    NWA:TNA- Revolution

March's Top 10 NWA Champion: Jeff Jarrett Retained the belt against both Killings by disqualification, and then of course against Styles at Quest For The Gold. A better month than the last. 1: Ron Killings Won the Quest For The Gold to make him the rightful number one contender. Also claimed a great win over Legend, and gave Jarrett a run for his money the day before Quest For The Gold…should be a real challenge for Jarrett at Nothing Left To Lose. 2: Raven Victories over Kash and Abyss in a handicap match, and then in the Over The Top Rope Challenge take Raven up to two. 3: Chris Sabin Despite losing his X-Division Title at Quest For The Gold, Sabin holds a win over the new champion Paul London this month and also defended successfully against Sonjay Dutt. Whever he can get back his gold will remain to be seen. 4: James Storm The AMW hold victories over both the New Church and Kyo Dai in tag team action…retaining their titles, and keeping themselves in a top position in the rankings. 5: Chris Harris Harris goes down one from his tag team partner due to a loss to Jimmy Yang. Besides that, his Tag Title wins keep him in the top 10. 6: Christopher Daniels A pinfall victory over the previous number one contender AJ Styles…a great run in the Quest For The Gold Match which saw him eliminate four people, AND, he eliminated Dusty Rhodes. 7: Paul London The NEW X-Division Champion…despite the loss to Sabin at the beginning of the month and others, London got the fantastic win which snaps him up to seventh. 8: AJ Styles Beat Kid Kash early in the month. Despite the loss to Jeff Jarrett, Styles still had a decent month. 9: Doug Basham Holds a pinfall victory over Paul London, eliminated for in the Quest For The Gold and came second in the Over The Top Rope Challenge. 10: Barry Windham 10th place, despite having only one match, by virtue of the runner-up spot in the Quest For The Gold where he eliminated four people. Expect bigger and better things through April. Match Of The Month Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles on the March 27th XPlosion

Well...I wasn't expecting that. Most mis-leading title ever. Anyway, kudos on getting the fued on with HVT...good luck, cause you'll need it.

    Vince as announcer

His fake laugh was great. And I think you can include any time he tried putting over anyone/thing wrestlcrap worthy like The Goon or the Buddy Rose Blowaway Diet (which admittedly was a joke, but still.) Can't think of any specifics.

    NWA:TNA- Revolution

Post Event News We were delighted with the show...everybody pulled out that little extra for the Pay Per View. The Quest For The Gold Match was a little ill-conceived in that seventeen men in the ring got over-crowded. We were delighted with the reactions for Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham and Christopher Daniels who is in for a push. As you already know, WGN offered us a contract to put on a prime-time television show. We accepted the deal for a Wednesday night show, due to the lack of competition. It's called "Total Nonstop TV", which is nice and original...or, not. Finally getting a prime-time show means a lot more time to build feuds... Or so it seems, as MLW now have a new TV show on Saturday Graveyard, running on the Playboy Channel. That means they'll go head to head with us...and seeing as the Playboy Channel is more widely picked up than Urban America, that could mean bad things for us. Keeping on the television theme, the WWE have got themselves even more power...both Heat and Velocity have been promoted to prime time slots. So, that's not the best news for us. Anywho...due to the new prime-time T.V show, we've got to sort out some new contracts. First of all, we've secured a deal with the WWE star Tommy Dreamer. Feeling unhappy at his recent use in the World Wrestling Entertainment, Dreamer wants to go back to his roots. He's appeared with the Ring Of Honor a couple of times recently...and wants the lessened workload but with the more grass roots image. Also we've had successful talks with Dusty Rhodes, who gets a new written contract for $83,000 a month. Basically, we want to use him more. ROH star Colt Cabana has signed an open contract which will pay him $21,000 per apperance. The Second City Saints will re-unite as a result, Punk pulled out of the New Church. Matt Morgan gets a written contrast, for $17,000...the reason for this being plans have been found for him to fulfill. He's impressed us with his ethics and backstage behaviour, therefore gets a new contract. Nate Webb gets a written contract, for $16,000. He wasn't given very much time in the Quest For The Gold Match. Well...none at all. But we consider him a decent talent. The same can be said for Austin Lee, who gets a shiny new written contract, for $21,000. On the PWI front, Jerry Jarrett and Andrew McManus met for preliminary talks over the takeover of Pro Wrestling Iron by the NWA:TNA. To take over the company, pay off the debts and retain all the assets we wish two will cost in the region of $860,000. The rumour is that the deal is set to be completed, and that it will be done over the weekend. If so, the retained assets (i.e the wrestlers we want to keep) will begin to debut from Wednesday's TotalNonstop TV debut.

    CHRIS JERICHO WAS RIGHT !!!!

Can we rename this thread OMG I'VE ONLY JUST REALISED SOMETHING !!!! Things have been this way for a few years on and off. Hell, like RVDMARK's post says, this was first brought up in about 2002...probably before. As for Jericho...what nationality are his parents, because that counts towards his nationality. His nation of birth doesn't have to be the one he's recognised by.

