Then I simply don't get the analogy, because Baroni recently hasn't really fought any cans.

The secret is out, I am RRR, but I word things slightly differently for this account.

Did'nt see any ads for it, still, not too shabby. As has already been said, nice KO from Swick. These are all pre taped fights to familiarize the fans with the fighters featured on the August 6th show and 20th PPV. Ivan Salaverry is in the main event for the 6th TV show but otherwise has not really been pushed by the UFC, so it's a good idea to show two fights where he really showcases his skills to the UFC crowd. It's just too bad that they can't do the same with Nathan Marquart, as even I haven't seen much of him and while I'm not an expert, I'd like to think That I know more than the average fan. I'm gonna have to go out of my way to d/l some.

Also, I can't tell if that line with Sherk and Black is sarcasm, since I don't know who Black is and I do know that Sherk has beaten Karo twice as well as being undersized yet still taking Hughes to a decision so he doesn't only fight cans.

Kawajiri is more well rounded than Gomi I'd say. To add to what he said about backing up, not only is that not an improvement it's a step backwards (Heh, pun not intended). If anything, instead of learning how to properly defend strikes and not get tagged, he'll just back up and get tagged worse. The same applies, if he fights someone wiht power, they will now tag him more and more as he steps back. You move faster going forward than backward after all. Going backwards is a sign of fear and hesitation. Parrying and sidestepping is the way to go. I'm not surprised about Chuck. He never gets the credit he deserves. I stopped arguing about that a long time ago.

I meant you'd buy it off of someone, and being the middleman I'd rake some profits, not the weed. I don't blaze. Whiskey A Go Go? Apparently one of the finer clubs in the GTA, which is down in Sauga, which is where I know you live (I think anyway). Oh and we have to come up with a different story than "I know this guy from a wrestling messageboard".

IMPORTANT PIT-RELATED INFORMATION
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
FM was banned. This can't be good for his recovery. -
Buy a whole bunch of pot and get baked. You live in the GTA so I can find someone to sell it to you and take some of that myself. Or spend lavishly at a huge bachelor party that will be going down in August for my brother. That way I can still have some of that money, and keep the chronic. Either idea is good.

When I made fun of FM before I was joking really, now I'm sad because maybe I caused all these mental problems. I just find it funny that he used to bash the mods here about how in real life they were picked on which would explain why they would be assholes and fuck shit up for other people online where they really had no business doing so. Boy, did that one blow up in your face. I honestly don't care as much, especially since the board is back, but the guy who put the money into bringing it back deserves something. I have no idea what the other guys are talking about in this thread. I'm ignorant. ENLIGHTEN ME. -
Underrated players you love
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Sports
About 30 seconds after I read this, my dad came in and told me that he was talking to the guy who lives across the street who said his daughter has a couple of friends from school over this weekend and one of them is Madden's sister. Weird. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> School as in College? Where do you live? -
Underrated players you love
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Sports
He's routinely referred to as the best Special Teams, or one of at the Very LEAST, of all time. I wouldn't call that underrated, but I'm not saying that praise is undeserved either, because he was. I kinda get what you're saying though, he's like Rudy, except he didn't suck, so maybe deceptively good or overlooked is a better term. John Madden on the NJ Devils. He grew up on the same street I did, bonus points. Kyle Turley, he'd be a perennial pro bowler if other coaches didn't hate him so much. They'd love him on their team though. Not by the media, but by a lot of fans, especially on this board, Michael Vick. I'm with everyone that hates the fellatio ESPN gives him but on this board he gets way too much hate, especially considering he's only had like two or three full seasons in the league. -
It doesn't sound unhealthy though, I doubt it's excess since he's a natural wrestler so his body is used to that sort of thing. I don't think he'd give up his quickness to bulk up, well too much of his quickness anyway. Then again, Monte Cox is a biased source for that sort of thing. I guess at the very least I'm hoping it's not too bad. If anything, maybe he drained himself in the first fight. He was cutting to 143, and looked drained at 158, which is approximately what he fought at, so it doesn't sound that difficult. When has Frank ever had to cut weight?
-
As I stated before, Jens bulked up to about 175 now, so when he cuts down to 160, his size should be within about 5 lbs of Gomi at the very least, since Gomi walks around at about 180. The fight will be different the second time. I don't understand how someone can say that size didn't matter, Gomi had about twenty pounds on Pulver in that fight, who only a month before was preparing for a boxing match at 143. Even still, Pulver is no longer a top ten LW. A guy like Kawajiri has beaten TWO top FIVE lw. No way can Gomi be ahead of him, or Shaolin or Yves who have wins against better opponents. Hansen beat him in a recent head to head ranking so I'd say that is why most put him at Number five. Well most SHOOTO fans that is. I still think Josh Thomson will break out in this tourney. He was cocky in the Yves fight and I think if he keeps his head straight he has a legit shot to take the whole thing. He's been severely underrated since that loss to Yves, I guess because it is such an amazing visual.

