The Rockers or Rock n' Roll Express?

Yeah I mean the Rockers never wrestled great tag teams like the RnR Express did in the NWA and stuff. The Rockers were a team during perhaps one of the worst periods for the WWF, workrate-wise. It's not really a fair comparison. RnR are also known for being a tag team together, that being the high point of their career. Shawn is known as HBK for a reason. This is relevant because it shows that they did it much longer and worked together more, as opposed to The Rockers who had a shorter shelf-life. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Gun control is not about banning guns, it's about making them harder to obtain, so that not anyone who is irresponsible can have one. We're not talking about getting rid of them altogether. I'm amazed at the desire the left has to restrict Constitutional rights. Who needs the 2nd Amendment, right? -=Mike That wasn't me trying to ban guns or take away the second amendment. I'm not even American so the issue is not something I feel strongly about. I really didn't know the exact definition of "gun control" since it can mean many different thing to different people, seeing as how some see control differently than others. I was merely trying to push conversation and see if I was right or wrong. KKK of all people offered up something. It's just something to open up discussion is all. No need to be so defensive, or melodramatic for that matter.

How the U.S. Uses Globalization to Cheat

Maybe Stephen Joseph is an economist (maybe, we don't know for sure) but until he actually backs his opinion up with some facts his argument is complete and utter trash. I'm not taking sides here, just saying that Mike and SJ have to actually come up with why they think the article is stupid, as opposed to being all snobby and saying "This article is stupid, if you don't know why nothing I say will convince you".

Could you point me to the sites you use for free downloading? It seems all sites I click on that advertise FREE are lying 'cause they actually ask you for your CC or something. Thanks in advance. As for the getting them for free or not debate, I think $0.10 per song is completely a bargain so I don't mind it. It eases up a bit the "guilt" you might get for downloading free. And it sure beats that Kazaa shit, where you don't know if you're getting a damaged file, complete silence, or an endless loop of the song's chorus. At least on mp3search.ru you get the full song with no errors. Person to Person servers. Remember Napster? Shit like that.

    Spring Training

I see, do you have any opinions of him as a prospect, and what his potential might be? I have a real question for you man; how are you so knowledgable about baseball in general. Is it a purely statistical thing, as in you work off of that to evaluate players or do you have a knowledge of the game itself, like you can tell the subtle differences between players that mainly experience would tell you? Stuff like noticing nuances in a pitcher's form or the sweetness of a swing, etc. Have you ever thought about making a living doing something in baseball, anywhere from writing to helping out a team themselves? It's a shame that you're wasting your skills, if you have them, because I wouldn't know that much, on the other baseball folk here at TSM. It's a nice gesture, but surely if you could you'd have much more fun working with the game.

    MMA Matches you like

Just saw Enson-Igor again today. My Goodness, it's like there's a tennis ball at the side of his head at the end of the fight.

    MMA Matches you like

So I figure that we could get some discussion going, and recommending some stuff to each other. Just talk about matches you like, and why you like them. If you disagree with someone else, point out how wrong they are. I'll start with a couple: Lindland/Baroni II - UFC 41:Onslaught This one was a war, and is the probably the last match that Baroni had where his performance was something to be proud of really. He just went ballistic in the first round, going crazy at Lindland's face a few times with some good flurries. Of course, he gassed later and Lindland went to work, especially in the second round, just elbowing his face to the mat while locking up his arms. Just lots of intensity and there was never a point when the action was stalled, Baroni showed some pretty good ground moves that I didn't think that he had, namely using a kimura to sweep Lindland. Just a great, great fight that even the crowd, which normally hates groundwork, enjoyed, probably because of the grudge factor in there. That's right, these guys hate each other, a lot. If you haven't seen this one, you should. It's one of my favourite matches from 2003. SPOILER ALERT: I personally thought that, by the UFC's rules, that it could easily be said that Baroni won rounds 1 and 3, just barely, while Lindland took 2. Not to mention that Baroni finished better and might have won under PRIDE criteria. Regardless, it was a lot closer than the Unanimous decision would tell you. Frank Shamrock/Jeremy Horn - UFC 17:Redemption His fight with Tito is probably talked about more, but I prefer this fight since Horn fights back, as opposed to just stalling with Shamrock. Great ground action, although it might seem a little slow to those not used to Horn. Very back and forth with the positioning and submission attempts, and there are points when Shammy catches a foot submission of some kind, and Horn smiles as if to say "You ain't got shit". Long and deep battle, when Rogan talks about MMA being kinetic chess, this is what he speaks of. Ending is as good as it is sudden, and I would definitely recommend this one to anyone. The fact that it took place in 1997 on a card where Dirty Harry Moskowitz had a fight speaks volumes about how past its time this bout was. In fact, this whole card would probably be a good show by todays standards. But yeah, great fight.