    NWA:TNA- Revolution

Before the PPV came on the air, we were greeted by Erik Watts standing in the ring, getting a great reaction from the crowd. Watts- Welcome...to Quest for the GOLD!!! The crowd pop, as Watts smiles and nods. Watts- Thank you all for coming here tonight, and supporting the NWA:TNA in it's quest towards Global status. Tonight, we hope to present a night of action like the NWA:TNA has never produced. But, first we would like to thank all of you who tuned into XPlosion over the past month during it's later timeslot...and are pleased to announce that as well as XPlosion, beginning April 7th, you can now catch the NWA:TNA on WGN Superstation...Total Nonstop TV...every Wednesday night...PRIME...TIME!!! The crowd pop again...this time starting a "TNA" chant...but that doesn't last long, as suddenly Don Callis' music hits, to boos from the crowd. Callis- Thank you...thank you. Erik Watts...thank you so much for stealing my spotlight. I was all set to come out here as the NWA:TNA's Chief Executive, and like I did last month welcome the crowd...and I was going to announce the new T.V deal, which after all, I played a big part in getting. Oh yes...I've got stroke Watts. I've got stroke with the Network Execs up at WGN. And they were very exicted at the prospect of me announcing the deal. But...you've ruined it now, haven't you. Watts- Hey, Don...calm down brother. There's no need to...cry about it. Callis starts to angrily reply, but gets cut off by a "Crybaby" chant. Callis- Listen to me Watts! Now, I can cope with you stealing my spotlight. Hell, I've had to do that for the past 3 or 4 months now. But your distinct lack of respect leaves me no choice...but to have you escorted from the ring. Watts- Escort me from the ring? Callis- Yes Erik...see tonight, you're a wrestler. Which means you have no power over proceedings tonight. Where as...I do. So, I can escort you from this ring and if need be this building...so I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Watts- Or what! Callis grins, as Watts waits for an answer...as meanwhile, there's some commotion in the crowd as two people suddnely jump the barriers... Callis- You asked for it Watts...SECURITY! The two men roll into the ring...it's Red Shirt Security! Watts turns around...DOUBLE SPINEBUSTER SLAM!!! Here comes Kid Kash and Abyss too, running into the ring as Callis watches on laughing. Watts gets picked up by the Red Shirts...Kash nails a superkick. Abyss meanwhile is climbing to the top rope! Watts is helpless...TOP ROPE SPLASH FROM ABYSS!!! Watts has been laid out!!! The TNA Management start yelling down at Watts, who is holding his ribs in pain, while the four men leave the ring. OR: 71 NWA:TNA QUEST FOR THE GOLD 28th March 2004 Live on PPV from the TNA Asylum, in Nashville Tennesee Commentators: ‘The Professor’ Mike Tenay and Don West The PPV level pyro hits, and we're once again live in the TNA Asylum. Mike Tenay along with Don West at ringside...nice to know he's still employed. Tenay- Welcome to NWA:TNA...Quest For The Gold! Mike Tenay here tonight with Don West...and Don, before we go into the show, we've got to run down what just happened... West- That's right Mike. Erik Watts was out here before the show thanking the fans here...and announced that from April 7th, NWA:TNA will be featured on WGN with a Primetime Wednesday night show. Then Don Callis comes out, calls for 'security'...who were unsurprisingly Legend and Northcutt, the Red Shirts. Then Kash and Abyss came down, Watts got attacked...we don't even know if Watts will make it to the Quest For The Gold Match now! Tenay- Don Callis throwing his weight around already...well, anyway, we're moments away from the Tag Team Title Match...so let's send it up to the ring. NWA Tag Team Championships The America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris)© vs Kyo Dai (Jimmy Yang and Ryan Sakoda) A solid start to the show, both teams seemed on their game tonight. Kyo Dai especially worked their asses off...the result being this match was considerably better than the XPlosion meeting last month. Kyo Dai surprisingly worked the role of dominant heel team, isolating James Storm and cutting off the champions' half of the ring. Yang made the first mistake, missing an enziguri and getting caught with a huge clothesline. Sakoda ran in and got spinebustered out of his boots before Storm got the hot tag to Harris, who came in and cleared house. Harris hit the Catatonic on Yang a couple of minutes later, only for Sakoda to break the count. Kyo Dai tried to double team their way to victory over Harris, but in ran Storm to take out Yang. Sakoda flew off the top rope at Harris, but got caught in his arms…Storm quickly climbing to the top rope, and the AMW hit the Death Sentence on Sakoda. Harris made the cover…and got the three count, to retain the Tag Team Titles. Winners and still NWA Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted by pinfall in 8:34 **3/4 (68, 51, 86) Notes: The NWA Tag Team titles have gained in image Tenay- The America’s Most Wanted retain…and once again prove themselves the best tag team in the NWA:TNA! West- Another impressive showing…I don’t know if there’s a team in the NWA who can take those titles off the AMW. Tenay- Whoever that team is,. they’ll have one heck of a task to do so. West- Let’s go backstage to Scott Hudson… Backstage we go, as Scott Hudson is stood by with one of the favourites in the Quest For The Gold Match, Raven. Hudson- Well, tonight is a night of reckoning for many men…one of those men is standing beside me now, Raven. And, it’s fair to say Raven that this match has special importance to you… Raven- Special importance? You could say that... Tonight, for some people, it is a chance to prove themselves. For some people, it's a chance to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Some people...some people have to win this match Scott. I am one of those men. In my mind I have to win this match. The NWA World Championship has elluded me for far too long...and winning this thirty man Quest For The Gold will get me my shot. A loss...I hate to think how long I would have to wait for my shot. I'm an impatient man Scott Hudson. I'm not prepared to wait. Hudson- Well, amongst the twenty nine men in the Quest For The Gold is a man you've had a few