I've been working at a Church Camp...
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Mole's topic in No Holds Barred
I worked at a Church camp too, but the way it worked was that those of us that lead the programs that week (as our jobs changed each week) would be assigned one cabin to help out with their Bible Study thingy. It was not bad, it was alot of fun and I got paid shit too. It was the summer after I graduated high school so it was nice timing too. Get out of high school, dive into the beautiful countryside. -

I heard about that with Ninja, I wish that he would have dropped some weight and become a middleweight though. Seems more natural for him. I can't see him making any real waves, though it is exciting to see a Chute boxe fighter in the UFC. Don't match him up with Couture, whatever you do. -

When you say if Chuck could KO Overeem, than Shogun would knife through him, you're implying that if Chuck can do something, Shogun will do it better. Which is why I brought those guys up, and which is why I disagreed with the logic of your sentence. I now realize the emphasis is more on Overeem, but I would like to hear you expand on why Shogun would have a better chance at KO'ing him than Chuck did, as Shogun doesn't have the power that Chuck has. Although I admit that what he lacks in the power he makes up for in aggression. The reason Tito was afraid of Chuck was because he was planning to stand with him and do to him what Rampage and Randy did. There was one problem--he doesn't have the ability. He realized that to take Chuck down he'd have to strike a little to get there, but he just wasn't good enough. If he were to fight Shogun, he wouldn't have to worry about a vicious sprawl. Obviously Shogun has a striker's chance, but it's doubtful. Tito has shown the ability to get back from being rocked, like in the Kondo and Wanderlei fights. It's not a freak occurence just because it's the only KO loss of their careers. I mean, all three only have one KO loss, and the fact that they were all against the same guy shows that it's more of a "this guy has more KO power than anyone else in his division" type of occurence. EDIT: Whatever happened to Nuthugger? That one is a classic. Just for shits and giggles, with the LHW rankings being topsy turvy recently, what are youse guys' rankings for the top ten? 1) Chuck 2) Wanderlei 3) Randy 4) Babalu 5) Shogun 6) Arona 7) Lil Nog 8) Rampage 9) Tito (If he's still fighting) 10) Overeem -

I don't agree with that logic, Chuck KO'ed Tito, Randy and Babalu, do you believe that Shogun would go through them like hot butter? They're two very different fighters, I don't think a solid comparison can be made. I still think Shogun will run through Overeem like nobody's business, since I think Overeem is overrated as hell right now, but I just don't like the way you put it. EDIT: Are you sure Terrell dominated most of the fight? I remember a neutral standup, than about 20 seconds of working a guillotine by Terrell, then 3 minutes of ass whooping by Tanner. The little that Terrell did dominate he didn't really dominate, working for a guillotine and not getting it isn't really domination. -
The only thing I see, and I am also ignorant on matters of SHOOTO, is that Shaolin doesn't match up well with Gomi and neither does Edwards. Against Shaolin, I don't know if Shaolin would be able to keep him on the ground long enough to submit him as well as avoid being pounded out, not to mention whether he will be able to get it there and survive Gomi's standup first. Yves would just be overpowered since he's so lanky and I think Gomi would also be able to pound him out. Combine that with the fact that his fight with Hansen was awhile ago and very close, and that he has a very similar style to Kawajiri, and I think it's arguable that he could be Number One. Of course, I don't believe it since I feel that he's beaten lesser opponents than the others and that his striking defense and cardio, or lack thereof, will be his undoing. So I see both sides, but I'm sticking with how he's not at the top.

Also, with Shogun facing overreem, I have a feeling he'll beat him early and Arona will have a long drawn out war with Silva. So that should make things interesting to say the least. Of course, my interest in this pales in comparison to the Heavyweight Title match. Oh, and Tank's back too. That should be fun. -

The main reason I heard was that Shamrock always felt that the UFC didn't pay their fighters enough, which I agree with him on. This seems a lot more complex than that, so I'll assume that that's not the only issue and that he must be wrong on something else. -
"Filmore" creator mad at Jon Stewart
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Current Events
Family Guy is pretty much the same shit all the time. Random stuff happens, hope it's funny. Jon Stewart is a news type of show though, so they aren't really comparable. I don't see the point in bringing that up, other than the fact that you're offended that someone finds Stewart funny. By the way, 100 x 100 does not equal 200. Therefore, Family Guy is 10000 times funnier than Filmore. -
Alex Emilienenko vs. Ricardo Morais EDIT: I tried u/l Coleman vs. Goes but it didn't work, so I just replaced with another fun quickie.

BUMP This needs more discussion, it could be interesting in my opinion, as I'm sure many of us disagree on different candidates.
