still. He bumped and sold for Eddie, he didn't use the chinlock excessively, he didn't have the suckfest match everyone was predicting. Not to mention the fact he wasn't blown up at the end of the match as everyone was predicting. The match was great. And that's not SOLELY down to Eddie. He deserves the majority of the credit don't get me wrong. It's just typical that Bradshaw gets totally ignored, despite showing a damn sight more than everyone here (including me) expected.

Well, that's my first AS exam over with. Finished 45 minutes early, which is always hell. So I've been sitting thinking up some decent spots... ...yes, I was THAT bored... ...and hopefully, touch wood, I'll not only show but get in an early match. --Triple Crown Landon

The official England squad has been announced... The fact that Heskey, Vassell, Carragher and Hargreaves made it over some of the standbys fills me with little hope for our prospects. Well...I think it's 26 days until the first game. What date that is I'm too lazy to look up.

Jesus Christ. Yeah, the PTC would probably have a legitimate gripe here. But those whining cunts can go to hell anyway. Seriously, who were was expecting such a bloodbath heading into this match? Well...not to the extent that it was, but I was expecting they'd go that route. The main event was great, and I've got to agree with Meltzer about the comparison with a strong Mexican match. The heat was there. The blood was there. The pacing was handled well, and the story from Smackdowns past was kept running. The main thing though was the fact it was believable. It was everything Angle/Eddie at Mania should have been in terms of intensity. They supposedly hated each other...until the bell rung, and they suddenly didn't want to tear each other apart, instead having a technical match. Luckily, they didn't make the same mistake this time.