problems in the recent past with Abyss. I'm sure you'll be hoping to face off with him during the match... Raven- Abyss and I will have our day very soon. It matters not to me whever Abyss is in the ring when I enter or not. But...I assure you...if he is, then I'll have no hesitation in extracting some revenge on him tonight. Raven walks away, as Hudson quickly sends it back to ringside. OR: 86 Tenay- Raven is a man on a mission tonight. And, he said it best...some men feel they have to win this match, and he's certainly one of them. West- But it won't be easy for Raven, because there's twenty nine men in that match wanting the number one contendership as well. NWA:TNA X-Division Championship 'The Future' Chris Sabin © vs Paul London A fantastic match. Pure and simple. The crowd's indifference was the only let-down, which was surprising. I guess the crowd aren't as high on London as they probably should be. Apart from that, it was a top notch match. Slightly slow to begin with, which didn't help the crowd reaction, the tempo picked up gradually the more London got in control. The crowd came alive early as London hit an INCREDIBLE shooting star lariat from the apron, and then when Sabin hit a DDT on the floor...but Sabin then used some neck work, which slowed the tempo right back down. Much like the Dutt/Sabin match, Sabin then connected with a series of high impact moves, none of which could put the challenger away. And like Dutt/Sabin, Sabin countered a hurricanrana into a powerbomb, and hooked the ropes for the pin...only for London to kick out! London began to fight back, nailing a series of speed orientated moves. And after some beautiful counter wrestling he nailed a superkick, before going to the top. Sabin recovered and met him on the ropes, only to get pushed off...and hit with the London Calling! London quickly hooked the leg...1...2....3! NEW CHAMPION! London was passed the X-Division Title belt, and he quickly raised it tirumphantly in the air. However, as he did so Chris Sabin crawled over behind him...and nailed a lowblow! London doubled over...as Sabin quickly hit the Future Shock! The crowd booed the sore loser Sabin, as he angrily left the ring. Winner and NEW X-Division Champion: Paul London by pinfall in 17:25 **** (74, 48, 100) Notes: The NWA X title has gained in image Tenay- What the hell was the meaning of that? Chris Sabin...what a show of poor sportsmanship. West- And what a dampner on a fantastic victory for the new X-Division Champion. Tenay- Indeed...the new X-Division Champion, Paul London thoroughly deserving of that belt. We go backstage next to where Doug Basham is sat in his dressing room, lacing his boots in preperation for the Quest For The Gold Match. As he does so, a shadow slowly looms over him...Basham looking up, to see his manager Jim Cornette standing looking down at him, weilding the tennis racket. Basham- Hey Jim... Cornette- Doug. Are you gonna need me out there tonight? Basham- Jim, didn't ya hear? No managers allowed at ringside during the Quest For The Gold. Cornette- No...I hadn't heard that. Cornette sighs, and throws his tennis racket to the side in anger. Basham- Don't worry boss...I've got it sorted. Cornette- Doug, have you ever been in a match like this? Basham- Well, no bu... Cornette- I haven't either, but I know what something like this entails. Don't say you've got it sorted. Owen Hart said that to me, Yokozuna said that to me, The Heavenly Bodies said that to me, Tenryu and Kabuki said it to me, and The British Bulldog said that to me. But none of them managed to win. That's because this type of match is the toughest match to win you will ever be involved in. You don't have this sorted, because just when you think you do, someone sneaks up behind you and throws you out. I have the confidence in you to win this. And I know that you will win this...as long as you don't get over-confident. You can't afford to do that...this is your shot at getting the NWA World Title. Don't waste it... Basham chuckles, before standing up from his seat. Basham- Don't worry Jim...I won't... OR: 70 West- Doug Basham has got to be a contender for the Quest For The Gold Mike... Tenay- Certainly so Don, providing of course he got himself a favourable draw. West- Very true. Tenay- Well, the Quest For The Gold Match is upcoming next...thirty men all going for one World Title shot. And of all the men in that match...the mystery still surrounds the unnamed NWA legend that is entered in the match. We have no clue who it is, what number he's got...we don't have a clue. West- We do know it's not Barry Windham, he's of course a named NWA legend entrant. Tenay- Raven, Doug Basham, Sonny Saiki, Ron Killings...the big man Abyss. There's a lot of men more than capable of becoming the NWA Champion entered into this one. But only one man will advance on to "Nothing Left To Lose" and get the title shot... 30 Man Quest For The Gold Match Blue= Entrant Red= Elimination Slash drew number one, and number two was Chris Vaughn. One and a half minute intervals for this match which is always a good thing. Slash and Vaughn spend those two minutes with your typical brawling...the first near elimination coming as Vaughn held on after an elimination attempt from Slash. Burchill came in at number three, and launched off with some vicious offence on both men pretty much unchallenged for the next two minutes. Burchill nailed the standing star press on both men, stopping to pose for the crowd as number 4 Rene Dupree made his entrance. Burchill and Dupree did battle, as meanwhile Slash threw Vaughn over the top...only for Vaughn to hold on. Burchill charged at Slash...but Slash ducked, and backdropped Burchill out for the first elimination! Things slowed down until the buzzer marked the entrance of number 5...ABYSS! The big man's entrance popped the crowd...and he immediately went to work on the remaining three opponents. Quickly all three were laid out, as Abyss continued to hit high impact move after high impact move on them all. Number 6 was K-Ness, who ran straight into trouble from Abyss too. Abyss took him out, before effortlessly throwing out Slash. Abyss dominated over Dupree, while K-Ness and Vaughn brawled...until Christopher Daniels made his entrance at number seven. He went right after Abyss...causing the other three men