I came by looking to drop the link and I'm sure many others here wouldn't mind checking it out, and all the discussion is killing the suspense for the few fights I want to see (Hari vs. Overeem, Aoki vs. Alvarez) Don't we have rules about that shit? It's pretty annoying. I figured I"d be safe for at least a day or two, when this airs Stateside.

Okay, so then that's an even weirder request. Why does he HAVE to speak on the subject? Why can't he just not sign a bill if it comes to him? You're asking him to make a pre-emptive strike here, which I don't think is entirely necessary. You're criticizing him for not going out of his way here, there are a million things he could talk about but hasn't. The man isn't even in office yet! Let's criticize him based on what he does rather than what he says he'll do. I think that's fair.

It's not that simple. He has to go through a lot of hoops in the country in order to get something like that passed. Considering how the proposition in as liberal a state as California did not too long ago, it's a lot harder to pass something like this then you'd think. I think it is fair to say that with all the other far more pressing issues like the financial crisis, the war in Iraq and the lack of initiative taken by George W. on climate change, and with all their implications, that Obama would be justified focusing elsewhere before looking at gay rights.

Sonnen is on a different plain of wrestling than what Maia is used to. This showed in his fights with Filho, whose naturally stocky build lends itself well to taking down even experienced grapplers. Sonnen's standup is also very good. This fight is his to lose, which he probably will.

I'm not gonna even get into the fact that Barnett is ranked above him. Apparently beating Monson, Rizzo, and Nastula over the past two years is more impressive than Lesnar and destroying the second best heavyweight of all time in less than one.

Sherdog's rankings are up. I have no idea how beating Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson makes someone more qualified than Mir, who beat Lesnar and NOguiera. In their own fucking list, the two guys Mir beat both outrank Rothwell and Nelson. I like Arlovski, but there's no way he deserves to be the second best heavyweight in the world. Their Anti-UFC Bias is really coming out with this one.

Do you mean for? I mean, gay marriage is something that's of relatively small importance when you take into account all the issues that George W. has fucked up like education, war in Iraq, economy, budget, etc. To be disappointed and still support him in spite of the fact that he doesn't follow up on gay marriage is one thing, to support GWB through all that he's done is quite another. I don't think you can compare the two.

Huh? This is the problem with the typical American mentality of shoot first, ask questions later. The guy was doing stupid shit sure, but he didn't deserve to get fucking shot, that's the problem when everyone and their mother owns a gun. It's like the fact that we're painting him as the instigator here so he deserved some kind of retribution almost justifies the horrible thing the killer did. He was just throwing dishes around because he was pissed off, this happens a lot with people with anger problems, it doesn't mean they deserve to die or even get their ass beat, as people get hot-headed sometimes in argument and it's not really something that can be solved with even more physical violence. The most baffling part of this story is that the shooter was a former sheriff. How can someone with all that law enforcement experience be so bad at diffusing a situation? This is why it's hard to respect a guy in uniform in this day and age, because so many of them are losers that had nothing to do after high school so they decided to get a badge and a gun. I've got friends in the police force and military and it amazes me the amount of ignorance that they run into. This whole story is a classic case of dysfunctional white trash America.

I don't see how you can say Rampage looked bad. I think that's just you refusing to admit that your analysis on why Wandy would win (which probably was the same as a lot of people) was wrong. He looked crisp, patient, and picked his shots. After the first twenty seconds I knew he would win, because he was very alert in how he recognized Wanderlei's combinations and how he retaliated in turn. The guy deserves credit. He won this fight because he had a gameplan and fought smart, Wanderlei lost because he did what he always does which is fight stupid and swing for the fences. Mir looked good, but Nog looked very slow in his step too. Mir dominated the most durable HW ever and finished him in a way that no one has before, knocking him down three times. He has to be given credit for that. He looked in great shape too. I hate on the guy as much as anyone else but he deserved the win, and while Nog looked like a shot fighter, the fact is he's only ever lost to two men really, and they never stopped him like this.

That's because pussified--excuse me, unified rules don't let you knee a downed opponent. It can be confusing, because guys will drop a point (either a hand or a knee) to avoid taking a knee to the dome and it makes things difficult in terms of strategy for the guy giving the beating.

All great finishes so far. Pretty awesome card at this point, so long as the two big fights deliver. Please buttscoot to the middle of the ring Frank, that's the only way you can make this salvagable.

You'd piss off a lot of people in the process. Anyway, Matt is due for Serra in April, and Dana has all but guaranteed Florian and Thiago getting the next shot. Dana wouldn't wait around for April's result before giving Matt Hughes a shot. Also, if by some miracle BJ wins this fight, nobody in their right mind would give Hughes a shot at anything other than getting assraped till BJ decides to finish him off.
