Judge Says California Can't Ban Gay Marriage
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to BUTT's topic in Current Events
The only real segregation I *might* buy is black only groups, like on campus or whatever. But I disagree about groups segregating themselves. Can't it just as easily be argued that white people don't go and say hi to a black kid? -

It's no longer the case, though. The only segregation, sadly, is done BY the same minority groups that fought for integration years ago. Not joking about it really hasn't resolved the problems. -=Mike I don't buy that. What's your definition of segregation than, and which groups do you speak of that want it, in what way? -
Judge Says California Can't Ban Gay Marriage

Well if he said it like KKK did, but instead of California he said Washington, odds are that it would be a joke. But I agree, too much discussion of KKK in this thread. So, how about that gay marriage? -

2 people complained...and neither called for bannings. Quoted for emphasis. If this was a story on the white house about a policy GWB initiated, or something similar, and INXS said "Too bad the guy in Atlanta doesn't live in Washington", I can't imagine the shit storm. But it's just a joke really. Might make him come off as an asshole, but it's not like anything he's saying will affect anyone on the forum. Guys defending the WWE is a lot more offensive in my eyes, and also makes me worry about how they act outside of these boards. -

SPOILER Shit, I still don't know how to use the spoiler tags properly. I am guessing Forrest leaves, and Bobby takes his place, explaining that picture of Bobby in the background. -
Sounds like a lover's quarrel. Glad to see that they are back again.

If someone could upload the Jake Roberts thing, that would be great.

Why does Bas hate him? They fought like three times. I think Frank is probably the most gifted athlete to ever step into MMA. The guy is just naturally RIPPED. Like, he's as strong as he could be but as agile too. To see him work armbars and other submissions is another story as the guy could move on the mat like no one else. So the dad yelled at his kid then causing the defender of the little people Ken Shamrock to chew him out? A BJJ Blue Belt is pretty high, I'd expect him to be able to keep up with Ken. Ken is fucked up when he talks about Royce though, all that shit about taking his soul or something. You'd think Guy would have lightened up after he was KTFO (and by KTFO I mean KNOCKED TEH FUCK OUT~!) by both Silva and especially Liddell. Do you have any Guy stories?

What's this beads thing? That other guy brought it up, the Spring Break expert, and I've heard of it before... -
Any good ghetto movies?
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Shooting Star's topic in Television & Film
I don't know if it's really a ghetto movie, but Mo Better Blues is a great little flick about Harlem that has black people that don't speak in Ebonese all the time. -

Yeah but he's not learning how to apply submissions or anything mostly, since that would be hard to learn in a few months. I think it's more of a escapes and ground positioning defense, so he doesn't get mounted like the last time. I think it's just part of his style to be loopy. He can't really change his looping punching style that he's been using for years and years. I guess he can tighten it a little bit, but not drastically. He kept a good defense and had a tighter game, which Randy pointed out, against Tito. Although admittedly, that was against Tito. -
Pneumonia was the cause.

Did anyone else listen to the MMAWeekly radio show today? There was an interview with Chuck Liddell. Apparently he had a torn quad in his fight against Quinton. I didn't know that, of course Chuck wouldn't mention that since he's not that kind of guy, but interesting nonetheless. They said he is in better shape now than he's ever been for any other fight blah blah blah. I still think that the only chance he has is extensive work with Eddie Bravo and improved cardio. He said he was tired three minutes into the last fight with Randy. -

Something I just noticed; why is Ken Shamrock on the UFC 43 poster? -
Public Version of Saddam's Capture Faked?

I haven't seen anything anti-semitic about him, he agrees with the Palestinian side, but I know many that do, Muslim or not. Are they all anti-semitic too? There are tons of Canadians that dislike America for its policy and smug arrogance (or so they say). Does this mean that we're all anti-American? No, because there's a difference between hating certain aspects of a culture or government, and hating the people themselves. -
I think freestyles are completely overrated in terms of defining a rapper. In fact, I don't get the big deal about them in the first place. It's impressive, but it don't mean shit. I was thinking of starting a thread, but might as well put it here since someone pointed it out.

The reason it works in football is because of body development, in terms of size. You simply can't take the punishment of the NFL at age 18. Warren Sapp was 210 lbs when he entered college. You think he'd have a chance at becoming the player he was if he came then instead of going in at 350 or whatever it was? The same doesn't really apply to basketball. THey're already tall, filling out isn't as big a deal, and they can learn the game while that's going on if they're not good already, or big. That's why there's an age limit in the NFL, and you don't really need one in the NBA.

Took you a week hmm?

I've never heard of there being an actual favourite for a world championship. I thought everyone, seeing as how the actual odds are about one in thirty, start off as a "You get more money than you bet". I think I'm gonna plunk down a bill on the Jays.

Talkin to me? I was saying that reading Jaxl's poem, I thought it was Morrison's, till I got further and saw certain things. I was telling Jaxl to take it as a compliment that I confused it with something his idol would write.
-
At first I thought you were talking about Morrison's poems too, till I got a little further. Take that as a compliment I think.

He's tryin to be hardcore by saying the word nigger a bunch of times. I don't think Oprah will let him back on her show now. I accidentally spelled that Opera at first, and took awhile to figure out what it was.

It's this strange contrast of confidence and modesty that I like about Fedor. He can smash top class fighters, but still asks his fans "please support me". A class act through and through. I believe he is back in Holland right now improving his striking training with guys at the Vos Gym, Yvel and Hoost among them. Yeah, that's what I noticed too. I love how he just leaves a statement like that, I would have bolded it but was lazy. He is supposed to be the evil Russian Cyborg from what I see, but he's just too damn humble and nice for you not to like him. For SC: I personally liked 48, and 50 is alright. 46 I'm iffy on, the main event was a wreck but the rest of the card was decent. If St. Pierre v. Karo was good, a fight that wasn't shown on PPV, than I imagine that this is a worth pickup as well. I have to say that I don't like 45 much though. -
I hope you're not honestly insinuating that had the Bills won the Music City Miracle game instead of the Titans, that they'd be close in the Super Bowl? Hey now, the point is the Bills should have beat a team, in their unbeatable home stadium (at the time) with their backup. A team that was a yard short of a Super Bowl. At the very least, that's impressive. At the most, that could have been the Bills riding into the Super Bowl. You can't deny that they gave the Titans their toughest AFC game, in Tennessee to boot.

Ha, I was about to say the same thing. He's not doing a good job of portraying himself as anything but a dumbass redneck by saying something like that. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt by pointing out its humour, but there's nothing remotely clever about this at all. Most people I know that watch wrestling don't really take it seriously. No one I know analyzes it like the folks online do. I'm not making a generalization here, since I don't know many wrestling fans. However, I was curious as to whether or not the situation was the same for most of you guys. Do you honestly know any wrestling fans that collect tapes, look for things like proper selling and backstory and psychology, or are they all just people who look at it at face value? Also, if they do look at it at face value, are they regular folk, or are they dumbass rednecks? From what I can tell, it's just another TV show to them. Although I think Vince should be grateful he still has a fanbase, seeing as how he's shit on them often over the past few years, since Attitude died down.