to join him in a four on one attempt on Abyss. Eventually they tried to eliminate Abyss, but he escaped, shoving away everyone...before tossing K-Ness over the top rope. The remaining three joined in again on the beating...until number 8 made his entrance, Kevin Northcutt, of course an ally of Abyss. He helped out the big man, and they teamed up to dominate the other men. Vaughn and Northcutt got into a heated brawl near the roped, as meanwhile Abyss again was attacked by Daniels and Dupree. Both of those men had to avoid elimination before the debuting Takehiro Murahama entered at number nine. His entrance with a springboard dropkick was a rather 'unorthodox' one. As the time ticked away, another assault began on Abyss...this time, Northcutt wasn't around to help out. Abyss slowly fought off all the guys going after him...but as soon as he got free, Daniels grabbed a leg and tipped him...AND ELIMINATED ABYSS!!! Abyss got escorted back, looking extremely angry of course, as John Hennigan entered at number 10; Vaughn reaching the 12 minute mark in the process. The remaining six men brawled through the next two minutes, as Sonny Saiki entered in at number 11! Saiki went straight for Dupree, as Daniels found himself on the end of Northcutt's offense. Another favourite Doug Basham came in at number twelve, as Daniels tried to oust Kevin Northcutt. There were no eliminations between then and the entrance of number thirteen Sinn...or between then and David Young entering at fourteen. Now ten men filled the ring, causing the match to degenerate into a brawl. The buzzer went for 15, the halfway mark...and after a brief pause Erik Watts limped out to make his entrance. Just as he rolled in, David Young managed to clothesline Sinn over the top to the floor, again leaving ten men. Watts got in...and EXPLODED on Northcutt. He continued to concentrate on Northcutt, as brawls continued around the ring. Shark Boy made a popular entrance at number 16. Meanwhile, Rene Dupree managed to duck a spin kick, and hiptoss John Hennigan out of the match. From there the match slowed down again...Chris Vaughn making it to twenty eight minutes in the ring, and showing the effects. Basham threw Watts over the top, only for Watts to hold on. Finally the two minutes where up, and the buzzer went for number 17... DUSTY RHODES!!! THE MYSTERY ENTRANT. The fans went LOCO as Dusty rolled in, giving out Bionic Elbows to everyone who came near him. A big Dusty chant started up...until Basham caught him from behind. Kid Kash came out next, quickly helping out Northcutt against Watts. Watts however rallied back after a minute or so, knocking both TNA Management members down before backdropping the charging Shark Boy HIGH over the top! Eleven men now remained in the ring, Sonjay Dutt entering at 19 to make it twelve. The luckier draws slowly started to enter now, Julio Dinero coming in a number twenty. Dusty was next to be teamed up on, Daniels, Dupree and Vaughn almost getting him out. Meanwhile Watts and Kash suddenly fell to the floor, beginning a brawl on the outside. Northcutt followed out to help, Dusty going out to help Watts. That left eight men actually in the ring to greet the twenty first entrant...BARRY WINDHAM! The legend rolled in, and went to work on everyone standing. As Windham went to work, Christopher Daniels threw David Young up and over the top...Young hung on, but got dropkicked off the apron. The four men on the outside made their way back in eventually, as The Latin Lover came in at twenty two. As soon as Dusty rolled in, he was attacked by Vaughn and Dupree. He nailed Vaughn with the Bionic Elbow...and then nailed Dupree, the force sending Rene Dupree staggering up and out of the ring. Exhaustion began to set in, the number two entrant Chris Vaughn reaching 30 minutes plus, Daniels surpassing the twenty five minute mark. Nate Webb came in at number twenty three...but only managed to last twenty three seconds, before Kevin Northcutt threw him out, making it a bad night for Nate Webb. Sonny Saiki suddenly came into view...hiding under the ropes, avoiding any contact, as he had been for most of his time in the ring. Basham and Daniels worked over Rhodes, Kash and Watts brawling...as RON KILLINGS suddenly came out at number 24, to a huge roar from the crowd. Killings fought off Vaughn and Daniels, before finding Saiki and dragging him into the centre of the ring. Saiki and Killings suddenly became the focus of the match, as they brawled heatedly. Saiki got the advantage briefly, but then walked into a crescent kick...allowing Watts to chuck Sonny Saiki out of the ring!!! Killings followed out through the ropes, and the brawl continued on the outside until Saiki managed to run off...Killings rolling back in to be met by Basham. Chris Divine entered at number 25, just as Chris Daniels NEARLY eliminated Kevin Northcutt. Kash and Watts continued to brawl in one corner, as now fourteen men resided in the ring, which of course meant the match was a total brawl. Michael Shane entered in the twenty sixth position, going straight after Killings who was suddenly the focus of most attacks. Dusty began to show signs of fatigue, as he threw some elbows at Kash and then Northcutt. Dusty and Northcutt then became tangled up together in the ropes, as Christopher Daniels ran over...AND DUMPED OUT DUSTY RHODES!!! Rhodes couldn't believe it, as Daniels had eliminated ANOTHER favourite. Again the brawling commenced between the remaining fourteen men, as the fifteenth man in the ring entered...lucky number twenty seven...AND IT WAS RAVEN!!! The crowd exploded, as Raven rolled in...EVENFLOW TO KASH!!! Chris Vaughn, having made it to fifty one minutes an a couple of second was then finally dumped out, courtesy of Christopher Daniels. Windham meanwhile tried to go after Raven...kick, wham...EVENFLOW! Raven started to dominate. Legend made his entrance at number 28 which took TNA Management's representation to three. Killings nearly got eliminated by Murahama, but managed to skin the cat...headscissoring Murahama over the top, but the Japanese star held on too. Matt Cappotelli entered in at twenty nine, further cluttering the ring. Then, in came number 30, which was of course the big man Matt Morgan. Now, with all thirty men entered into the Quest For The Gold, seventeen men were