I can't give you an official reason for the European / Hardcore title mergers but I assume the idea was that they just wanted to push one major title on a brand they felt didn't have enough talent to worry about secondary titles. If memoery serves me right, the IC title got merged into the World title because the idea was supposed to be that Lesnar had the Undisputed title on SmackDown! and the IC belt, now also merged with the European title, was Raw's top belt. HHH hated this idea and was given the World Title instead with the IC title going away until 2003 when they realized they needed midcard titles.

I miss Captain Charisma. Damn legal battles. Perhaps the whole Captain Charisma deal is what sent WWE into their insane "we own everything ever" state of mind... but probably not.

I was just reading how a dual language true uncut version of the SFII movie exists in the UK. This upsets me greatly as a Canadian.

I love WMVII. Heenan and Gorilla are super, too. I love Hennan and Monsoon's interaction during the Tenryu/Kitao vs Demolition match. "YOu'd have trouble if his name was Fred" "His name is Fred Kitao?" I've been refering to Kitao as Fred Kitao ever since. -

Yes, everything. I timed these by going to the end of the tape (not making sure it was where the event ended, not the tapes end), reweinding all the way to the beginning, then playing it until the logo came on the screen. This was fairly easy since I had a bad habbit of not rewinding my tapes once I watched them. If a tape was rewound I did the process in reverse. Why I felt the need to explain the fairly simple process of timing the length of a tape, I don't know, but the point was made, I guess. -
AndrewTS makes posts in the WWE folder but I that may be limited to the OAO threads. I'm not familiar with anything he says there, really, since a lot of threads these days disinterest me, causing me to spend more energy in the VG thread. I was pretty sure I've never seen you in there and made the assumption that thing wasn't your bag leading me to make the comments on Anya and Drew.

I like home versions of the games because they add different modes and have codes to do fatalities with one button (yeah, I suck)... plus the true arcade conversion of MKII is wicked hard. But as for arcade ports o na cheap disc, they are fun.

Lazy lazy... it's basically her DoR 2 model. Well, same outfit anyway. I also saw a picture of her wearing the title... wonder what that's all about. A women's season mode?

You Gotta Want It. I seem to recall learning about the McMahon involvement in the Fed by reading the credits in the World Wrestling Federation magazine with my cousin. It was mentioned in a column in the Detroit News that he and I read as kids every Friday, written by famed pedophile M.L. Curly.

Once again I feel compelled to point out that, unedited, WrestleMania V, not IV, is the longest "old school" WrestleMania. I used to have all the times written down of the first 10 (by WM VIII they all became streamlined to 3 hours or less, until WM XVI / 16 / 2000) but WrestleMania V was the closest to being 4 hours. Just food for thought. -
The majority of Anya(nka) and AndrewTS posts are in the Video Game folder and they definitely bring worthwhile content there. Both have roots in old school gaming and have a good grasp on the current state of games as well. AndrewTS has come off as.. let me think of the best way to say this since I like his posts... overly knowledgeable (yes that will do) and that has upset some posters like Vitamin X. While the "Comments That Don't Warrant a Thread" thread has a variety of posts, opinions, and comments, it's really the Anya (who I assumed was a she, not a he) and Andrew show. Anytime I go in there with a question, I do so knowing one or the other (in many cases both) will give me an answer that will lead to at least 5 more posts on the subject. I often find AndrewTS comes off harshly on Sony and while I'm not big on that he does so with valid reasons and facts to back up what he says, if he says anything about them at all. To quote the above statement from HTQ about Robert Barron, "I don’t always agree with what he says, but he usually can back up what he says". More often than not, I do agree though. Just though I'd add my two cents since you couldn't, no disrespect intended of course.

As expected, the last batch of comments really made my day.

I guess that is WHAT HE GETS! Now perform Cyrax's Ninjitsu Pain Killer Style Branch combo and then juggle the prima donna with the Spinkick special attack. Staying in character, Johnny seems to have miraculously come back to life! Now perform Cyrax's Style Branch combo beginning with the Sambo style, then into the Pulse Blade style, and then juggle him senseless with the Slice And Dice special attack. Maybe you actually like movies about mimes. No matter. Beat his skull anyway. Most impressive!

One thing I did dig about MKD was Ermac's fleshed out character complete with Venom "We are Ermac" style of speaking in the Konquest mode. Why does the SFAC box have a 15th Anniversay symbol on it? Released in 2004, it's my understanding that it's 17 years after SF (which as previously mentioned is being treated like a bastard child Capcom never had) and 13 years after the initial SFII. What's the story? And even if I am mistaken and thinking of the MMAC and the SFAC says "10th" on it, that number is still very wrong, only acceptable if it's 10 years since the last release of SFII (Which if memory serves would be 1994 for Super Street) but that's not really how anniversaries work.

Did the terrible DDV, the fighting game loosely based of the cartoon series, effectively kill the series, or is the demand for a next-gen beat em up not big enough for a Dragon VI?
-
Well said. GQ and I may not see eye to eye on issues but he's a really good analyst and intelligent talker. I think that sort of thing rattles people if he tries to be more active. You can only take so much "blah blah blah elitist douche HBK is the best go back to Japan" (which in fairness, I don't think anyone here really says things like that, at least that I am aware of) before you determine that posting something is just a waste of your time.

Because my memory of the Double Dragon storyline isn't good (and possibly distorted by the fact that I CAN remember some of the cartoon series where I believe they do mention the "bad brother" turning face), what is the story? My 80s memory of the NES has me thinking that one brother (let's say Billy Lee) was good and Jimmy Lee (or vice versa) was bad but changed his ways by the time Double Dragon II came out for the NES (re: by the time they made it co-op). This contradicts the fact that both brothers were playable in the arcade version.
