-15/10- Two More Matches Added To All Hallows! The card for SWF All Hallows is beginning to shape up as two more matches have officially been announced by the Commissioner's Office this evening. The first will see new New Blood Champion, "The Mad Scientist Of The Mat" Michael Alexander making his first defence of the rookies title. Knowing full-well that three successful defences of the title entitles you to a shot at whichever SWF championship you so choose, Alexander is keen to get the ball rolling. His opponent on October 31st will be Leon Sharpe, who has his eyes set on only one title at the moment, that being the New Blood. And in the second, Halloween Hardcore will come to La La Land! In the rich tradition of the SWF, there just HAD to be some sort of crazy stipulation match on the All Hallows card. And Landon Maddix has not disappointed. With the Hardcore Gamers Championship dormant for the time being, two of the SWF's most hardcore will go at it with their pride and reputations at stake, as Dace Night faces The Insane Luchador!

~THE SWF SMARKWIRE!~ -14/10- The SWF to return to action October 31st; All Hallows! With (some of) Genesis in the books, the SWF now looks ahead to a new future under it's new Commissioner, now former SWF competitor Landon "La Cucaracha" Maddix! And the new regime's first matter of business will be October 31st, from Los Angeles, California. "What better time for the SWF to rise from the dead than Halloween?" the new Commissioner asked SWF.com. "And what better time to have a party? We're looking forward to getting underway and we're busy sorting out arrangements, talking to talent, assuring them of the way ahead. Tom Flesher's management technique left a lot to be desired. The SWF roster can trust me, there will be no bias from me. I've had a history with the majority of the wrestlers in my time in the company but I vow to be nothing but fair and impartial to all, no matter our past." And while the new Commissioner won't be able to attend in person, his assistant co-commissioner Megan Skye will be on hand to make sure the show runs smoothly. "Let's face it, she's the brains of the operation." admits Landon. "I'll be busy using the brawn elsewhere. But I'll be in regular contact with her throughout the night and I'll keeping up with who's pulling their weight and who isn't. There'll be no half-measures in my SWF. Sorry, our SWF. Edit that last bit out. " Stay tuned to SWF.com for more updates on All Hallows! -14/10- First Match Announced For All Hallows; A re-Genesis? The main-event for the SWF's upcoming All Hallows event has just been announced and it will feature the two men who battled it out in the main-event of Genesis VIII this past week. New SWF World Heavyweight Champion Toxxic will be defending his other piece of championship gold, the SWF World Tag Team Championship, alongside fellow Revolution Zero member Austin Sly. Their opponents? The five-time former SWF Tag Team Champions themselves, Wild and Dangerous! They had Five On It, now can they make it Six Of The Best?
-
Well, certain people just un-wrote themselves out of some opportunities for the next show. Good start guys. Let this serve as a notice, me and Toxx are pretty bitter people to begin with and sitting up into the early hours running things won't improve our moods. So, if there's a repeat of this shit under our watch, it won't go down well. Case in point- Akira's not booked on our first card. Or second. Or... well, you get the point.

I've got someone this week Alf. Expect a PM later tonight. Leon Rodez vs. Biff Atlas

On a similar note, I wasn't watching RAW around that time. Did they drop any actual hints that the mystery guy in the tournament would be Shawn Michaels or was it a case of everybody jumping to the natural conclusion?

Is anybody able to upload onto Sendspace as well as Megaupload? No specific requests (except maybe the Nigel/Quack/Hero/Claudio 4-Way), just a question. I tend to use my PSP for downloading and can't seem to use Megaupload on there. Thanks for that link with the full shows though Cheesala. That dark match/Shotgun battle royal is fun. Sound and picture are nothing special but it's fun hearing Cornette and either Kelly or Cole 'commentating' off mic.

Samoa Joe to debut in NOAH
King Cucaracha replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
Joe was rumoured to be on that agreement that he could come back on special occassions. Whether that was the case or not, I don't know. But this was all before the PPV announcement, which helped lead to TNA blocking their workers from working with ROH (and PWG), so any agreement that there may have been would have become null and void from then on. I think. -
You know, a real longshot, it could be Jericho leading The Hart Foundation 2.0. He's not a Hart. And he's only Canadian when WWE want him to be. But, ya know, close enough.