left in the ring! That's a damn lot of people...and it showed. It didn't take long after Windham to LARIAT Erik Watts up and over the top. A couple of second later Matt Morgan found himself flying over the top rope from Doug Basham. That cut the field down slightly, and it nearly became more cut down...only for Killings to hang onto the ropes from Kash's throw. A minute or so later Legend suddenly sprang into life, eliminating Julio Dinero and Chris Divine in quick succession. Killings again had to hold on to the ropes to save himself, this time from Barry Windham's clothesline...as Chris Daniels found himself in trouble from The Latin Lover and Kevin Northcutt. As Daniels struggled to escape, Sonjay Dutt came over and tipped The Latin Lover over the ropes and eventually to the floor. Twelve men left now, which allowed a little more room for manuever. Raven began to begin brawling with Basham furiously. A minute or so later, Chris Daniels tipped Kevin Northcutt over the top rope and onto the apron, getting taken out by Cappotelli before he could finish the job. It didn't matter however, as a disorientated Legend staggered over, bumping into Northcutt without realising...and Kevin Northcutt fell to the outside. Legend was shocked when he realised he'd eliminated his tag team partner, Northcutt unsurprisingly unhappy too. Through the crowd of people Windham managed to lariat Basham out of his boots, while Chris Daniels began to attack Killings. A minute or so more brawling followed, before Cappotelli tried to throw Basham out...Basham reversed though...as on the other side of the ring, Ron Killings threw Christopher Daniels out, ending his magnificent run! Matt Cappotelli meanwhile flew over the top, and just nine men remained. Quite a while of brawling passed, Dutt and Murahama managing to find space to hit some crowd popping moves. Doug Basham nearly eliminated Kid Kash, while Sonjay Dutt came close to dumping out Killings. Barry Windham came under fire from Dutt, Murahama, Kash and Legend as they tried to eliminate the legend...however, Windham fought them all off. Dutt went flying over the top, but he held on. However, Doug Basham wasn't so lucky...he ran towards Windham, but he ducked a clothesline and Lariated Doug Basham over the top rope!!! Basham however grabbed a steel chair, rolled back in and SMACKED Windham with the chair! Basham finally got escorted out, as Windham was now busted open. While this was going on, Kash stomped away on Ron Killings...as Legend came over to help. Kash pulled Killings up and held his arms behind him. Legend backed up, but Killings ducked...AND LEGEND CLOTHESLINED KID KASH OVER THE TOP!!! Legend eliminated his second ally of the night! Seven men remain; Windham, Legend, Dutt, Raven, Killings, Murahama and Michael Shane. Raven and Legend brawl, as Windham battled Dutt and Murahama, and Killings brawled with Shane. Just as Windham fought off the two X-Divisioners, Killings ran over and tipped him over the top, but Windham managed to escape and roll in, still bleeding heavily. Dutt and Murahama meanwhile turned on each other, Dutt going to the top but Murahama going up with him! Both men got to the top in a dangerous position, exchanging right hands. Murahama suddenly lost his footing slightly...and got shoved to the side...Takehiro Murahama flying to the floor! Dutt quickly hit a crossbody on Shane for good measure. Shane groggily got up from that...and clotheslined over the ropes by Raven! Michael Shane is gone! Raven quickly then turned around...and Evenflowed Dutt VICIOUSLY! Raven dragged Dutt up and threw him over the top rope...Dutt held on somehow, as Ron Killings came from behind...AND DUMPED OUT RAVEN!!!!! The crowd can't believe it, they thought Raven was winning this one! As Raven tries to get over the elimination, Windham charges forward. Killings dives out of the way...as Windham hits a boot and sends Sonjay Dutt out to the floor! And we're down to three! Ron Killings, Legend and Barry Windham! Legend and Killings brawl, as Windham steps in and knocks both men down with right hands. Windham begins to dominate...throwing Killings over the ropes...he teeters, as Windham tries to finish the job, but Killings hooks the ropes and pulls himself in. Legend quickly nails Windham, and a surprising alliance between Legend and Killings forms. The tide turns when Windham ducks a double clothesline...and nails one of his own. Killings gets a big boot...as does Legend, which sends the TNA Management man stumbling over the ropes. He teeters for a moment, before Windham shoves Legend over the top rope! Killings and Windham are left! Killings tries to brawl with Windham, but gets knocked down each time. Clothesline by Windham sends Killings for a flip. Windham goes to the top rope and hits a flying elbow drop, to a big cheer from the crowd! However, Windham can't dump Killings out. As Killings collapses towards the ropes Windham waits...and goes for a big boot. Killings moves, and Windham crotches himself across the top rope! Standing dropkick...BUT BARRY HANGS ON! Widham tries to suplex Killings out, but he blocks and lands on the apron. Boot from Killings, he enters the ring again...irish whip sends Windham into the ring post! Barry comes back and goes for a clothesline, but Killings ducks it...dropkick...BARRY'S GONE!!! BARRY WINDHAM IS ELIMINATED! KILLINGS WINS!!! Winner and number one contender for Nothing Left To Lose: Ron Killings in 57:49 * (60, 50, 70) Notes: Christopher Daniels debuted his new gimmick (Evil Preacher), it got a positive response. Erik Watts is losing overness because of his weak gimmick Tenay- What an effort from Ron Killings! Killings survives, and will get another NWA World Title shot...the former champion, who could easily have won the title last night survives to win the Quest For The Gold! West- You have to take your hat off to Ron Killings. A magnificent victory... Tenay- Amazing. Ron Killings overcame twenty nine men, and now he goes on to "Nothing Left To Lose", and will get himself an NWA World Title shot! Scott Hudson is backstage once more, this time with the number one contender AJ Styles. Hudson- Well AJ, we're moments away from the culmination of your personal Quest For The Gold. Ron Killings awaits next month, but if you want to be the man to face him, you have