    Saddest Story you'll read today

Well her kids are 17 and 15, old enough to make the decision. I can understand why she'd do it, but if I was a blind teenager I wouldn't be selfish enough to tell my mother to sacrifice her life so that I can see.

    The NFL Offseason/Pre-Draft Thread

He wants in Arizona for a player to player deal, seeing as how the Bills needed a left tackle and that's what Arizona is offering. I don't think it's worth it seeing as how much production Henry has given compared to that of a middle of the road LT. He's cheap, but it's not worth it, especially when come draft day he is most probably going to be dealt for a first round pick. Henry had really good years in Buffalo, but he's got a case of fumble-itis and has had some injuries so there is some baggage.

    Poor wittle Bawwy Bonds...

The IRS is going to be on his ass soon...he may have committed tax evasion (by not declaring money, about $80K, from autograph signings and buying his girlfriend a house in AZ with that $$$) 80K ain't that much when you earn like a gazillion dollars a year. How much money will he have to pay in penalty?

What did Kilborn say about Owen Hart? What did SC say about JYD? Most people on this board don't care that much about wrestling anymore.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

I heard that the matchups that are probably gonna happen will be Saku/Vitor and Silva/Yoshida. The winners are most likely to face off. Everytime I fear for Silva, he pulls it out and beats his opponent. I thought he would lose the GP, thought he would lose the rematch to Rampage, but he manages to stay on top. His loss at NYE is nothing to be ashamed of though, all things considered, as that's already been discussed in depth. Again, I fear him losing to Vitor and he didn't look so good against Yoshida last time around. He's definitely the favourite, but this looks to be the first sixteen fighter tournament I know of that hasn't had at least one fighter significantly weaker, dare I say a can, than all the rest. Everybody in this one is a stud.

    Ages of TNA workers

Anything below 35 is young in wrestling really. Look at how different the business was five years ago. Guys retire because of injuries real fast and their staying power on top fades as well. Considering that lots of people wrestle into their forties and such, not to mention that new talent pops up all the time, shows that there's nothing to really be worried about after looking at this roster. Amazing that Waltman has been on the "big stage" for over ten years and is only 33.

No these are Amateur I think. I know that Chris lost to Joe Doerksen outside of this competition, so I believe that these don't count. Rudo; switch Leben with Baroni and you have yourself a match. A loudmouth striker who is overly emotional, and I like Baroni.

    More Possible WWE Returns...

Disappointed you guys, that's all I can say. The fact that the prospect alone brought people to watch the show should tell the WWE that the man is a draw plain and simple.

    The Ultimate Fighter

I think Florian has better ground skills than Koscheck and is on par with Diego, and I think he has better striking skills than them both. If he showed anything in this fight, it's that he's got a huge heart and can battle through some tough strikes. I think he'll win the final. I don't know much about Sam Hoger, but the LHW division looks wide open at this point and judging from the fact that Bonnar beat Southworth, looks like it's stacked as well.