ROH Boston/Jersey Weekend (now with results)
King Cucaracha replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
I'm still not down with all these impromptu matches on the PPV tapings. I count 3 this time around. Hardly 'classic ROH booking' (except for the original Unscripted... *shudders*), it's basically TV booking, RAW, Nitro, whatever. I understand they can't do these angles on an actual TV show to build matches but it still doesn't seem right. -

Most Important/Influential Matches of All Time
King Cucaracha replied to Diamonddust's topic in General Wrestling
Rocky Maivia beating Hunter Heart Helmsey for the IC Title in 97. Had that not happened, would Die Rocky Die have occured? Would The Rock have ever been born? HHH/HBK vs. LOD. The Outlaws come out and join in the beatdown, foreshadowing the new D-X that'd become such a big part of the WWF. -

That's cracking, that. Big Daddy Mabel is certainly no Big Daddy I. EA - SY! EA - SY! EA - SY! I can't be the only one who was amused by references to the Punjabi Prison this week on Smackdown, being a 'chamber of horrors'. Irony or incredible foreshadowing?

King Cucaracha replied to Patty O'Green's topic in Brandon Truitt
My stuff IS coming, as soon as I can find the memory stick I saved it on. If not I'll re-type it for tommorrow, which'll piss me off to no end but has to be done. Sorry. -
Okay, hate to do this but I'm going to need a day's extension if possible. I've been busy finalising SWF plans and my writing time kinda disappeared as a result. Opening promo is needed and something before Zack's match, plus one other spot for something else.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
King Cucaracha replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, a one night 16 man might be a stretch. Back in the Attitude era it worked okay (well, 14 man) because the average length of matches was so much shorter anyway. And the only other was at a WrestleMania. I'm not buying this Jeff Hardy thing like everybody else on here apparantly is, but a tournament would be a great way to give him a quick career boost. Have Jeff make a run through the tournament to the semis, beat a couple of big names along the way. I don't buy him as a WWE Champion but he's a perfect underdog challenger. Whether they'd be able to match the historic Savage win or the awesome night-long storyline that was SS '98, I don't know. I'm just not a fan of the ideology of the vacant belt just going on the line in a one-off match, without those involved at least being direct challengers before the belt got vacated. -
I agree with what you said about the backstage stuff. This one kinda varies from show to show though. I'm not sure where Driven was recorded (and am too bone idle to go look it up right now) but the venues obviously differ. Chicago Ridge is one of the better venues size-wise. Edison is a decent size too. I think with the Hammerstein, and a couple of others, it's more about character than size. On the Claudio/Sydal rana -> Code Red spot, is that the first time Claudio's busted it out in ROH?

WWE General Discussion - October 2007
King Cucaracha replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Joshi has been flat for awhile, at least for me. The best woman's wrestling is SHIMMER. I'd argue that Sara Del Ray (Danielson disciple) is the top female worker. As someone who watches a lot of women's wrestling, I'd say Daizee Haze would be the best in the world right now. I like Sara too. Maybe Sara's the best wrestler, but Daizee is a better worker, if that makes sense. Can work the crowd better. I'm a big big fan of MsChif too. -
Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
King Cucaracha replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
You know what I'd wish they would do. Build up a one-night tournament for the title for Survivor Series. Whether they could find 16 men able to move all of their limbs on the RAW roster is debatable but if there's anything that'd build interest in the title scene, it could be that. Use the time between No Mercy and Survivor Series to give some guys like Hardy and Benjamin some credibility, make it seem like they had a shot. You could keep the Smackdown feuds going with a SS Rules Match, ECW could have a multi-man too. Or, if need be, just have a cross-brand tournament. Been nine years almost, so why not? EDIT: Val Venis, 45.21% -
I always prefer Bret/Perfect from KOTR '93 to their Summerslam match. That's the one that comes to mind.
-
The Harts vs. The Quebecers from Rumble '94, as far as referee stoppages goes it was one of the better ones and it was the lead in to a great feud. And on the Harts note, I always have a soft-spot for the ending to the Backlund/Bret I Quit Match at Survivor Series. Owen's performance always cracks me up and Stu and Helen, for outside personalities, played their well too. Plus the backing it gave Owen as a heel.

I'll second that.

Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
King Cucaracha replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
I heard beginning of 2008 somewhere, but I could be wrong. I knew something was up last night. At first I figured he'd dislocated the shoulder but you could tell after a while it was something muscle related. Chioda was on the earpiece a lot which was just the icing on the cake that something was up. I doubt the table spot did him any favours. Much as I was looking forward to Cena dropping the belt and am not a big fan, having him out for 6-8 months is just a catastrophic blow. Seems like with the way they're acknowledging the injury so quickly and so openly, they're maybe going to keep him on screen. There must be some way of doing the Austin route with him. Having him out of the ring for 6-8 months... well, I guess plenty would call that a blessing, but off screen for 6-8 months would be a major blow for ratings and for merchandise. And if it was from the hiptoss, I'm not 100% surprised. Cena's hiptoss is one of the ugliest moves in wrestling on a good day. -
Didn't they have the Cell once on RAW solely for a Foley interview? Before Nash/Trips?
-
Yeah, I didn't get the PM. But, coolio.