got to defeat the reigning champion himself Jeff Jarrett. You've beaten Jeff Jarrett before...but he was the man who took the belt from you. It's time to settle the score... Styles- You bring up a good point Scott. It was Jeff Jarrett who took that NWA World Championship belt from around my waist. You know Jeff, since that day you took the belt I've been waiting for the opportunity to meet you one on one, man to man one more time to settle this score between us. And with every sneak attack, every belt shot, every obstacle put before me...all you've done is make me even more determined to settle this score, and take back my belt. So Jarrett...tonight, when you're looking across the ring from me and hearing this Nashville crowd chanting my name...I want you to look down at that belt and I want you to say your last goodbyes. Take a long look at everything you fought for to gain. And then look at me. When you do that I want to realise just what you've gotten yourself into. This is beyond the belt now. This is personal. Which is why I'm going to personally enjoy tearing you apart...and taking back my title. OR: 87 The scene suddenly cuts to the commotion of Ron Killings' locker room, where he is celebrating his Quest For The Gold victory with a number of the face roster members there to congratulate him...as Goldylocks tries to get to Killings, having to barge past a number of wrestler to do so. Goldylocks- Ron! Ron...congratulation on you... Killings cuts Goldylocks off...with a kiss!!! As he releases Goldylocks, she instantly forgets about an interview and stands looking dumbfounded. Suddenly the commotion starts to die down, as barging through the sea of people comes Barry Windham, his face covered in dried blood as he walks over and goes face to face with Killings, tension filling the room. Windham and Killings stare at each other...before Windham extends a hand, Killings shaking it. Windham- You make sure you kick ass and take that belt. Killings- I intend to. Windham nods before turning away and slowly leaving the room, still unable to hide the look of disappointment on his face. Meanwhile the celebration continues behind him. OR: 85 Notes: Ron Killings gained overness from this segment Tenay- A great show of respect from Barry Windham, a show of respect which is thoroughly deserved. West- Coming from a guy like Barry Windham, that's a big show of respect. Tenay- Well...Ron Killings is set to meet the NWA Champion at "Nothing Left To Lose" next month...but who will be the champion. who will be champion after tonight? Will it be Jeff Jarrett, or will AJ Styles embark on his second NWA World Title reign? West- I can't bet against the champion. He's got too much on his side. Tenay- Well, I wouldn't bet against AJ Styles...I feel tonight is his night. ***MAIN EVENT*** NWA World Heavyweight Championship 'The Chosen One' Jeff Jarrett © vs 'The Phenomenon' AJ Styles Worthy of it's main event billing, this one was heated and at the same time of high quality. Jarrett refused to show Styles the belt at the beginning of the match, which is customary, causing AJ to kick the brawl off early. It fell to the outside of the ring and even into the crowd for a brief while, all this just heating the crowd more. Back inside, Jarrett focused on the knee...the same knee Daniels worked over last night. Doing a good job of working the knee, Jarrett then locked on the figure four leglock! Styles had to fight it, and somehow got to the ropes after a minute and a half in the hold. Angry now, Jarrett went after the knee with even more ferocity, hitting two dragon screws before Styles countered a third with a modified shining wizard. Styles got a nearfall from that, and then rallied back on the one leg. Styles wiped Jarrett out with a plancha on the outside, and hit a snap DDT back in the ring. Jarrett managed to catch a thumb to the eye and hit The Stroke, before covering Styles...1...2....STYLES KICKED OUT! Jarrett couldn't believe it, and went for the figure four again. Styles shoved him off and got a two from the resulting roll-up. Styles then hoisted Jarrett onto the buckles, so he could put Jarrett in Styles Clash position. Jarrett managed to free himself though, and lock the figure four back on. Styles fought still though, and got to the ropes again. This time Styles got back up, but missed a flying forearm and wiped out referee Mark Johnson. Jarrett suddenly pulled some brass knux out of his trunks, and knocked Styles out...placing them in Styles' trunks just incase, before reviving the referee. Quickly Jarrett pulled Styles up and hit the Stroke for the second time, hooking the leg for the...1...2......and 3! The crowd booed wildly, some of them throwing bits of paper and trash at Jarrett as he quickly grabbed his NWA Title and escaped up the rampway. Scuttling off, Jarrett made sure he gets the hell out of the arena as quickly as possible, as meanwhile Styles begins to come to in the ring. Winner and still NWA World Champion: Jeff Jarrett by pinfall in 22:47 *** (84, 86, 80) Notes: The NWA World Heavyweight title has gained in image Tenay- God damn it...Jarrett stole the damn match again! Jarrett used brass knuckles which went undetected by the referee. West- It got him the title... Tenay- That's no reason to use brass knuckles to win a match. Jarrett couldn't win fairly, so he had to use a weapon. A weapon. AJ Styles got screwed! West- I'm not saying it's fair Mike. I'm just saying, it's what Jarrett did to win. Tenay- Well, Jeff Jarrett is still the NWA Champion for now...will he be by "Nothing Left To Lose" where Ron Killings will go for the NWA World Title. This was Quest For The Gold...we'll see you Saturday night on Urban America for XPlosion...and the Wednesday night afterwards, WGN Superstation, TotalNonstop TV. Goodbye from Nashville! OR: 77- Well, considering this was only a four match card, it was great. Besides the solid segments, AMW/Kyo Dai pulled out a considerably better match than their last meeting, Sabin versus London was awesome and Jarrett/Styles was unsurprisingly great. On the bad side, the Quest For The Gold Match could have been a lot worse, but got overcrowded and let things down slightly. And the crowd were a little indifferent apart from the main event...but it wasn't enough to spoil the show. Attendance: 9,001 Buyrate: 0.72

