So where does RAW go from here?

I realise he shouldn't be in the ring, don't get me wrong. But what are the chances of him retiring before the year's out?

    New Worst Episode Ever

Sadly, it'll probably get worse before it gets better...because I doubt FOX will pull the plug on the show for quite a while, and Groening'll keep going for as long as possible.

So where does RAW go from here?

Orton isn't ready for the ME yet. He's reached the crossroads seemingly, but a while with Benjamin would be beneficial rather than facing Benoit and losing. I wouldn't mind Orton and Batista turning on Flair soon, leading to Orton Flair. Flair needs to be a face.

The One and Only Backlash Reaction

Well, the RKO was the wrong move because Orton had to make sure Foley's face hit, and therefore it didn't look like a good RKO. Anywho: Benjamin/Flair: I liked it, but it wasn't good...if that makes sense. Nice little spots, but there was not enough flow to the match. Still, it was decent enough. ** Coach/Tajiri: Coach hitting the armdrag gave me memories of Rodman. Except...you know...the lack of crowd pop. Credit to Coach for trying, but he didn't heel it up enough for my liking. The dropkick to the back of the head was sick. 3/4* Jericho vs. X/Trish: Fun match...I thought Trish might un-turn until the clothesline. Where they go from here is what worries me though. **3/4 Vicky vs. Lita: Looked great in fast forward. Vicky does a standing moonsault, and apart from that I didn't watch much of it. N/R Orton/Foley: They did a great job here. Foley took his bumps, and I was worried it'd be a Foley bumpfest again. I'm STILL in shock that Orton took the tack bump. Major kudos to him for that, and for the fact he sold it like a champ. He had a shitload of tacks in his arm. The finish was slightly weak, but other than that it was great. ***1/2 And to think, before Backlash I read someone saying Orton was a pussy because he couldn't blade properly. Boy, I bet they're shocked now. Hurricane/Rosey vs. La Resistance: Well, I got a cheap laugh out of Eugene's earlier skit...this was painful though. And they did the Heat camera work for the match too, which wasn't a good thing. 1/2* Edge vs. Kane: When the most heat the match got was a 'You Screwed Bret' chant, I feared the worst. Boring stuff. 1/2* Benoit vs. HHH vs. HBK: Very nice, and they did the Sharpshooter spot. And man, were those 'Shawn Screwed Bret' chants brutal or what? Benoit goes over, and I'm happy. Very nice match, great ending. ****

    I could've killed, all night!

Oh well, if it were in LSD, we'd probably be talking about whever them exchanging awkward looks meant the chick liked him. Which, I think, is a blessing in disguise.

*smacks head* Man, am I blind or what? Cheers Dace.
  8. No word on the Heat match, but the part I've bolded is itneresting. So...is this a "hint" that they will do these things, or do they always say this?

Kurt Not Dead According to WWE

Maybe when Show went for the chokeslam, one of his fingernails scratched Angle's neck, thus causing the bleeding?
  12. It's the WWE. Doesn't he have problems backstage like/because of Lita? Injured. This is the most confusing one. Batista has had quite a few decent matches since Survivor Series (with help admitedly, but still)...I'd prefer him to Flair against Shelton. Has he debuted on Raw yet? If not, that may be your answer. See above, except that he's only just debuted. Who? Who? He'll probably be involved in something with Eugene.

    Backlash notes from Meltzer

My bad. I was refering to the RAW show. As for No Way Out, they had Jericho stay heel (even though he had the fucking crowd eating out of the palm of his hand for an obvious reason) by beating up Jeff with Christian which caused Michaels to come make the save, which forced the fans to cheer HBK. I don't get how they weere forced to cheer him, just because he made the save for Hardy. They didn't cheer Hardy during the match, but suddenly Christian comes out and the Canadians care about Jeff enough to cheer the "EVIL~! in Canada" Michaels?

The OAO What's this move thread

Uh...I just saw a Mark Sloan/Nikita match from FWA, and he hits this cool move...it's like a standing modified figure four, before he pulls the opponent's head up and DDT's them. Anyone know if it's got a name?

    Backlash Predictions

7 matches is a small number of matches for a PPV, especially when most of them will go 7-10 minutes. Bad Blood ended at 10:30 EST and it had 7 matches. It's a matter of getting your moneys worth. More matches = longer show. Depends on the matches. Wrestlemania 6 had about fourteen matches, but most were under 6 minutes. Less matches usually = longer matches, which is a good thing.

    Backlash Predictions

Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels WINNER: Trips. Could Benoit have been more like a transitional champion? No Holds Barred match for the Intercontinental Championship Randy Orton vs. Mick Foley WINNER: Randy Orton. I'm actually looking forward to this match, and hope it gives Orton a chance to show something to his doubters for once. Women's Championship match Victoria vs. Lita WINNER: Vicky. Handicap match Chris Jericho vs. Christian & Trish WINNER: Chris Jericho, after a Trish face turn and 'it was a set-up all along' ploy. Edge vs. Kane WINNER: Kane by cheap DQ Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair WINNER: Benjamin. It should give him a bit of a rub, and I expect Flair to pull out a decent performance to make Shelton look good. Tajiri vs. Coach WINNER: Coach. I can see a run-in by that Kenzo guy. After all, all Japanese wrestlers must either be allies or enemies with a Japanese wrestler by wrestling law.

    Yes. Yes he does.
  22. Neither is great, but at least they've put some effort into making Bradshaw interesting. It's something fresh, and something interesting...the gimmick, not neccesarily the match...where as Holly was just plain old 1998 Holly. That and the fact the Holly/Lesnar build-up sucked. I can buy Bradshaw as a threat to Eddie. But Holly to Lesnar? Just because Holly started using a full nelson, he was a dangerous man? At least Bradshaw looks like he could do Eddie damage.