What will be the Main event at WM?

Whatever Vince wants it to be. Seriously. I mean, speculation is exactly that...speculation. Between now and then the fans could go ape for an Eddie/Angle fued to the point Vince has to put that last. Goldberg could quit between now and then and screw up plans. Same for Benoit. Who knows...there's still two months to go. Saying that, Benoit's match SHOULD go on last with the Rumble stip. But maybe Brock will find a loophole in the contract.

Ok, I read somewhere that the original ending to the Taker vs Taker match was different from the actual one. This...has to be wrong, right? "Thank goodness the Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart Cage Match had run long: the original plan for the finish (which had to be scrapped due to time constraints) called for the two 'Takers to lock up in a test of strength. Then the lights were scheduled to go out, and lightning would strike the ring, causing the two 'Phenoms' to become one." Now, usually I wouldn't believe it...but it's from a reliable magazine, and it's not out of the realms of Taker gimmick possibility. But still...could you imagine if this was true and this happened. Good god...

Post Event News Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles were said to be delighted at finally getting their match. They had been requesting the match for a while now, and we finally had the right financial situation to use open contracted wrestlers like Daniels...they certainly didn't let us down. Not sure what the problem with the show was. It seems the pre-PPV day element of the show made the show look worse than it really was. Anyway, besides that, we were very happy with the way the matches went. No more news on PWI and TNA's possible merger yet. McManus and Jarrett are still in talks, and the possibilities are still being ironed out. Thankfully, the result of the Quest For The Gold Match hasn't been leaked out to the internet...mainly because most of the roster and staff don't know yet. Only a select few people have been allowed to know the result of the match, everyone else will be told during the show to make sure of no-one leaking out the result. We've seen it happen with the Benoit/Royal Rumble situation earlier in the year, and didn't want that to happen with us. The match really is a pick'em, with the favourites including Chris Daniels, Abyss, Ron Killings, Kid Kash, Barry Windham, Raven, Doug Basham and a very special legendary entrant who's name we won't announce.

NWA:TNA XPlosion 27th March 2004 Live from the TNA Asylum, in Nashville Tennessee Commentators: ‘The Professor’ Mike Tenay and ‘TNA Chief Executive’ Don Callis Before the opening XPlosion video is played, another video begins showing some clips of former NWA star Barry Windham. With Vince owning all the NWA/WCW video rights, it's all MLW clips or newly recorded NWA:TNA house show clips. Anyway, it ends with a clip of Barry Windham nailing Legend with a big lariat, before coming up with the words "You can't spell Windham without N W and A!"...before informing us Windham makes his debut tommorow night in the Quest For The Gold. OR: 58 The pyro hits, and we're live for XPlosion for the last time this month. Tenay and Callis once more are at ringside, ready for action. Tenay- Welcome to NWA:TNA XPlosion...just one day away from Quest For The Gold, and what about that Don...Barry Windham back in the NWA! Callis- That's big Mike...no doubt. But speaking of big, what about tonight... Tenay- The face of Quest For The Gold could be changed tonight, as Ron Killings challenges Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Title. Callis- Which is totally unfair. Tenay- Why? AJ Styles is in action too...he's got to face Chris Daniels. Callis- He doesn't have to defend his World Title two nights in a row though does he! Tag Team Match Team Tough Enough (John Hennigan and Matt Cappotelli) vs 'HB2K4' Michael Shane and Julio Dinero w/Traci and James Mitchell Well, it was a decent start to the show...nothing special. Michael Shane's been given the less obvious nickname of 'HB2K4'. That may not be a good thing. Hell, look what happened to the last guy with that type of nickname (Shannon Moore). A nice little X-Division style tag match, Hennigan and Cappotelli showed little signs of the Hardyz in their style and look. Shane and Dinero used the strength advantage to gain a brief advantage, but this was a very even match. After all hell predictably broke loose, Matt went to the top and nailed the flying elbo drop on Dinero. Michael Shane broke the count at two, and held Matt in place from Dinero. He went for a superkick, but missed, hitting Shane! John took out Dinero, as meanwhile Matt went back up top and hit the big elbow to Shane and got the 3 count! As John and Matt left with the victory, Julio Dinero rolled back into the ring to check on Shane. Shane however slapped the taste out of Dinero's mouth, and then shoved James Mitchell down! He then left with Traci on his arm, as Dinero watched on... Winners: Team Tough Enough by pinfall in 6:42 ** (58, 52, 79) The scene quickly cuts to a pre-recorded segment, where all 5 wrestling members of the TNA Management are gathered in the backstage area. It seems an arguement is breaking out between them, Jarrett stuck in the middle trying to stop it. Eventually, Don Callis steps into view carrying four plastic balls in his hands, his presence causing them to stop. Callis- That damn Watts... Jarrett- What? Callis- He made me draw these just like everyone else! The discontented murmur goes up amongst the group. Kash- So, which number have I got? Did you get thirty? Legend- Hey! Even if he did, who says you should get thirty? Callis- Guys! I don't know what numbers I got. Look...I don't want any arguements, and I don't want to treat anyone unfairly. So I'm not going to open them. You choose from me one each...whatever number you get, that's it. I don't want any of you guys wanting to swap numbers or anything... All four murmur...before Kash grabs one of the balls. The other three take their numbers, and all open up the balls to see what their numbers are. Kash and Northcutt instantly look a little disheartened, while Abyss nods to himself and Legend smiles broadly. Kash quickly sneaks a look at Legend's number, sighing as he sees it. Kash- You lucky...I don't believe this. Northcutt- Hey, it could be worse. Look at my number! Kash does, and laughs. Kash- Yeah, you're right...it could be worse! Legend- Hey big man...what number did you get? Abyss grunts, showing his number to the others as they raise their eyebrows in surprise. Kash- You're happy about that!?! Callis- Don't worry about the big man. That's no sweat for him. Listen...you all know the deal right. All for one, and one for all. You two are close enough to team up...and by the time it comes to the end, I want all four of you to be left. Jarrett- That way, I don't have to defend my title at Nothing Left To Lose. You boys remember that. I've gotta go Don...match to prepare for. Callis- Sure thing Champ. Jarrett walks off, as the other TNA Management guys watch on. Kash- What does he mean he doesn't have to defend? Callis- Relax...we'll work something out... OR: 85 Notes: Don Callis gained overness from this segment Callis- Who the hell recorded that? Why was that shown without my knowledge? Tenay- Who knows. So...what number did Abyss get then? Callis- None of your damn business! Just get on with the show! 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels vs 'The Phenomenon' AJ Styles Wow. A fantastic match, as expected. It might have been even better if Styles didn't have to hold back, knowing he had a match the next night. Both men entered a brilliant counterfest for the opening exchanges of the match, bringing the crowd to their feet on more than one occassion. Daniels it was who took the first advantage, working over Styles' knee through the match. Styles, despite his one bad leg, still managed to hit some impressive aerial moves at times, but concentrated mostly on high impact moves. As the match got to the fourteen minute mark, Styles went for the Styles Clash finally. Daniels managed to free an arm though, and counter out into an ankle lock and grapevine. Styles reached the ropes though. Again Styles fought back, the crowd solidly on his side...but suddenly, booing as the World Champion strolled down the rampway. Styles got distracted, and that allowed Daniels to clip Styles' knee. Daniels then caught the hobbling Styles, and nailed the to get a surprise win! Jarrett quickly rolled in after the match, and proceeded to stomp away on Styles' injured knee. Viciously he attacked the number one contender, until Ron Killings' music finally hit. Jarrett quickly stopped, as Killings ran in and started to attack Jarrett, getting the main event underway! Winner: Christopher Daniels by pinfall in 14:28 ****1/2 (79, 76, 100) Notes: Christopher Daniels is losing overness because of his weak gimmick ***MAIN EVENT*** NWA World Heavyweight Championship Jeff Jarrett © vs 'The Truth' Ron Killings Styles was quickly carried out by referees, as Killings and Jarrett brawled to began. The crowd were red hot from the beginning, as Killings and Jarrett put on another fantastic match. Jarrett was distracted early by Styles being carried away, and Killings got a nearfall off a roll-up. The match spilled to the outside where Jarrett got the advantage, driving Killings into first the barricade and then the ring post in quick succession. Back inside Killings fought back, but Jarrett chopblocked out the knee and went to work. Much like the previous match Jarrett focused on the knees, limiting Killings' attacks. However, with the crowd behind him Killings escaped a figure four, and fought back. After Jarrett ran into the turnbuckles, Killings got a DEATHLY close nearfall from an incredible running DVD, the crowd fulling believing that Killings had won. Jarrett managed to hit a lowblow later on, before AJ Styles suddenly came hobbling back out from the back with a steel chair. Styles rolled in...and SMACKED Jarrett with the chair, causing Mark Johnson to call for the DQ! As Styles reeled back with the chair again, Jarrett suddenly backtracked, sliding out of the ring and very quickly retreating up the ramp and to the back. The crowd booed Jarrett, as meanwhile Styles and Killings shook hands in the ring. Winner and still NWA World Champion: Jeff Jarrett by disqualification in 15:39 ***1/2 (75, 82, 86) Notes: The NWA World Heavyweight title has gained in image Tenay- Oh my...this war between Jeff Jarrett and Ron Killings just heated right the heck up! Callis- This is ridiculous Tenay. Styles tried to take Jarrett out before tommorow night with that chair. Thank goodness he managed to get away! Tenay- Hey, what's good for the goose is good for the gander Don. Callis- Jarrett didn't have to use a steel chair though! Tenay- Well, this arguement could go on all night...but we've got to leave you now. Join us tommorow night live on Pay Per View...Quest For The Gold, Jarrett versus Styles and the 30 man Quest For The Gold Match...we'll see you tommorow night! OR: 71- Would have been better, but the whole show seemed 'off'. Three great matches, one of which the best match of the big two companies this month and last. But the show seemed worse than it really was...if that makes sense. Attendance: 3009 T.V Rating : 0.13 Typical. The one show I decide to put on Killings/Jarrett and Styles/Daniels, that bug kicks in. Would have had two 80 plus segments otherwise. Oh well. PPV card coming in a little while, with the show to be up as soon as possible.

Bumping this because I just found my clipped video of this with Solie and Bill Apter presenting it. Weird seeing them fighting on grass, with everybody in the stands while 3/4s of the actual ground level not being used. I suppose the copters and stuff were to blame. Oh, and Magnum did pin Kamala just for clarification.

    Smackdown Spoilers???

Well, he came through OVW so I suppose he was taught the basics. Seems way to small for WWE standards, which is weird. But, hey, if he starts wrestling with that wig I'll mark for him. Brock and his mexican dance=classicly bad. Chavo Senior's pimping pink hat was better though. No Way Out is beginning to look slightly craptacular, which judging by the Rumble card is actually a good sign.

Post Event News Cornette was successfully turned…his debut was unsurprisingly greeted with face reactions, what with his legendary status. However, the plan was to have Cornette as a heel. Luckily, the original face reaction wore off...possibly by the association with Basham. Legend has proven to be a fantastic wrestler...his recent drive and determination will be rewarded soon with more wins we expect. Two more signings on the eve of Quest For The Gold. Nate Webb has signed an open contract for $14,000, which may be a temporary deal, depending on Webb's conduct and performance and the like. And secondly young Chris Divine has been snapped up to a written contract, the deal being worth $16,000 a month. Divine's signing went down well with The Amazing Red for one, who was pleased at his friend getting a contract...a team of the two may be the route we go down. Now, the BIG news...or rumour to be more precise. It's thought that Pro Wrestling Iron have landed themselves in financial trouble. Talks of an NWA takover have been running rife recently after a meeting between Jerry Jarrett and PWI owner Andrew McManus. The 'deal' is very much is in the rumour stage. But, if it does go ahead, tentative plans for a PWI/TNA series of matches are being thrown around to debut some of the superstars who would retain their jobs. More news on this as it comes.

    A ROH diary.

I feel for you. I lost 6 guys from my Quest For The Gold match, all of them believable winners or at the very least 'underdogs.' If it wasn't Ring Of Honor I'd suggest an injury angle on one of those two to build a new match...but, ROH wouldn't do that. Anyway, great stuff still. Keep up the good work.
